Dom - September 2006
Lake Burley Griffen and the oulook of Paliament house are very impressive. Apart from that found it to be pretty much a sleepy hollow with not much going on. Pleasant enough but not on the top of return destinations.

We always stay at this Hotel when we are travelling to and from Melbourne. It breaks up the trip very nicely. We always find the service impeccable.

I\'ve been to Canberra 3 times - for me the attractions are the museums, Parliament House and the lake. It does get fairly cold in Canberra so be prepared if you visit in the colder months.

A nice place for a visit but its pretty easy to run through the list of things to do - good restaurants though

Canberra is the captal city of Australia surrounded by the man made lake of Burley Griffin. the main attractions include many museums, questacon, the high court and of course federal parliament

Canberra is the capital of Australia, what can I say? It is great to visit if you are looking to see parliament houses but other than that, there is not too much action happening there

We visited in Autumn and it was just divine, oranges and browns everywhere. So much Australian history to revel in here, not to mention the political epicentre of Australia. I think every family should take their kids there at least once.

A great place to soak up Australian History & politics with the war memorial, museum and parliament house. Plenty to occupy young children to grandparents. A good stop over if you are driving from Melbourne to Sydney

I love Canberra. So much to see and do. Make sure to visit the War Memorial, Museum and zoo. Always go back to Canberra.

Been to Canberra many times for weekends away and school excursions. Many places to visit such as the war memorial, parliament house and Questacon - the science and technology centre - which is really fun as you get to play with things and experience an Earthquake.

Lovely and friendly place to visit. VERY cold in winter. War Memorial is a must and very clean town.

We liked the geometry of Canberra and its ease of access as well being enthralled by the richness of the National Gallery\'s collection and the diversity of the embassies. The history within the National Museum was compelling and helped us understand the history of Ausrtalia.

Cam - August 2004
Quite place, cold in winter and hot in summer. The National War Museum is a must for anyone want to learn about Australia\'s involvement in the major world events. Good for also art galleries and science exhibitions. Take the kids!
Rating: 5 out of 5
Katy - October 2006
I love Canberra as it\'s quite unlike anywhere else. Very orderly and feels like a scene from The Stepford Wives. The galleries and museums are second to none. The shopping centre is huge and nearly always empty. The restaurants are average unless you\'re in Manuka which is always packed. If you love flowers, head down to Floriade.

This city is very well organised. Everything is well aligned - especially the buildings around Parliment. Pretty place - but can get very cold!

When I think of Canberra, it is the outdoors and nature, a city in a park.

It is so different than the other Australian cities. Very green, very European. The parks are just lovely...

Excellent for families but must have a car to get around. Questacon is loads of fun and reasonably priced. Also check out go-carting at Fyshwick, much cheaper than Sydney.

TRUDIE - December 2001
Nice clean city with wide streets. Capital city of Australia.

lancelot - April 2006
I love Canberra as a weekend visit. Most attractions can be visited relatively easily and the big ones (War Memorial, Parliament House) are free. One of the best things to do is to hire a bike and cycle around Lake Burley Griffin from the Boatshed.

I liked Canberra with plenty to do but was very cold in the night as it was middle of winter, Also the town being designed on a circle it\'s very easy to lose your bearings when driving. Plenty of nightlife but would say visit in Summer.

Quiet town but worth going if you are looking to see some history and what the capital of Australia looks like

Canberra has great Museums and Galleries. The war memorial is very moving, and the Parliament House is worth checking out. Canberra has a couple of night spots, and good restaurants. The Lake in the centre of Canberra is beautiful in Autumn, as it most of Canberra\'s tree lined avenues.
