ABOUT
Las Mothes Gîte d’Occitanie is situated in an idyllic and peaceful location, surrounded by nature yet close to airports and traditional market villages.

In a lesser-visited part of France, it permeates a gentle pace and the finer things in life - sunshine, nature, food and wine.

SURROUNDINGS
The farmhouse is surrounded by 1.5 acres of garden scented by honeysuckle, lavender and rosemary and is dotted with mature walnut, fig and olive trees. The property looks onto fields of sunflowers and wheat.

Use it as a base to explore the neighbouring medieval market towns, outings to local vineyards, for nature walks, cycle rides, visiting the nearby family leisure parks or simply for privacy and tranquility.

SPACIOUS , CHARACTERFUL INTERIOR
Las Mothes is a typical Lomagne style farmhouse. It was built in the 1800s out of clay bricks and timber and has been carefully renovated for modern country living. Beneath a terracotta tiled roof you will find well appointed, light spacious rooms, high ceilings and exposed beams. It has approximately 247 sq m (2,659 sq ft) of internal space which makes the farmhouse perfect for gatherings of family or friends.

FOUR DOUBLE BEDROOMS
We have four double bedrooms with good quality, new beds and air conditioning. 100% high thread count cotton bedding is provided.

LIVING ROOM AND SEPARATE FAMILY ROOM
The house has a 42 sq m (452 sq ft) living room with a wood burning stove for cosy evenings inside and a separate 23 sq m (248 sq ft) family room with Netflicks TV, DVD player, DVD library and board games.

SOCIABLE DINING ALL YEAR ROUND
Las Mothes Gite is set up for convivial dining. It has a large, 22 sq m (237 sq ft) well equipped kitchen that is a joy to use and an adjoining 18 sq m (194 sq ft) dining room for in the winter months.

For sunny days, it has terraces on three sides of the property. You can wake up to coffee and a croissant on the south facing terrace, have lunch under the shade of the vines outside the kitchen, and sip sun downers as the sun sets on the pool terrace.

RELAX
Las Mothes Gite is managed by an English and French speaking neighbour who will settle you in to your home from home on arrival and be on hand if you need anything throughout your stay.

Great home and perfect location
WOW!!!AMAZING!!!!! These are some of the thoughts that went through our heads as Vania showed us around the villa for the first time. As my family (4 adults and 6 children) lazed by the pool, we were all pinching ourselves thinking "I can't believe this is ours for 2 weeks!! Honestly, the photos you see on the website do not do this magnificent property justice. The setting of the villa is quite stunning, the house is beautifully cared for with a relaxed feel and stylish decor. Bedrooms are spacious with beautiful views from every window in the house. The kitchen is very well equipped. The outside area was a hit too as most nights we cooked at home using the local produce purchased from the markets. The gorgeous pool and setting was a real treat to come home to after long days visiting the stunning villages. I must also mention that Vania was a very nice host that make us feel very welcome. Thank you , we have all had the most memorable holiday we will never ever forget. One day we hope to return!

Relaxing idyllic spot - great family holiday with pool!
This beautiful house was in an idyllic setting perfect for our family holiday with young children including a 4 month old! We enjoyed the pool and the evening bbqs! Area is very quiet but the animaparc and saint clar lake were definitely worth a visit! The lady looking after the house was great at popping in and cleaning the pool and offering advice!! Thanks for a great holiday!

A beautiful house in a stunning location.
We enjoyed a relaxing two weeks at the beautiful Las Mothes. We holidayed as two families with 4 boys and the spacious house provided everything we could need, lazy days by the pool, evenings on the terrace, an array of wildlife and a great location to explore the area. Martin and Vania were really helpful and made everything run smoothly. A truly lovely place to stay.

Magical Las Mothes
A breathtaking approach to the most exquisite, comfortable and delightful modern French farmhouse. 360 degree stunning views of the French terrain and within close driving distance to the Midi-Pyrenees. We were blown away by the exquisite villages. We couldn't keep our cameras away. The pool at the house was so refreshing after a morning relaxing in the sunshine. We always felt so comfortable and content at the house. We even had all the tools and utensils to make a delishious birthday cake. Morning runs up the 300m driveway, and through the parted wheat were thoroughly enjoyed. The house comfortably fits 10 people. We had a party of 7 and had more than enough room. We would highly recommend this home if your objective is to relax and to explore countless villages nearby with the most friendly locals, enticing markets and taste the magnificent French cuisine this is the perfect farmhouse for you.

Great rural retreat to relax with family around a pool
Lovely rustic setting in rolling countryside. A true opportunity to unwind and escape everyday stress. We had a very happy week by the pool and venturing into the town for BBQ supplies. Even when the weather turned for the last couple of days the kids had sky tv and WiFi to keep them occupied indoors.

Stunning views
We have visited France more years than we care to mention with the family and had varying experiences. This property and the surrounding area was at the very top. The house is wonderfully situated and the views stunning. The house is very spacious, clean and has all mod cons. The kitchen was a stand out area with everything you will ever need. Outside there are two great areas to eat both with great views. The pool is a Great area with the seating around the pool a real treat. The local villages and countryside were stunning and the locals very welcoming. Visit the local cave at st Sardon for an immediate infusion as the wines were great. You will love it!

Heaven on Earth, better than we'd ever imagined!
First of all let's set the scene, the property is located in the most picturesque location amongst the rolling hills outside of Beaumont de Lomagne, it's been our favourite region as has neighbouring Gers for some years so we know what we're looking for in a property and its location. The description of the property is spot on, in fact the property is better than we'd expected, fully equipped with everything a family would need for a stress free stay. The property is clean, loved and clearly cared for by someone who cares, all the equipment worked faultlessly and it has all the facilities you need, it was a home from home, BUT BETTER! The well equipped modern (but characterful) kitchen is the heart of the house which is where we found ourselves most of the time, apart from when being out on the patio or in the pool. The house is only 3 miles from the centre of Beaumont so nice and close to buy your baquettes and croissants each morning, we visited several markets in surrounding villages, explored the countryside and even made it to a couple of restaurants, one that Martin hasn't even visited yet but we can highly recommend. Martin has prepared a folder which is a comprehensive guide to the house and its surroundings, including advice on where to visit, the markets, shops, restaurants, pretty villages, stunning scenery etc. The customer service is second to none, not that we had any issues, the local (English) caretaker lives less than a mile away and was there to greet us, talk us through where everything was and how it all worked, paid us a visit mid way then came to see us off at the end, we just couldn't fault this place in any way, it is quite simply Heaven on Earth. Would we recommend it to anyone else? That's a tricky one, as long as they don't want the same week as we'd like as we'll most definitely be back, and next time we're staying for TWO weeks. Our entire family loved it and we're already planning our next visit. Thank you Martin and family for such a memorable stay in the best holiday rental we've stayed in and in the most spectacular of locations.

Lovely rural retreat in South West France
Las Mothes is a carefully restored former farmhouse near the small market town of Beaumont-de-Lomagne in the Tarn et Garonne Departement. The accommodation is spacious and the property is fitted out to a good standard. In particular, the kitchen is among the best I have seen in many years of staying in private villas and the outside areas around the pool and the dining terrace are also outstanding. This part of France really is a bit of an undiscovered gem and not for nothing is it sometimes referred to as the French Tuscany. This is rural France at its best; friendly, laid back and sometimes a little quirky with the beautiful rolling countryside viewed from well maintained and almost empty roads. The town of Beaumont-de-Lomagne is about 5 kilometres from the house and has a lively market every Saturday morning with lots of local produce for the keen cook. For those less keen (and I confess to being one of these) there is also a perfectly adequate supermarket where a week's shop can be completed quickly thereby allowing more time to sip ice cold beer by the pool whilst admiring the stunning views. Are there downsides? Well, a car with a sat nav is probably an essential and, this being rural France, not much in the way of restaurants opens on a Sunday or even a Monday meaning stocking up at the market is to be advised. Other than that, nothing to stop you having a lovely relaxing holiday in a stunning location.

Perfect rural retreat.
Idyllic setting, very comfortable accommodation, perfect for experiencing rural France, and a lovely family holiday. We stayed last summer surrounded by fields of Sunflowers. Beautiful location near a lovely little town, Beaumont- de-Lomange, the garlic festival was on while we were there. We had a lovely meal at the local gourmet restaurant. A short drive gets you to Lectoure, a delightful town with its Friday market selling local produce. The much larger Montauban , with its remarkable red brick bridge built in the 14th century, spanning the river Tarn is well worth a visit and not just for its history - the shopping and cafes’ are good too. The farmhouse was very clean and well maintained with excellent facilities. Mr Lewis was very helpful with recommending places to visit. The garden terrace next to the dining room was lovely for breakfast or a relaxing evening meal and a swim in the beautiful pool was the perfect way to start your day or to refresh yourself after a day out enjoying the sights. I would definitely recommend a stay at this property.

Just superb !
A superb farmhouse in a peaceful rural position that commands wonderful views of the surrounding countryside - we were there when the sunflowers were in bloom and the photos don't do it justice - it was stunning. The interior has been beautifully restored and we found that it had all the space needed for our large group. On a hot summer's day, the terraces were spacious with enough shade to allow comfortable dining out of the sun on a hot summer's day and the pool very welcoming - it was comforting to see the pool safety alarm in place even though we had no children with us. The small town of Beaumont-de-Lomagne is just a short distance away - if you're looking for a restaurant try 'La Maison des Lumieres'.

Why they chose this property

As you round the corner of the road, you can see a cheerful yellow home with a wobbly terracotta roof nestled in between three hills and surrounded by fields, as far as the eye can see. It always brings a smile to our faces.

Las Mothes (pronounced Les Mottes) means clump of dirt or clod. It is named after the clay hills on which it stands and from which it was built. The house was built as a farmhouse in the traditional regional style and method, over 150 years ago. The thick walls are made from clay mud bricks, baked hard in the sun and layered around a foraged timber frame. It originally would have consisted of a central ground floor dwelling with stables in the eves at either side. The second floor (now the main bedroom) was originally the hay loft. The property has been gradually modernised by a series of owners and I love that you can see how it has been loved and cared for over the years, including by its last owner Martin Lewis.

Inside, it is a light filled home that has a wonderful feel to it. It's been sympathetically modernised and just enough touches of the original beams and high barn ceilings remain to give it character. It's designed for an inside / outside lifestyle – you're never many metres from a door to the garden. The house is surrounded on all sides by the garden and its views.

What makes this property unique

You feel that you are in a private rural idyll in the middle of the countryside but you're only five minutes' drive from Beaumont de Lomagne and all its facilities. It is quiet and safe without being remote.

The property makes a perfect retreat, all year round. It's ideal for lazy pool days in the summer and cozy and warm in the winter.

Take time to stay up and look at the night sky. The blanket of stars is just amazing!
