Great for what we needed!
There were 4 couples and one child and it was great for what we needed! Kitchen was amply stocked. Plenty of bedrooms and places to spread out. Hot tub was nice and video games were a hit.

A home for the Holiday
We enjoyed this nice home over Thanksgiving. The bedroom/bed situation was well suited for our family of 9 (even though there was no bath on the lower level). Having linens & towels supplied was really helpful too. The kitchen space was great and the equipment was adequate (most food was made prior to coming) but an 8 qt stock pot would help for cooking pasta, etc. We enjoyed the privacy of the location and had a lovely hike on the trail down to the lake on thanksgiving morning. Overall, a nice home for our holiday.

Perfect central location for Derby and Bourbon Trail
My husband and I shared this house with another couple for a bourbon and Kentucky Derby trip. Location was perfect. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful even though there were other Derby revealers at houses across the street. The community pool is very close to this house - could make for some noise if kids were around but it was still closed when we stayed so can’t say if that would be bothersome. The house is nice and comfortable - not sparkling clean but decent. Beds were comfy and there was great plenty lounging/sitting space in the common areas for us. The property a manager was very easy to reach and check in and out were both super easy.

Staying in Taylorsville
The house is good size for 10 people. Most of the amenities are the same as website described. We have a wonderful time there. Few things needs to improve: DVD player needs a HDMI cable. A few light bulbs were dead. Fireplace didn’t work Arcade machines shoot button doesn’t work

A/C Problems, Dirty Decks
The location of this property is really convenient. The little town of Taylorsville is close and has plenty of amenities. The pool is right next door and the lake views, not from this house, but up and down the road are very pretty. It had plenty of room for all of us. Now the problems. When we arrived the glass front door closing mechanism was off and the door was wide open and could not be closed....not the wood door. A trundle bed was broken and the upper bunk box spring had material hanging down toward the lower bunk. The outside decks were filthy. The one off of the kitchen area had a board that had warped and was lifted an inch or so on one end. No one would want to go out there. I contacted Cliff the property manager and he did have the maintenance crew out the next day to repair and clear all of the above to our satisfaction. However the deck on the ground level did not get cleaned and it was really bad with spider webs and dead leaves and just dirty. Like someone else mentioned, it seems a little strange that there is no bathroom on the bottom floor, but that certainly is not property management issue. Now for our main problem. The A/C. The bottom floor was very cool, I am not sure what the temp was down there. The main floor....Kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms was hot. It never got below 78 on the thermostat on this floor. Upstairs is a bedroom with a bathroom. This room was unbearable. Cliff sent someone to change the filter the on the AC. That did nothing to help. The A/C unit froze up several times and we were asked to turn the A/C off until it thawed. This we did twice and the unit froze up again. This problem was not addressed for us. Cliff said the unit was new and was just replace a few weeks back. He did offer to send the A/C repair co but at 5pm the repair co. still had 3 calls to make, so I declined for that evening. The next morning we were leaving. We did enjoy our stay. Thankfully we were gone during the hottest part of the days that we were there.

A mixed review
Pluses: The property itself was modern, roomy, well stocked, and close to the pool and clubhouse. Minus: No half bath in the basement sleeping and seating area. Those sleeping downstairs had to come upstairs to use a toilet. This is not the best in the middle of the night. Cleanliness: Mouse droppings were in the sheets that were on one of the queen beds downstairs. Photo was taken, and the management crew responded, came over, and remade the bed with clean sheets. It was a cold weekend, and we needed blankets; the management team gave us a code to get blankets from a basement storage room. There were mouse droppings all over that room. Bedding was stored in the open, not in plastic containers. Management brought additional bedding in plastic containers and many mousetraps. We got the feeling that they thought we were being picky since they asked where we were from. Eight of the people who stayed (2 adults and 6 children) spent time in the hot tub. After the weekend, all 8 had red spots all over their torsos. The 3 who had not gotten in the hot tub had no red spots. After an Internet search, we diagnosed ourselves with hot tub folliculitis because the spots looked like the image online. One of the children had bad itching. After finding the treatment (new filter, sterilizing with bleach), I emailed the management company and told them about the problem, gave the treatment recommendations, and attached a picture of my granddaughter's torso. I did not hear anything back. Because of our experience, we would be very hesitant to return or recommend the site without knowing that all issues had been taken care of. As a family of 11, we have stayed in a lot of different houses and never had an experience like this.

Nice Place for some R&R
This property suited my group of 6 quite well. The hot tub was hot and the house well appointed with the things we needed. This is a house near the woods and the water, so yes we saw lots of bugs/spiders, but I didn't expect anything different given where we were. Overall, a nice, quiet retreat option.

Overpriced and Dirty
First off we tried to contact the owner by email and phone call before the visit and no response. We arrived at the property looked around and at first glance it looked ok. Started opening drawers and found mouse droppings, had to wash all of the dishes before we could use them. Opened the hot tub and found slime around the side. Windows were full of spiders and you couldn’t see out of them they were so dirty. Closed the bathroom door and the cleaning person forgot to clean back there. Tried to use the grill that was on the back deck and it didn’t get hot enough to cook our food so we had to take it off the grill and inside to a pan. Time for bed. My daughter pulled the sheets down and there was blood on the sheets not only down stairs but in the upstairs bedrooms also. Tried to put towels in the dryer to dry them and the door was broken, would not close! Couldn’t close the dryer and the washer door wouldn’t open. Overall it was a nice house if someone would take care of it and clean it and for sure check it out before renting it out. Nice family weekend but BB couldn’t wait to get out of that nasty house. Thank goodness we didn’t have any real issues because the renter never returned our email or phoned us back. Overpriced for sure!!!

Great stay...not as secluded as we thought
Overall a great stay, the house was clean upon arrival. The only downside was the hot tub was cold at arrival and after 6 hours in the car that would have been great. Also, check-in is at 4 pm, and took until almost 4:30 to get the key code to the gate and door. The owner was very friendly and called to ensure we had everything we needed. Part of a gated community, so there is very little traffic and it is quiet neighborhood. Great middle location to the bourbon trail, we went to Frankfurt and then Bardstown the second day, highly recommend Willet. The bar upstairs was very friendly and classy...with the best Old Fashioned a few of us had along the tour.

We really wanted to love it ... but just couldn't.
My family and I take a "girls trip" every year, and we usually pick a house like this one. There's a big mix in age group, and the thing we look forward to the most is our time spent together. From looking at the listing of this house, we thought it would be perfect ... unfortunately we were wrong. First, the house just wasn't very clean. It looked it at first glance, but as soon as we walked near the furniture we could see a lot of dust and dead bugs. There was mention in the listing about tons of towels, but we had maybe 6 for a house that sleeps 12. Multiple items from the kitchen drawers were greasy or had leftover residue on them. Additionally, when we pulled out the trundle bed, there were bugs and old pretzel crumbs covering it. We contacted the owner about this, and he did send the housekeeper over with some more clean towels and sheets. Next, the internet was extremely spotty and continued to go out. I had to call the owner to even find the password, then the internet went out for a full 36 hours. It had been raining off and on for a few days prior to our visit, and continued to rain during the visit. Therefore, we were really looking for something to watch either on cable, the "smart TV" advertised, or on the DVD player provided. No cable channels would come through, no matter how many times we re-set the TV. We tried to use the DVD player instead, but could not get it to turn on. We tried calling Cliff multiple times regarding this, but we could not get a call back for a full 6-8 hours. He did finally send over the maintenance guy, and the maintenance guy confirmed that there were only about 10 channels on cable to begin with, and that the storms had likely knocked them all out. He had to go buy us a new DVD player to use. This was a lifesaver as it poured rain two out of the four days we were on our trip. Finally, the photos and description of the cabin just aren't very accurate. The photo of the "lake view" and the swing? That's around the corner from the house, a good 5-10 minute walk. The only views from the cabin are of the *immediate* tree line, the other surrounding cabins, and the far-off community pool. There are multiple decks to sit on, but none of them were very clean and all had wasps swarming most of our trip. The grill also looked very dirty, and the cover was sagging over the top of it. Overall, we were really disappointed with this trip. We cannot recommend it, and will not be coming back.
