From this property, White Pass Ski Area is a 25-minute drive, Mt. Rainier National Park entrance is 12 miles away, and Mt. St. Helens is an hour drive. Within a 10-minute drive, a variety of pristine mountain lakes and hiking trails are waiting to be explored. This house was amazing! We booked this house to explore Mt. Rainier and didn't disappoint us. We watched falling starts with the kids while in the hot tub at night, relaxing from the hikes. Packwood downtown was so cute and we enjoyed watching elks eating grass in the morning in front yard. Overall, it was a great stay!

Perfect Winter cabin

This cabin is beautiful! So cute that it was decorated for the holiday. Hot tub was great! Issues with heat and electricity. The property manager was great with communication and trouble shooting. Really tried to make it right. Thank goodness for the big, beautiful fireplace!

Cabin Near Mount Rainier National Park

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin just outside Packwood with the large grassy yard and deck. Unfortunately, we didn't see any elk on the property, but we had several sightings in town and along the road into town. The other houses along the driveway are spread out, so there is a sense of privacy on the deck. The highway is just one street over, close to be convenient but not obtrusive or loud. The house was comfortable with great decor and pots/pans and very clean but could have used more lighting over the master bed, replacements for chipped dinnerware and burnt out bulbs, and some niceties like a handrail for the high-sided bathtub, luggage racks, and a dishrack. We would have appreciated a few doors or windows in the living room area with screens, so we could open them for air/nature sounds without the bugs getting in. The shower, heat, and a/c worked well (especially appreciated during our 100 degree heatwave). Smart TV was hit and miss for streaming due to sometimes slow WiFi, but our personal devices worked better with the WiFi. The laundry center was very appreciated, as we didn't have to pack as much on our trip. The property was just twenty minutes from the Stevens Entrance and forty minutes from the White River Entrance of the Mt Rainier National Park, and just down the road from the 131 that leads to the Mt St Helens Interpretive Sites. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend the Elk Trail Cabin in Packwood to all.

The perfect cabin to stay for Mount Rainier

The cabin is honestly even better than described on the site. It was very clean and had lots of extras that we really appreciated- like games for both adults and children, extra coolers, ice blocks, lots of DVD's ect. We didn't cook while there- but the kitchen was very well stocked. The beds were all really comfortable as well. The cabin is in a great location for hiking and nearby Packwood restaurants. We spent the whole time hiking and it was a great base for that. There's a really fun brewery close by (made us adults happy) that also has an airstream icecream trailer in the parking lot (made the kids happy) so that added some extra bonus points to our stay! We had a large heard of elk (20+) on the front lawn multiple times a day which was such a treat- especially for our kiddos. There's another cabin on the same road (far back) and the owners are extremely kind. The lack of light pollution made for some magical star filled nights. The Milky Way above the cabin was mind blowing. I wish I could attach some pictures. I had a couple communications back and forth with the property owner and they were very quick to respond, kind and easy to work with. We would absolutely stay here again or recommend it to anyone we know. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with our family.

Beautiful Home

We really enjoyed our stay here. While we were unlucky and didnt see elk at the house, we still saw a ton around town. The kitchen was well equipped and everything that we needed was there. The 2 story fireplace was gorgeous. Highly recommended staying here for some peace and quiet while only being 5 minutes from town!

Great location for Rainier

Great home base for an adventure to Rainier National Park. Yard and hot tub was a plus. We utilized both after hiking and exploring. Lots of space.

Cozy and Beautiful

We loved our stay in this house. It was beautiful and quiet. Had everything we needed. We used the hot tub each night which was great. I was worried there would be too much sunlight in the morning in the loft room but there wasn’t. The bed up there is super comfy! And the elk came to visit us twice in three days. A great base camp for day trips into Rainier.

Spacious home

Beautiful house! What a wonderful place to visit and just relax. Everything is just as shown in the pictures. The house is clean and well taken care of. We enjoyed playing card games in the evening at the large kitchen table after spending the day at Mount Rainier. It is a short drive away from the town of Packwood, where you can find a few shops, a grocery store, brewery, and a few restaurants. We would stay here again.

Gateway to Rainier

It was a great place for our family to use as a base for exploring Mt. Rainier. It had all the comforts we needed and plenty of great space. Had the added benefit of getting to see a whole herd of elk even with little babies walk through the front yard.

Great cabin in Packwood

We had a wonderful stay for a White Pass ski weekend. Watching the snow fall outside the panoramic windows from the living room was like being inside a snow globe. Beautiful place, great hosts.

Peaceful and beautiful

This was just the relaxing place we were looking for. Although we had intended to hike the Goatrocks Wilderness, due to the fire there we spent our days on the eastern side of Mt. Rainier National Park. It was the perfect base for that. The house is quiet and comfortable -- it was excellent in every way!
