Cavendish Country Escape - Cottage on Beautiful P.E.I.

Our spacious fully equipped air conditioned 1300 sq. ft. vacation home is tucked away in a country setting on a long private lane, that offers 90 acres mixed woodland and meadows with trails, including a stream and spring fed pond. Our large deck with BBQ, accessible thru patio doors, offers privacy and tranquility as you enjoy the country view. A fire pit is available for those summer evenings. Lots of space for children and pets to safely play.
We include full size stove, fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer, microwave, coffee pot and toaster. There is a flat screen TV with satellite and DVD, as well as wi-fi. Two of the bedrooms have a queen size bed and the third bedroom has one over two bunk bed setup. Sleeps seven in total comfort. Large four piece bathroom. All towels, beach towels and linens are provided as well as laundry detergent. (Clothes line and pegs are handy for beach towels and swim suits!

Our private location is only minutes from five championship golf courses, fine dining and shopping. Family activities include the world famous sandy Cavendish beach, which we provide you with a complimentary pass, all the attractions of Anne's Land, water slides, deep sea fishing, kayaking, nature trails and so much more..

a wonderful place to stay

If you're looking for a secluded location, this is it. We had all the privacy we could ask for. It's on a quiet, unpaved road, with no neighbors in sight. It truly felt like a home and not just another rental property. Everything about it was comfortable. We would love to stay here again.

Wonderful property

This was an ideal property for families. The yard was amazing for both the kids and dog. As it sits off the main road, it is extremely safe for the children and so peaceful and quiet. We’ve been coming to the island as a family every year for the last several years and I have to say this was the most well equipped home we have rented as far as the kitchen is concerned. As a family of 8, having only one bathroom was a bit of a juggling act, It would be perfect if there was an additional half bath. Otherwise, I would recommend this country charmer to all. Great central location for all your island adventures!

The location is far enough from the city that it is very peaceful, but close enough that it’s convenient to get to with a car. We would definitely come back!

This was a great property. It is hidden away but located equally between Cavendish and North Rustico. The property was wonderful and clearly cared for. The owner, Barb, is a lovely lady! I can see why this property is highly recommended. We plan on comming back next year.

Beatiful Amazing Stay

The views were amazing, the property was quiet and so much room to fly our kites, play lawn games, and for my golden Mosley to run around all day long. Close to Cavendish and lots of activities. The hosts were so kind and courteous. We will be back. =)

Great cottage 😊😊 Highly recommend

Cottage is in a secluded area but very close to the tourist areas of Cavendish & North Rustico. The hosts leave a park pass for you to use for easy, free access to Cavendish beach. Cottage is very roomy. 3 bedrooms with a big living room, kitchen/dining room and laundry area. Plenty of seats for everyone! Everything was clean and in working order when we arrived. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need. Grill on the spacious deck. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating :) Will hopefully be able to visit again!!

Private country getaway!!

We had a nice relaxing getaway at this Lovely private cottage close to many amenities! The view was spectacular and walks on the private property couldn’t have been better. Surrounded by farm land, gorgeous trails and the perfect spot for an evening fire… we really couldn’t ask for more! Barb And Dales took care to make sure the cottage was loaded with everything you need for a home away from home vacation spot. Having the washer and dryer was an added bonus. Cute, clean and lovely cottage, owners are super friendly… this home made for a perfect stay for our time on the island.

Beautiful Country Retreat

My husband and I had a great time at Barb's cottage, nestled in between farms and fields south of Cavendish. Our son enjoyed crawling in the grass, and our dog loved pretending he was a farm dog. The cottage was clean, and had everything we needed. Barb was easy to reach for any questions that came up. We can't wait to return to this quiet and secluded spot next year!

Our PEI home away from home

We've stayed here probably 5 or 6 times over the past 10 years. It is very quiet and tranquil, and has all the amenities you would need (including hair dryer, washer, and a keurig). Conveniently close to Cavendish and North Rustico and a park pass included to go enjoy the beach. Beautiful deck to sit and enjoy a sunset or BBQ.

Quiet spot in nature

Hello! We had a lovely stay. Barb and her husband were friendly and understanding. The location is beautiful. The frequent hummingbirds, fruit to be picked on the property, campfire and comfy seating indoors and outside made our stay very enjoyable. Kitchen has many appliances and cooking utensils. We hope to be back!

Great family spot!

Loved our stay here! It was the perfect fit for our 1 year old, with lots of room both inside and out. Set in a beautiful country location with amble space to explore right on site. Just a 7 minute drive to North Rustico, which has a everything you need (groceries, pharmacy and a few restaurants) not to mention its one of the prettiest towns on the Island. Close to Cavendish attractions and several beaches. Very happy we chose to stay at Barb's, planning on making this our return location!

Just what we needed

Barb's Country Escape was the perfect location for our PEI vacation. We had s'mores almost every night at the firepit, enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, played games in the yard and explored the bike trails among the property. I would definitely go back.

Cavendish's best kept secret!

We could not be happier with our stay at Barb's Country Escape! Dales and Barb went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Loved all the amenities, such as barbecue, washer, dryer, and of course a must have - the Internet. Enjoyed the full sized kitchen in this roomy house. Together with the firepit it was such a peaceful place to relax. Will be back!

The perfect country hide-away.

If you want a quiet country home with all the amenities, this is the place. We were 3 senior women and the 3 bedrooms were perfect for us. The home is very comfortable and spacious and the owners go out of their way to assist. They even found folding lawn chairs for us to take to the beach with a beach pass which they provide. It was great to be able to do laundry and cook for ourselves with all necessary utensils including barbecue provided (and so much more). This is a central spot from which to explore PEI.

Sweet and relaxing oasis of serenity

This lovely little piece of heaven was just what the doctor ordered! So close to everything we could possibly want to see or do, including treks along the beach, walks in the national park, fishing, sight seeing and more... And yet secluded enough for us to get away from it all and enjoy some romantic alone time. We loved it all and can't wait to come back. Owners Barb and Dales simply made the experience perfect. :)

Wonderful retreat but close to everything

We spent a wonderful week in PEI. The cottage was perfect- very clean and comfy. We enjoyed the nice deck and barbaque. It is secluded but yet close to many things such as the Beach and Anne of Green Gable parks. The two cities within 30 minutes. Barb and Dale were great! It is a beautiful Island we would definitely go back to Barb's escape.

wonderful family getaway

we spent a lovely week at the cottage! Owners Barb and Dale could not have been more kind. We all loved the peacefulness of the cottage, set on 90 acres of rolling farmland. our boys, ages 9, 11 and 13 enjoyed running down to fish in the trout pond....and our dog enjoyed running with them. The house is spotless and has everything you need for a comfy stay. Why stay in a tiny cottage in Cavendish when you can have your own private "estate" about 5 miles away! we've rented a LOT of places in the US, Canada, Central America and the UK....this is one of our favorites! truly a 5 star place : )

We are year round Island residents and enjoy the opportunity to rent out our vacation home located on Dales' family homestead. Dales is a lobster fisherman and I operate a small antique shop on Stanley Bridge Wharf.
