Clean & cozy couples cabin close to the Porcupine mountains~Rustic yet modern

This cozy rustic cabin with modern facilities and view of Lake Superior is the perfect base camp for exploring the Porcupine Mountain State Park, swimming in Lake Superior, or riding the trails! Newly remodeled with one queen bed that is open to the kitchen/living space. Linens are provided.

Air-conditioning and Roku TV, Wi-Fi. Bathroom with shower. Kitchen has small refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, griddle, pots/pans, dishes/utensils. There is also a large propane grill on the front porch, outside seating and a fire pit for enjoying a bonfire

What a view!

Everything about the cabin was as pictured. Everything needed was provided. We had such a good time visiting the local beaches. The only thing I would suggest is to add a turnaround in driveway. Not everyone can backup without driving on the grass. Thanks Matt and Brandi for being great hosts.

New Years Stay

The property was very nice! One thing I really enjoyed about this property is how isolated you are. You have a neighbor (second rental property by same owners), but the privacy is still there. My partner and I really enjoyed the property and will be going back soon!

Perfect Holiday Cabin

Enjoyed the Christmas holiday for a second year in this cabin. I can't say enough about the quality and care that the owners give to every detail of comfort and amenities. The place is spotless and expertly decorated.

Perfect cozy getaway

We enjoyed our cozy relaxing stay - although only for a couple days, the sounds of the waves, the birds and the lovely little porch made it just what we needed. Looking forward to staying there again next time we're passing through the Porcupine mountains!

Beautiful UP Stay

We enjoyed the ease of location to the Porcupine Mountains and other waterfall areas we were hoping to visit. The location was quiet and comfortable and the small touches, firewood and kindling for fire, lovely seasonal decorations, and comfortable bed was what we needed for our short stay. Thanks

Perfect Cozy Cabin

My husband and I did a fall colors tour across the UP and we absolutely loved staying at this cozy cabin. Matt and Brandi were fantastic hosts - Matt provided us with extra firewood and Brandi made the check in process smooth. We really enjoyed sitting around the campfire and listening to the sounds of the lake. Convenient location for Lake of the Clouds and Bonanza Falls. Would love to stay here again :)

Wonderful Fall getaway!

Great cozy cabin perfect for me and my husband to celebrate our anniversary! Matt and Brandi are fantastic hosts. Highly recommend them. We went hiking and walked along the Lake Superior shore. Already scheduled our next visit😊

Great location

We chose this property because of its location and proximity with the sights we were looking forward to seeing in the area. It did not disappoint us at all in that regard. We were right outside of the Porkies and close to Bonanza falls. It was an easy drive to see Bond Falls or drive into town. The cabin had most of the necessities that we needed for the stay, even wood for a fire at night. Our only issues were with the mattress (very uncomfortable-my wife preferred sleeping in the chair) and how strong the air freshener was upon arrival. Even after unplugging it and setting it outside the room still reeked. It was incredibly strong and remained after airing out the cabin for a few hours. We got home and our clothes still smelled like the cabin.

Cute little cabin

My husband and I celebrated our 25 year anniversary at this adorable cabin. Everyday we would hike to a new water fall and at night we enjoyed a bonfire while listening to the waves on Lake Superior. The porcupine mountains are just down the road with all the trails and water falls. One night the Northern Lights were visible! We also enjoyed Hunting for yooperlight rocks. The cabin was decorated so cute. They have a binder with all the area attractions to look through. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful cabin

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Very peaceful & quiet. We went to Lk of the Clouds, the Keewanaw Peninsula, Agate beach & relaxed on the Lk Superior shoreline. Slept like a baby here. Very clean. Hosts we’re great & friendly. I felt very secure & happy here. A weight of my shoulders for a week. Highly recommended

Explored the Porcupine Mountain area

We loved this cabin! Our family was staying down the road in an RV park. We wanted to host them for a grilled dinner one evening. Brandi was so thoughtful in providing everything we needed for the extra guests. We enjoyed eating by the fire pit. The RV park our family stayed in wouldn’t allow us to visit our family! (Crazy) So, we ended up hanging out at this sweet little cabin more than once. It was in a quiet location and decorated so cute! We were here for three nights. Brandi quickly responded to any questions we had. Highly recommend!

Fabulous place to stay.

The cabin was such a nice place. It was very clean and cozy. The decorating was done so well. We would highly recommend!!!👍👍 This was yet by far the best place we have stayed!!

About the host

Hosted by Matt & Brandi

I (Brandi) was born and raised in White Pine so I have had Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains in my backyard my whole life. I have 2 adult children.
Matt was born and raised in lower Michigan (Richmond) and always loved to vacation in the UP. Being the hunter and fisherman he is, he relocated here thru his job (Semco) in 2001
Fast forward a few years...we met in 2012 and the rest is history.

Why they chose this property

Rainbow Lodging was originally the End of the Rainbow Restaurant. It served ice cream and broasted chicken and was a popular place to see bears. It had been closed for several years before my Aunt Sharon bought the property in 2011. She turned it into a home for my grandparents (her parents) and a few years later when they relocated she decided to rent it out.
Now its her turn to relocate and with wanting to keep it in the family, we (Matt & I) decided to embark on this exciting yet challenging adventure together
