Beautifully appointed three level, 5 bedroom, 4 bath estate with spectacular ocean views from almost every room. Spacious, open floor plan throughout, formal living area off the entry with a grand piano and two family rooms to enjoy a movie or play games. Enjoy a stroll down to Manresa State beach or even just around the lovely La Selva neighborhood. In the evening cozy around the fire right on the front deck for roasting marshmallows with the family. This home offers a fully equipped kitchen and all other amenities with comfortable beds, linens, plenty of parking and a welcoming atmosphere. This is a one of a kind home that will create memories that will last a lifetime, great for multiple families or small offsite retreats.
Built in swimming pool is automatically heated for mid June to Mid Aug.. Pool heat is NOT available from Nov-May. Pool can be heated during the available off season months of early June, early Aug, Sept and Oct at an additional fee of $500 per stay.

Second floor: Master bedroom with attached bath, full bath with walk in shower, Ocean view room with a king, guest room with a queen, family room with comfortable seating and ocean view as well as a small balcony
Third floor: Large open room with a queen bed, daybed with trundle, kitchenette with sink and small fridge, alcove with two twins and a full bath with tub shower and ocean view.

4 generation summer family vacation

We had four generations from two to 80 years old enjoying each other's company and the house. Beach out front, pool in back. Home was spacious and inviting. Agency was helpful. We enjoyed excursions 30 to 45 up and down the coast. The steps are steep so pack in smaller suitcases. I do see us returning in future years.

Lovely beach house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family gathered for the weekend and had a wonderful stay. Lots of comfy rooms with quality beds and pillows. Great views. Very well appointed kitchen. The decor is a bit dated, but very comfortable and lots of seating. Based in the description we thought there was a hot tub but there isn’t. We were a bit put off by all the signage around the house telling us we might lose our deposit if anything goes wrong. It felt very aggressive so we just made a joke about it. Other than that it was fantastic.

Great stay for family celebration

We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with our 3 adult children and their families, 15 people total. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The house was spacious, clean and everything we needed was there. Being right accross the street from the beach was a huge hit with everyone. We would absolutely love to stay again.

This was an amazing, well supplied, beautiful home which was appreciated and a blessing to all of us. We are a family of 16 so finding a home "next to" the beach accommodating all is quite difficult. Castle by the Sea met our expectations and beyond. Celebrating 54 years of marriage with children and grandchildren is special and we feel grateful to the owners for sharing their beautiful home.

Perfect stay for our 25 anniversary vow renewal!

This home was absolutely perfect for our group! Big kitchen to cook and windows galore. Perfect little nooks for reading and great spaces to gather for food and games. The heated pool was amazing no matter the weather outside. Location couldn’t have been more perfect, don’t forget to catch the amazing sunset! We hope to stay again someday but will cherish our memories until then.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was nice and the location was perfect. It was a quick walk to the beach and the views of the water from the house are fantastic. My issues are with the management. The house has 4 bathrooms but we only used two showers as the top shower would not drain properly and the bottom shower has no water pressure. After we checked out we were given a bill including a $200 charge for blinds in one room that must have been 10 yrs old and didn't work properly the one time we lowered them. Granted we did not think to report this when we checked out. Seems like the management company is charging us to replace 10 year old blinds. Nice location but would not deal with Cheshire Rio again.

Beach Time in Aptos

Great Location

Beautiful home - only downside was that there are a lot of steps to get into the house, so as long as everyone in the group is mobile it is a wonderful place to stay.
