THE LAKE - Cabin on Upper Klamath Lake bay at Point Comfort
Klamath Lake is home to 452 bird species and Eagles are often seen in the trees on the property. In the summer the trout come from all over the 94,000 acre lake into the bay in front of the cabin. These wild trout are a strain of steelhead landlocked in the lake 80 years ago. They average 2-3 pounds and fish over 8 pounds are not uncommon. This is a favorite spot for fly fishermen. There are miles of canoe and kayaking trails throughout the marsh. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and watch the fish jumping in the lake!

PROPERTY and DOCK
The dock will accommodate up to eight average sized boats and comes with a ladder if you happen to jump in. There are 2 peddle boats available for guest use. We have a supply of life jackets. The two acres of land surrounding the cabin are planted in rolling lawns, and natural plant species of the surrounding area. The gardens are beautiful in the spring when the lilac bushes and the flowering trees are in bloom. There are several large rock outcroppings to set off the gentle slope to the lake. We have horse shoes, tether ball, and a basketball hoop.

Harriman Springs Resort is 1/2 mile away with a full bar and dining includes breakfast and lunch with some evenings for dinner, their schedule can change so please check.Lake of the Woods Resort is 8 miles north on Hwy 140, a short 10 minute drive. The Running Y Resort is 15 minutes south on Hwy 140 which features bar and restaurant, convenience store, and a wonderful 18 hole Golf course designed by Arnold Palmer, rated as one of the top 100 in the U.S. Crater Lake is a beautiful drive, just 45 minutes north. Lava Beds National Monument a hour to the south. There is a small store and gas station in Odessa. Take 140 towards Klamath Falls about 1 mile, it is on the left. They have gas, propane, and a full liquor store besides butter, eggs, bread etc. These are just a few of the many things to do in the Klamath Falls area.

Million dollar view...
The cabin is in a beautiful location with a million dollar view IF they would trim the bushes that have grown over the window. Oh how tempted I was to get some pruners! It rained off and on all for 3 of the 4 days we were there so we spent alot of time indoors. It's a shame that we couldn't enjoy the view of the lake. I'm not 100% sure that the cabin had been cleaned before we arrived. The bathroom was skipped for sure. Whiskers in the sink and used dental floss on the trash basket. I did a quick clean myself so that we could be comfortable but for the price we paid this shouldn't have been necessary. Overall the cabin is a nice option if you aren't looking for fancy. It's simple and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lake and surrounding nature. I'd be so happy to see the owners put in a little effort to spruce it up a bit and for the love of all that is holy, TRIM THOSE BUSHES!!! You've got a million dollar view there if you'd just do that one thing.

Water
The propert was great. The view was beautiful but no one told us about the blue algae. We are water people, love to swim but we had to travel somewhere else for that.

Lakeside getaway
2 things stand out -- the lakeside view and quiet area and the super-comfy king sized bed. Both these made the stay worthwhile.

Cabin 1
Property located in a lovely spot. The cabin is quite comfortable though a bit dark and dated. Great shower (water pressure excellent & instant hot water). Absolutely hated the polyester "microfiber" bedding; it's like trying to sleep in a plastic bag, extremely unpleasant.

Lovely cabin overlooking beautiful lake
The cabin had everything we needed. The host and hostess were delightful people and generously took us out on their boat. We were thrilled to see a bald eagle and a sandhill crane in addition to lots of beautiful scenery

Lakeside cabin
Small cabin in a great location. Cabin was clean and comfortable (cold nights required using the wood stove which worked just fine). Location is very nice with lake view and nearby activities. I would certainly stay here again.

A true gem - tranquil and just what the doctor ordered
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2- month journey from Alaska home to Virginia. This whole area is idyllic with beautiful lakes and mountains. The historic cabin had everything we needed - super comfy bed, high speed internet, kitchen appliances/dishes, etc. Communication with the host was easy. The listing description is very accurate and informative, but do be aware the map does not point to the correct location - this is not in Klamath Falls the town, but in the Rocky Point area. We loved the Rocky Point area. We cooked most meals in, but ventured out to some of the area resorts as well. Easy driving distance to beautiful places such as Crater Lake & Lava Beds National Monument . Highly recommend this place!

Kayaker's and birder's paradise.
I've stayed at Point Comfort Cabin#1 at least eight times and I love it! This is a wonderful cabin with a gorgeous view of Upper Klamath Lake and everything you would ever need for a fantastic vacation. The lake is about 40 yards from the cabin and we can leave our kayaks down by the water. We were lucky enough to have the owner staying next door this time and he and his wife could not have done more for us. I hope to keep going back to Point Comfort every year in late May for as long as I am able.

Cozy, calm, and quiet
We loved the cabin & the surrounding property. We all felt an immediate joy upon arrival. The full moon casting sparkling light on the water the first night was almost magical. It was fun imagining all the people who visited the main lodge since the early 1900’s.

Beautiful Location
Location is ideal. View of lake and surrounded by green. Relatively quiet and comfortable. Manager was visible and available to help troubleshoot some minor blips. My rating is a four rather than a five because of cleanliness. Bed in smaller room was unkempt. Makeup smudges on bathroom shelf. Kitchen need deeper cleaning and it seemed no one had vacuumed. Also half the fans in cottage did not work. However, the beds were comfortable and the shower is great.

Down time
If you want a quick quite getaway, this is the place. Cottage is quaint and simple. It is outdated but clean and has great views of the water. We were the only ones in the entire lodge which was abit disconcerting but we tried not to let it bother us (think the wildfires drove people away). The owner was quick to respond to our questions and easy to communicate. One big plus, not too far from Crater Lake.

2 night stay
Overall this was a good property in terms of location and communication with the owner. It is an older cottage, so we did not expect luxury, but it was dirty, and there was an ant infestation. We could not open windows due to the fact that the screens were broken, and of the three fans available only one was functional. No basic amenities such as hand and dishwashing soap were available. I have spoken to the owner, and he seemed responsive to our concerns. I would be sure to speak to him before renting this in the future.

Nice
Overall the stay was nice. The place as fairly clean, what you would expect from a small cottage in the woods. I don't like to just be negative so I will give my cons and than the pros. My only comments are there were lots of bugs inside the home. I think this place would benefit from a deep cleaning and some ant spray around the outside of the property. It would help to keep the bugs out and present a more cleaner environment inside. Also, the shower needs some attention as it backs up if you are in there for more than 5mins. The pros were the views were great, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and the outdoor things like grill, horseshoes, dock, and view were spectacular. I would have wished we could have swam in the lake, but anyone going should know that its filled with green algae and probably not the best place in the area to take a dip. Overall we enjoyed our stay, check in was easy and had a great time with activities in the area. Regards, Alfonso

Beautiful Location
Property was at a beautiful location. Unfortunately the housekeeper never showed up before our stay and the cabin was dirty. Not necessarily the owners fault, but we were told it's happened before. But other than that, the location was amazing and overall the cabin was quaint and cute.
