Great stay
Great property , meant all our needs touring the area and National Scout Jamboree. Is pretty isolated from stores and restaurants. Kids wish they had Wi-Fi but we did have cell service with both At+t and Verizon. The hosts were on site and very helpful and friendly.

Great location & wonderful hosts.
We had a 20 member family vacation & chose this location for something new and different. We were not disappointed. Our Hosts were friendly, courteous and helpful. The property is located near many outdoor activities which we took full advantage of. Some of our group suffered withdrawal symptoms because there wad no Wi-Fi or internet, and the cell phone reception was in & out. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the farm animals and feeding them. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a big house to accommodate a large group. Fun for all!

The property actually looks better in person than online photos.
I enjoyed my stay here. I visit WV 1-2 times a year to go whitewater rafting and this was my first time staying here. I like the accommodations- beds were soft and the water was hot even with 22 ppl staying there. The location was a little farther away from town than I’d like but other than that we enjoyed our weekend get away.

Great place for a large group!
A wonderful place to stay. The pictures don’t do justice to how gorgeous and spacious the place is! It makes you feel right at home. There is plenty of room and all the accommodations that you need for a large group. The kitchen is amazing for cooking for all the people too. We stayed two nights for my friend’s 30th birthday. One night was family night and all of our friends were able to stay the second night. It was perfect for either! Two gorgeous summer nights. The large covered porch still made it possible to enjoy the evening outside when it rained. We had so much fun and won’t forget how generous our hosts were for providing a wonderful, private place like this to celebrate.

Our family reunion was a huge success. The cabin indeed matches the photos & Mr. Toney is extremely cordial & helpful, the cabin was spotless & grounds were neat and clean. We were at full capacity & still were not at all crowded. I would HIGHLY recommend renting this for large gatherings.

Spectacular Family Celebration
Our family of 30 stayed at the Ponderosa Lodge to celebrate my parent's 60th wedding anniversary as well as a family reunion. We had a fantastic week. We loved the spacious front porch and spent a lot of time out there. The great room and kitchen area were also large enough to accommodate our large group. We used the kitchen daily and if we needed something we asked for it and they found it or purchased it for our use. The family is very nice and helpful and we enjoyed getting to know them. We love the area and all of the family had a great time exploring the nearby activities. Hopefully we can come back in the future!

Family Reunion
Our family of 22 enjoyed the ponderosa lodge. The weather was a bit unpredictable but we had a wonderful time in the lodge, playing cards, ping pong, air hockey and board games. The front porch was great for us to gather when the rains came. We all enjoyed the spacious kitchen and dining room. Ken, Joreen and Liam were wonderful hosts and directed us to nearby parks and recommended great trails for us to hike. Our little boys really liked the baby chicks they got to hold. It was a beautiful area of West Virginia. Thanks

Thank you for a beautiful week end.
We have been priviledged to stay at the Ponderosa Lodge numerous times over the years. Each time we've stayed the hospitality has always been warm and welcoming. The lodge is beautiful, comfortable, peaceful, and ideally situated in the mountains of WV. Each season has a particular beauty, and there is no better place to enjoy any season than at the lodge. We would highly recommend the lodge to any one.

Successful Family Reunion
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Ponderosa Lodge. It accomodated all 24 of us, from the ages of 3 to 87. The dining room held all of us, and the kitchen facilities were more than adequate. The living room had numerous couches and chairs, and the fireplace and wood stove were always kept going by the host during our Thanksgiving stay. No complaints about the beds, and my back didn't hurt after sleeping there 4 nights. The few small problems we found were quickly taken care of by the owner. He was helpful and friendly, and willing to show us around the farm and property. A great value, I would recommend this property to anyone who visits this area.

A must for any large group who wants personalized attention.
We a group of 25+ spent our last Christmas in Ponderosa and my oh my!! That place is something but more so the owners. Ken , Joreen and even lil Liam are great hosts. The reason I am writing a review this late is because I wanted to do justice to the hospitality by taking time to explain rather than pen a fast one. Every morning, Ken would get up at five a.m. and prepare fresh muffins , bread etc. Nothing like fresh coffee and an array of food waiting for a hungry bunch of adults, kids and grandparents. We had three generations there and each of them with strong opinions!! The place satisfied everyone of them. The place is HUGE!! Lists of place , land, bedrooms , bathrooms . The best thing about this palce is that hosts do not look at you as customers who bring in money. They don't count every pie. We used so many of their supplies and when we requested to pay them, they refused to accept anything. They are a bunch of great , nice people, who want to please their guests not for monetary purposes but for the love of having them and the sincerity to want to give their guests the best. They live in the building away from the guest quarters . They are easily accessible if we need extra stuff and go out of their way to fulfill it. Lists if activities nearby , incase you want to go for it. But, we had so much fun in the lodge and farm that we just took a few hours to visit the local attractions. You will see for yourself how vacationers have been repeat guests for many years. We would have gone there again ( and maybe will) except for the fact that a few families in our group have moved and the driving distance for them , now, is long. And , also, each bedroom has an attached bathroom!!! The loft is a perfect hideout for teenagers. They have tons of board games and a TAble Tennis table. Believe me, you will surprised at how generous the owners are!! You have to experience it to know it!!
