About this property

Mount Desert Island Waterfront. Acadia National Park.

Located in the midst of Acadia National Park, on Mount Desert Island, this private, self-contained. waterfront suite is luxurious and caters to those who love wildlife, water, and tranquility. Located on Seal Cove, just steps from the beach, the view is spectacular and is considered "one of the best locations on MDI to watch the sun set."

Bring or rent a kayak to explore the outer islands and their conservation trails or spend the day in the park knowing you have a quiet, immaculate suite to return to - surrounded by hundreds of acres of virgin forest.

Seal Cove is four miles from the restaurants, shopping, and marina of Southwest Harbor, and fifteen miles from the bustling hub of Bar Harbor. Just two miles away are the hiking trails of Acadia's Western Mountains. Just beyond are Echo Lake and Long Pond (where you can rent kayaks and canoes).

Enjoy waking to bird song, seeing resident bald eagles, seal, wild turkey, and deer. If you are a writer, artist, or musician, a screened-in pergola in the woods offers a magical setting to create.

Step through double, sliding-glass doors into your own living room complete with sofa, chairs, a large, flat-screen television with Roku, and a separate food and beverage nook. This is an independent unit. Set up for the person or couple who prefer to start their morning with Nespresso coffee or tea and end their day with a glass of wine and cheese platter, the bar/coffee station with fridge is perfect.

A hallway that has doors to the shower and a separate powder room (with a view) leads to your king-sized bed in the master suite on Seal Cove. Open the screened doors and windows to smell the ocean and sea roses as you enjoy coffee in bed with a good book and/or someone you love.

Home away from home
We had the best experience staying in Jennifer's VRBO! Everything was impeccably clean. The bedding was comfortable and inviting after long days of hiking. This place had everything we needed to rest between our adventures. Jennifer made us feel at home and was a very kind and gracious host. It was wonderful making a new friend! And DO NOT miss out on the opportunity to gaze at the starry night skies right outside! AMAZING!

Absolutely quiet with a gorgeous view
This was out 1st trip to Maine and our 1st VRBO. Was a wonderful experience staying at Jennifer’s place. Her location was great for us! Staying along the waterfront with a quiet serene atmosphere. Her home was just as pictured, beautifully decorated, nice bed, and wonderful amenities for us. She recommended places to eat and see. She’s a wonderful hostess and accommodating to what she can do for you. Jennifer thanks for the warm welcoming and having us celebrating our upcoming anniversary you made it special. Tim and Cindy

Beautiful location and property
The property is located on a quiet cove, in a beautiful location on the quiet side of the island. This was perfect for us as we like to be away from the crowds. The whole island is easily accessible from this location. Everything about the property was spectacular. We chose this property both for the location and also from the other reviews noting the comfortable bed. The bed was very comfortable, as was the main living area. Jennifer has nicely decorated the unit and has everything you would want (minus a full kitchen). We ate breakfast using the toaster, microwave, and coffee maker, and that worked well for us. We spent the day sightseeing and hiking and ate our main meal at lunch or early afternoon. In the evening we ate at our lodging. This worked perfectly for our schedule. The Wifi worked well, which was important as we didn't have great cell signal. The view from Jennifer's screened in porch was beautiful, including the spectacular sunset before Hurricane Lee passed by. Jennifer made sure we had everything we needed in case we lost electricity. We enjoyed the opportunity to talk to Jennifer and get to know her a little. Thank you Jennifer for making our first trip to Maine so special! Elaine and Ron

AWESOME
We absolutely loved Seal Harbor. Jennifer out host was so kind and helpful . We brought our Keurig pods but she only had a expresso machine . When she saw the Keurig pods on the bar, she went out and purchased a Keurig machine without us even asking. SO KIND and THOUGHTFUL .. My husband and I travel alot and this was one of the cleanest , places we have stayed. The views are stunning also. I would def return here. Bar Harbor is a tourist trap but a lovely town. We loved Bar Harbor whale watching tour . We went out for 4 hours and saw 3 whales, dolphins and seals. I would recommend the tour but be early to get a seat . Even though we did not have a kitchen to cook , there was a small fridge , we managed to adapt b/c we were on vacation and did not want to cook anyway and chose to enjoy the small town diners.

Divinity when we needed it the most
The property is beautiful inside and out. We received tragic news our first morning there, and our host Jennifer provided us a harbor. Her kindness and wisdom helped us through our stay. Of course, VRBO wants to know about the property. We especially appreciated all the quality touches. Fresh garden flowers throughout the unit. Tasteful and personal touches in the decor. The small appliances are high quality, and that really makes a difference. All in all, it is a remarkably peaceful and relaxing spot of divine peace. Absolutely the best VRBO rental we’ve ever been to.

10 year Anniversary
This was just the perfect place for our 10 year anniversary. We could not have asked for a better hostess, Jennifer really helped to make this the comfortable, peaceful getaway we really needed! The sunsets are amazing, the beach and waves are literally steps away and the sounds of the birds and the water really help to take your stress away. The location is perfect. We highly recommend a stay here, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Jennifer!

Truly a gift . . .
What a serene sanctuary in the heart of Acadia. We were pampered in every way - luxurious bedding, an espresso from the maker in our room, soft towels, an incredible shower, and such a sense of peace. At night, you could hear the waves of Seal Cove and sometimes hear the loons. Sunset is a gift. Jennifer makes you feel so at home and cared for. She has the soul of an artist (ask about her book!) which resonates throughout this "gift of place". A five- star experience, hands down. So grateful to have found this special place.

A quiet stay on the quiet side
The unit was beautiful with lots of charm. The property is right next to the cove, where there is little traffic or tourists. If you are looking for an elegant place to stay and rejuvenate between long hikes are other outdoor activities this is the place to stay. Local restaurants and stores are around 15 mins drive away and Bar Harbour is 30.

Quiet Corner of Acadia
The property is the bottom floor of a house, with a living room, bedroom, and bath. Jennifer was very welcoming and helpful. The property is about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor, which was blessing because it avoids the crowds. But it is easy to get to some great hikes.

Quintessential Maine experience
This is an extraordinary property. The house is just across the very quiet street from the ocean. The view from the screened porch is fabulous. What truly separates this property from others is the elegance of the care, design and elegance of the appointments and furniture. This is a truly 5 star accommodation. Location is superb 10 minutes from Southwest Harbor, and 30 minutes from Bar Harbor but this area of Mount Dessert well deserves its name as the "Quiet Side".

Cozy comfort in a lovely setting - inside and out!
Host and owner Jennifer met us in the driveway and gave us an orientation to the beautiful apartment in the ground level of her waterfront home. For those who want a quiet getaway near Acadia and Bar Harbor, this exquisitely decorated and comfortable place was our haven after busy days of hiking, shopping, whale watching, etc. We weren't trying to do our own meals, so the small fridge and microwave were all we needed. Jennifer is welcoming and engaging; she encouraged us to use the screened porch on the second level for the sunset and views of Seal Cove. A perfect week and place for our time on Mt Desert Island.

Secluded Quiet hideaway
Jennifer's house is hidden behind the bushes which stand tall in front of the amazing water view. The area is super quiet and secluded if you're looking for a getaway from the house. The apartment like floor is 10x better than any hotel I've ever stayed at! Don't forget a screened in porch up top is included and you can watch the Sunday flicker across the water as it sets behing the mountain. Will likely stay again in the future!

A Slice of Paradise in Seal Cove
Our stay was absolutley perfect. The property is located in pristine Seal Cove on the quite side which is very tranquill and peacefull. The unit is immaculate and extremely well appointed. However, the best part of our stay was meeting our host Jennifer who is very kind and generous. Jennifer made us feel like a part of her extended Acadia family and being a Bar Harbor native s has intimate knowledge about everything Acadia. My Wife and I now feel we have a dear friend in Maine. Thanks for everything Jennifer.

MDI in the Spring
We truly enjoyed our stay on Mt Desert Island in Jennifer's suite. The space is clean, comfortable, accommodating to conveniences we are accustomed to. (coffee) The air is refreshing, the views during sunset are lovely. This space was perfect for two us, we took daytrips to various parts of the National Park and enjoyed Bar Harbor. It was more than a comfortable place to recharge during low tide before our late afternoon/evening plans. Sleep comes easily when you have been oxygenated and are in a comfortable bed. Make sure to get up in the middle of the night and check out the stars - you can almost touch them! We are very appreciative of Jennifer for allowing us to experience her awesome space and look forward to coming back. This was our first trip to Maine, but it will not be our last.

Absolutely wonderful! Everything you could ask for to enjoy beautiful Mount Dessert Island!
This was an anniversary trip for my wife and I. Staying here was like staying at an upscale resort right on the ocean, but secluded enough to only hear the ocean waves and the birds. All of the upscale details really made our stay enjoyable. Everything from the beautiful landscape on the property with the amazing views from the deck and the sitting room to the fine details of the layout, beautiful marble shower, furnishings, local art work, fresh flowers, extremely clean and fresh scented linens and towels . You can tell the host really cares about providing the most pleasant experience for the guests. They provided great suggestions for restaurants, hikes, and attractions. The mini bar area worked out perfectly for us, it has a kettle for making hot tea, a mini fridge with small freezer, a microwave, toaster, stocked with plenty of plates and utensils. We just can’t wait to go back! At the end of every day’s outing we always looked forward to going back to this place for a hot shower, watching the sunset and a great nights rest! It is just like the pictures posted, you will not be disappointed! Thanks, Matt & Mikala

Tranquil Luxury for Two Overlooking Seal Cove with it’s Peaceful Maritime and Wildlife Activity
A thoughtfully designed property, luxuriously furnished and appointed to enhance a restful vacation. The boat launch at Seal Cove was less than a then minute walk away and a great place to start the day with a cup of coffee in hand [Nespresso machine at property]. Located on the southwestern side of MDI, it was an easy journey to visit Acadia National Park, Long Pond and Bass Harbor lighthouse. The property owner was extremely welcoming, exceptionally accommodating, very resourceful and a real pleasure to meet. We would absolutely stay at this property again.
