Wonderful property and wonderful area!

This was a great place to stay! We enjoyed the area and the chalet was very spacious. Provided us with everything we needed. Great host! We cannot wait to come back again.

Treehouse feel in the loft

Extended Memorial Day Weekend with teen son and two chihuahuas. We visited primarily to see historic and family sites in the Schellsburg/New Paris/Bedford areas. Also visited Somerset and Laurel Hill State Park as well as Shawnee State Park. Nice location on the golf course; plenty of space; well-stocked kitchen and a Dollar store down the road with groceries. Wasn't clear on what community amenities we were allowed to use and what the community rules were besides quiet hours--rental guidance simply said go ask at the marina. Guests shouldn't have to do that. Steep and narrow stairs. Dirty carpet and furniture. Exterior needs work. Lattice or other privacy barriers would be better on the lower patio. Large living area windows need to be cleaned or replaced. Lock on upstairs bathroom still doesn't work (has been reported by other reviewers).

Was wonderful back patio great for grilling and relaxing after golf courses close by one is walking distance close enough to the lodge to walk two bathrooms fully loaded kitchen our stay was SWEET

Very Nice Chalet

The chalet was very nicely decorated. It had lots of room. It was very clean. It was very well-stocked with towels, pillows, dishes, laundry supplies, dish soap, etc. The bed was comfortable. The towels are good quality. The cell phone service (we have Verizon) was excellent. The wi-fi was also good. It was very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our time there.

Family wedding accommodations

We booked the Lucky 7 chalet for our family to be together while we attended a wedding weekend at The Lodge. It was perfect! Peaceful. Private rooms for each of our little families. The family that scored the large loft bedroom in as super stoked… king bed, junior bed, giant Jenga and Connect Four! Lots of other classic games for quiet time. Our room had a nursery attached. Kitchen was well-equipped. Two baths were just enough for our busy weekend. Just a short walk to the Lodge too!

Wonderful

Loved the location next to the golf course. Hike to the dock was a bit tough so drove most of the time. Hard to rent a boat so bring your own! The host was always checking to be sure accommodations were in order. Had a few family members visit during my stay and they also loved the property 👍

Chalet #7 OK

Chalet looked unkept at door entrance as far as weeds and contimued that appearance inside. House was musty on lower level where the two bedrooms were. Could benefit with dehumidifier. Carpet stained . Silverware holder, my husband removed silverware and cleaned the holder and emptied collection of crumbs. Pots and pans appeared thrown in cupboard in total disarray. Large pan needed cleaned before cooking along with needing replaced or thrown out. Slept upstairs in loft due to musty beds downstairs. Bed and furniture comfortable. Patio outback nice after cleaned all chairs and table. Enjoyed the area. Golf course nice and walke dog early and late there. !Appreciated washer and dryer and house supplied well.We have been on a road trip this summer and this place was our only disappointment regarding our VRBO stays.

Great camp

We really enjoyed our stay! The owners clearly put in a lot of work in updating the property. We would suggest doing the windows next. We had a variety of weather while we stayed, including cool evenings, breezy warm days, and rain. All of which would have been nice to have the windows open. Only one window opened. The screens in all of the doors were broken or had holes. We will certainly be back to enjoy the hidden gem of Indian Lake.:)

Mountain Ridge trip

This place is a little dated but very nice, spacious and very clean. And only a couple three miles from trails. Has all the necessities to make you feel like you're at home. Beautiful view of hole one on the golf course.

Relaxing PA getaway

My wife and I wanted to take a short getaway for her birthday and this didn’t disappoint. The property was very clean, spacious, had a great view of the golf course and the host Mike was extremely responsive and helpful. Access to their dock and lake was a very nice plus. We were able to take in a couple of beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing place to getaway.

Holiday travel

The property fit our needs quite well. The coffee bar was a nice touch. The kids loved the loft and games— especially the giant connect four and Jenga. There was plenty of space for the 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. Mike was very courteous and always quick to respond. We would stay here again.

The Effort is Noted!

We had two families staying here with toddler children each and this home was great for them. The baby gates, the crib, even the head cushions going down the stairs, a lot of little things add up to make an enjoyable stay. The deck with the grill and fire table were very nice also. The only surprise was the location of the house and the dock. The house is not on the lake - it is on the first hole of the golf course so wandering golfers could be walking by; and the dock is not next to the house - it is a 12 minute walk away. This was not clear with the description. However, we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely consider staying again. The host was very courteous in preparation for our arrival as well.

Perfect Family Get Together

The chalet was absolutely perfect! We needed a place to gather after our Mom's celebration of life and this place was perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and relax and the kitchen was extremely well-stocked and appointed. Loved the natural wood island! The location was an easy walk to the lodge as well. Bambi & Mike are doing it right and I would recommend their place to anyone visiting the area!

Warmer weather would have allowed us to use the cozy deck with fire pit and gas grill… we’ll have to plan earlier than October next time! Nice chalet

Nice location on a golf course. The chalet was good size for the 2 of us and our dog. It was well equipped and all of the appliances worked fine. Overall we had a great time and would stay here again if we travel to this area again.

Why they chose this property

We've been going to Indian Lake for years. It's a truly special place for families as it offers tons of out outdoor fun during the day and tranquility at night. The lake itself is extremely clean and perfect for swimming and fishing. The small and private community gives Indian Lake a quaint feel, compared to some of the larger, more populated lakes in the area. Spending time at Indian Lake feels like a relaxing family experience, not a wild party, and that's why we'll be going for years to come with our family and friends.

What makes this property unique

Indian Lake is a great place for year round living or your mountain vacation hideaway. Indian Lake is a private lake. It is a 5-mile long horseshoe, 750 acres in area with 20 miles of shoreline. In addition to The Lodge, which we like to say is the hub of the lake community, there is the Northwinds Golf Course and Indian Lake Marina. The Northwinds Peninsula Club is another 18 hole golf course less than 2 miles away and was the very first golf course designed by Arnold Palmer.

Other local attractions are the Mountain Ridge ATV Park and Flight 93 Memorial. Indian Lake is also one of the cleanest lakes in Pennsylvania and is great for boating, fishing, swimming, and water skiing during the spring and summer, and a scenic wonderland in the fall and winter.
