Lay Lake Cabin @ Piney Point on Peckerwood Creek!

Built in 2020, this lake cabin is perfect for relaxing off the beaten path. Three bedroom, two bath with semi-open living and dining area is great for hanging out. Lots of great natural light to let the lake views in! Large front porch and stone patio invite you to just be outside and soak it all in! Or you can go to the main boathouse and spend the day getting some sun, fishing, or swimming. Separate pier on the other side of the point is also excellent for a fish or swim. Water is 8' deep off the end of the docks, perfect for swimming. Home has DISH TV for rainy days. Just 10 minutes from Pursell Farms, it's perfect for golfers or wedding guests who wants to be close by but have a private house on the water all to themselves. Book today!

Restful event weekend

We wanted a relaxing place to stay while in town for a busy event weekend. This home was exactly what we needed. The early mornings by the lake were absolutely beautiful. We have plans to visit again just for fun.

Lay low on Lay Lake

House on the lake

This is a sweet home nestled in the woods on the lake. Modern design and very functional. Fabulous lake view with a dock. My family enjoyed our stay!!

Graduation Trip

My husband and I rented the cabin for our son’s high school graduation trip. The cabin was wonderful, clean, completely stocked with everything imaginable, peaceful, and perfect for my little family. We played golf at Pursell Farms which was spectacular and Coosa Pines. We also visited Imerys - Gantt's Quarry Observation Point and Kymulga Grist Mill. When we weren’t golfing or sightseeing, we were relaxing on the deck, swimming, and grilling at the cabin. I highly recommend the cabin if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It was great, and we would definitely stay again.

Spectacular

This is the one! Stop scrolling. We have stayed here twice and each time has been fantastic. This house is spotless and wonderfully organized. John and Kay have thought of everything. There are thoughtful hooks on the wall for keys and hanging clothes. Even the chairs on the porch have cup holders and a place for your phone. The master bed is so comfortable, it will have you rethinking your mattress at home. The view is spectacular! The house is situated perfectly; you can soak in all the warm colors of the sunset right from the deck. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, this is it! Book it and let John and Kay take care of you.

Perfect Getaway!!

Piney Point was the perfect getaway!!! Easy check in, clean, beautifully decorated home. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need!! The peaceful location was just what we needed to unwind and make memories!! The porch was perfect for listening to the birds and enjoying the view!! The kids got to enjoy swimming in the lake!! Amazing Place!

Our stay was perfection! The home was immaculate and had everything we needed! The view was gorgeous and location was close enough to town to go grab a bite to eat if we wanted to. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to again!

Nice location with beautiful view

Property was nice, clean with comfortable beds and a nice view. Unfortunately while I was there a building was being torn down and burned nearby. The burned rubber smell was too strong to allow us to be outside and construction was very loud. It’s not the property owner’s fault and I didn’t deduct for it but wanted to post for awareness that burning near the water can occur. One suggestion for the owners is to add some storage or a suitcase stand to the master bedroom. The closet is kept locked, so I had to keep my clothes in a suitcase on the floor. There are 4 brackets where you can hang some items, but it’s not sufficient for a multi-day stay.

Meet me in the middle girls outing

Piney Point on Peckerwood Creek at Lay Lake in Sylacauga, Alabama (say that 3 times fast) was absolutely breathtaking. This was a trip to bring 2 sisters together planned by their daughters. It was a halfway point for the group. Our hosts went above and beyond to ensure that we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The property was stunning and very comfortable. Fun, Relaxing Family Retreat

We had a great time staying at the Lay Lake Cabin! The back porch is great for the enjoying the scenery. Great living space and bedrooms. My daughters (3 yo, 1 yo) had a great time swimming in the water and catching lizards around the property. Would recommend to any family looking to get away and enjoy some quality family time. Although there is no wifi, we were able to bring a hotspot from our library and have wifi while at the cabin without issue!

Wedding Weekend

My daughter got married at Pursell Farms, so I wanted to be able to stay as close to the property as possible. I found this amazing VRBO just 10 minutes up the road. It turned out to be the perfect place for me to relax and unwind. When my friend and I walked through the front door, we couldn’t stop chatting about how much we loved it. John was so helpful and friendly as a host. I can assure you, this place will not disappoint! ❤️❤️❤️

Great property

It was a very nice place and great property. I would suggest staying here based off that, but make sure everything is perfect when you leave. Don’t leave any wet towels next to bedding.

Very Peaceful Stay

We enjoyed a very peaceful stay and John's place on Lake Lay. The place is just the right fit for us, and we could have had a couple other guests and have had plenty of room. The home is nicely appointed, looks to be fairly new, great docks, back deck, firepit area, perfect views, and so, so peaceful. Just the mental break I needed right now.

We (John and Kay) live outside of Birmingham, Alabama on a mini farm. We LOVE the lake and how when we get here, it's always hard to leave! We bought this house brand new in 2021 and have put a lot of work in the landscaping and exterior spaces to get it to the place where it is now- and it's time to share the place with others!

Why they chose this property

Less than 30 minutes from 280 and just 10 minutes from Pursell Farms, it's close enough to civilization while also feeling rural. We've loved being on the creek instead of the main channel because boat traffic is very minimal and it's a fun, safe place to be on the water. Lots of great shade and good water to swim and fish in. Perfect to relax and get away from it all!
