The cottage is over 200 years old and was lovingly restored by my husband and myself. in 1988. The cottage garden is a big favourite with our guests.

Aisling cottage is over two hundred year old and the original family were stone masons which counts for the wonderful craftsmanship in its building.
Aisling it self means dream poem. We are never surprised by the creative people that our home attracts. We have many return guests who just fall in love with this little cottage

Earlier this year the cottage got a facelift and now has two separate spaces to let. This larger original apartment 'Aisling' sleeps 5. Two doubles and one single, there are two bathrooms. One on the ground floor and one on the first floor.
In the spacious living room one of the main features is the original fireplace which still stands and now hosts an excellent Baltic wood burning stove. We have WIFI TV with Netfleix (but you must use your own password log in)

The fully equipped kitchen the heart of the traditional cottage complete with antique dresser, oil burning stove providing central heating and gas cooker and microwave.
The utility room has a washer and dryer.

There is also a wealth of Archeological sites to discover in this area. There are guided walking tours with the reknowned guide Mary O Dea Hidden Burren Walks. The famous Flaggy Shore with it's spectacular view of Galway Bay is just 3 miles away - here you will find Linnane’s Seafood Restaurant and Bar - traditional music still thrives in the Burren region and Pub sessions can be found most nights in both Kinvara and Ballyvaughan.
Aisling Cottage is ideally located to explore not just the Burren region, as it is just a 45-minute drive from Galway City and the Gateway to Connemara. Day trips from Doolin are available to the world famous Aran Islands.
Beautiful safe beaches within a mile or two of the cottage. Surfing is also hugely popular in Fanore, just a half an hour drive away.
Golfing at the world famous Lahinch Golf links. The home is large and spacious allowing for privacy and quiet moments.
The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the warm bread and welcome smile. The tour with Mary arranged by Connie was the highlight of our trip. Thanks so much! We couldn't have had a better week in the Burren.

Lovely home base for our 4 months in Ireland
Aisling cottage was our home base on and off for about 11 weeks between mid June and mid October 2014, with trips away to participate in music festivals and see some other parts of the west of Ireland. We loved staying in the cottage and each time we returned it was like coming home. On warm days we sat out in the garden and late in the summer when it was cooler loved the cosy living room with the turf fire. Our hosts Sean and Connie were very welcoming and a great source of information on the locality (including blackberry picking!) and especially, our main interest, the local vibrant traditional music scene. We loved the surprise treats that Connie would pop over with for afternoon tea, and also tea and chats with Connie in her kitchen. Thankyou Connie and Sean for the use of your lovely cottage this summer.

Lovely stay at Aisling Cottage!
My husband and daughter and our friends had an amazing stay at Aisling Cottage. Connie was such a gracious host with plenty of great recommendations for the area. The cottage is beautiful and unique, like a work of art. We really enjoyed having meals at the table outback, taking in the view of all the different flowers in the garden. The location was also great for exploring all The Burren has to offer! It was such a special stay and we really hope to return again sometime.

Amazing Aisling Cottage
Myself and husband had a wonderful holiday at the amazing Aisling Cottage. When we walked in we felt at home immediately. There is a wonderful calming atmosphere in the house that wraps it's arms around you and assures you that everything will be ok. It's a quiet oasis of peace and tranquility, yet close enough to amenities. We slept great from the very first night and honestly didn't want to leave when the week was up. Connie who owns the property lives next door and while always available to answer any questions or give us recommendations of where to see and eat, she was never intrusive. She is a wonderfully warm, kind lady who will do anything to make sure you have a good time. We honestly didn't want to leave and would hope to spend time at the cottage again. Thanks Connie.

Fabulous purple cottage
The purple cottage is the perfect base for a west Ireland stay. Connie is a wonderful host and the property could not be more charming. Walk from your driveway down to the water in the evening after a day of discovering all that the Burren, Galway, and Doolin have to offer. A truly lovely experience. Thank you!

Not what we expected
This property was disappointing and did not match previous reviews or the listing which gave the impression of being welcomed by tea and treats but that was not the case. The place was cleaned but not thoroughly as in the living room was covered in cobwebs and you always expect a few but this was bad. It also smelled super damp so we didn’t even use that area. There was another room at one end of the house that thankfully we didn’t need to use but if we had it had a window crawling with flying ants. Also this room was above what we were told was an office used by one of the owners and as this was a whole house rental that was not disclosed. There were no visible smoke alarms or carbon monoxide alarms. The sink tap is broken and held in place by silicone and does not appear to be on plan to get fixed. Gas stove was not great to light. Had to ask for toilet paper and paper towel and the kitchen had some condiments with dates from 2013! There was feces from some outside animal just left on a window ledge I could not understand how no one addressed it. I would not stay here again and it needs some serious issues addressed.

Garden of the gods.
Connie met us with a very warm smile, Buttons and Home made cup cakes. It's May and Connie probably has the greenest thumb I've every seen. Every plant in her garden (football field size yard) was blooming and bursting with colors. The birds were singing. We could walk down to Bell Harbor on our own little private road. Questions were answered immediately. She introduced us to her friend, an 8th generation local who brought us on personal tours of the Burren. Simply Amazing. Thank You

The Burren is such an exceptional landscape, and at the end of the lane was an estuary with curlew and other wonderful birds. The cottage itself was delightful, very colourful and warm - and excellent hosts on hand next door.

Simply Magical!
The cottage is a bit hard to find in the dark, so make sure you arrive during daylight hours. Such a charming and well appointed getaway location! Everything is cozy and tidy, and the kitchen is well stocked. A perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle. Very nice location that makes a perfect home base for exploring the area and taking splendid day trips. The owners are quite friendly and welcoming. We had to cut our trip a few days short, but we will absolutely be back!

Home away from home
We stayed here for 5 days with 2 young children. The hosts were fabulous to us during our stay. When any issues or queries were raised it was apparent they really cared. The house itself is in an excellent location in West Ireland, is spacious throughout and the pictures are a true reflection of the accommodation. It really felt like home during our stay and I left feeling like we could have easily stayed a couple of extra days. Thank you Connie and Sean

Amazing retreat
Words cannot describe the peace and positivity that surrounds this cottage and the Burren. The cottage was even nicer than the pictures and Connie and Sean were incredibly kind and helpful. The “fairies” even brought us delicious baked treats twice during our stay bringing an extra touch of magic to the trip in our daughters’ eyes. We also found the location to be perfect for exploring the region. I recommend taking a walk with Mary and anything else Connie recommends. We took her up on most of her suggestions and were always happy we did. Thank you Connie and Sean for an amazing holiday!

This area of the Burren was so special to us for its music, beautiful walks, stunning coastline and warm friends and neighbours We would love to have you join us on your next holiday to Ireland.

Why they chose this property

My late husband and I both fell in love with the area before we met each other and by the time I met Sean, he had found and bought all two walls, a chimney and a half acre of wilderness. He had left it sit for a few years until I came along. Then together with help from good friends we slowly renovated the cottage. To be honest the whole place has been a labour of love. We were always planning and scheming about what needs doing next. Sean passed away in 2021 but I continue to live and love Aisling for all the wonderful memories it has provided and the good times to come.

What makes this property unique

One of the first thing that seems to appeal to our guests time and time again is the warm peaceful energy that the cottage and garden holds. The cottage has always been a home for creative people it is a place that feeds and inspires the imagination.
Amongst the top five things that visitors like to do while visiting the Burren is a guided walk with Mary O Dea Hidden Burren Walks
These guided walks are lead by a women who can trace her Burren roots back eight generations. Her knowledge of the traditional methods of Farming and protecting this special area makes a walk a wonderful experience and a must for anyone who wants to get the inside track on Burren life past and present.
