About this property

A private, bright and spacious Cottage - perfect for a relaxing break and ideally located for exploring the surrounding areas.
Ideal base for touring: the Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, Aran Islands, The Burren, Co Clare, Cong, Galway City.
Situated in a rural area, just 10/15 minutes drive from Galway City centre.
3 minutes drive to restaurants, pubs and shops in local village.
Galway City Centre (Eyre Square) is 5 miles (8km) away.
Galway Race Course (Ballybrit) is 3 miles (5km) away.

Spacious, peaceful, cosy, self contained Charming Irish Country Cottage. There is a large and comfortable open-plan living / dining / kitchen area with all modern appliances.

Amenities: Oil central heating with stone fireplace and multi- fuel stove. Fuel, power and starter pack for fire, bed linen, towels, and WiFi.
Two USB sockets to charge phone in Livingroom.

Kitchen is well equipped with coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher and hob.
Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, microwave, iron and ironing-board.

A welcome pack is provided.

Two bedrooms: one on ground floor with a comfortable 5ft kingsize bed, (US queen) and upstairs another kingsize 5ft bed (US queen) with ensuite bathroom. It sleeps four people comfortably.
Main bathroom downstairs with walk in shower, wash hand basin and toilet.
There is a garden to the side of the cottage with garden furniture. The Cottage is surrounded by a hedge and enclosed with a gate as well as off road parking.

The property can sleep 4 pax maximum.

NO pets allowed and NO smoking in the Cottage.

NOT suitable for young children as bedrooms are not located on the same floor.
There are no facilities for infants/young children at the Cottage.

We live close by and are available to assist you, if required, during your stay.

There is a side walk/footpath to the local village which is 1 mile (2km) away.
It has a pub, two hotels, two cafés, two supermarkets, a Church, a post office and a number of shops.
As the Cottage is situated in a rural area, a car is recommended for getting around.

Stunning cottage

The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Right out of a magazine. Our stay was comfortable and the location was perfect for rides to City and to the surrounding areas that we toured.

Galway cottage

Very clean and well appointed. The owners even supplied things like coffee, milk, bread, orange juice, etc. which was very convenient. I would definitely stay there again.

Adorable Cottage for a nice escape from city

It's exactly as described. It's in the country but not too far from Galway by taxi. We were easily able to walk a mile to a decent restaurant. Hostess replied immediately to any inquiries. If you don't have a car like us, it's still doable. Taxis are 10 min away. House is spotless and very nicely decorated!

Wonderful well appointed cottage!

The location is great - in a lovely neighborhood surrounded by farms and minutes from groceries, pub with excellent food and everywhere you want to go. The 200 year old cottage has all the modern amenities- yet retains the charm and quaintness of the past. The hosts were lovely - Make sure you read the book the host has put together - it’s full of history of the region and fantastic recommendations for what to do in the area - and we changed our plans once we read it and were so glad We did!! Waiting for us when we checked in was everything we needed for breakfast, snacks, cozy fire, showers, wash …it could not have been more organized and well appointed. Highly recommend!

We loved this property. Cozy, warm, charming. It was a perfect location for us. Quiet area but so close to the city center. Cathy was wonderful. So kind and accommodating but not intrusive. We could not have asked for anything better. It was perfect for us.

Felt like home

The cottage is perfectly situated about 5 miles outside Galway city in a beautiful little suburb right off the main road. Close to every convenience you’d need—gas, food, etc. The interior is cozy and Cathy left treats around the house to increase the comfort of our stay. The beds are extremely comfortable, and although the owners were nearby working on the farm, we felt we had our privacy. Would def recommend staying here and we’d love to return. one thing to note is there is a farm animal on property so there is a bit of smell at times but we dont mind those kind of things. :)

Home Away from Home

I had a wonderful time at Cathy and Martin's Cottage! They were both great hosts. Communication was excellent and always in a timely fashion. I was welcome to a nice peat fire and a morning basket. The house is clean and all supplies needed are there. The location is perfect for the West Coast and more... I will gladly return to their Cottage! Thanks again for sharing a piece of Ireland with me! Marie USA

Great cottage for Galway area and Connemara

Perfect Location

Beautifully maintained cottage, exactly as pictured. It has everything you could need during your stay. Perfect location for exploring the West coast and Galway. Close to the racecourse, and plenty of shops and places to eat. Friendly and helpful owners , to make it a wonderful place to stay.

Great Accommodation for Galway Area

We really enjoyed this cottage and the location. It's location between Galway and Claregalway makes it handy to tour the city, yet Claregalway was convenient for groceries etc. Also the location allowed easy day trips northward to Westport and Kylemore Abby. The cottage is clean, well maintained and had everything we needed including a washer and dryer. We found it exactly as advertised and communication and access arrangements with the owner were fantastic. Really enjoyed our stay ! Dave & Diana Canada

Beautiful and very cosy cottage

We really liked the cottage, everything you might need was available, it was clean, and also coffee, tea and fruit and breakfast for the first day! Very nice surprise. Cathy was real nice and the cottage is very close to Galway and Connemara. Also a good place to stay if you want to visit the Aran islands. You definitely need a car though. If we visit Ireland again, this will be a place to return to.

Perfect cottage for a vacation near Galway

We had an absolutely lovely stay. The cottage was perfect. More than we expected. Especially the Welcome basket with all the the Things needed for a First breakfast. The town (Claregalway) was Just two kilometres away, so that we had the chance to take a stroll around the neighbourhood and then to buy things for the dinner. We can recommend the Café Roots. Lovely waitresses there and the cakes were fantastic.

Giles Cottage

This lovey cottage is in an ideal location to explore the Galway and surrounding area quiet but a short drive to local shops and restaurants. The cottage was extremely clean and tidy well equipped with all mod cons although it does not have a TV. The owners are close by and very amicable and willing to help should needs must.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay

We stayed here while touring Galway, Adare and the Ring of Kerry by rental car. Cathy’s cottage is a gem - quiet, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and close enough to be central without being in the traffic. We loved staying here. Cathy also equips the cottage with thoughtful amenities like coffee, fresh milk and orange juice, fresh bread and butter, and snacks - meaning you don’t need to go out and find those things on arrival. Thank you, Cathy and Martin, for a wonderful experience!

Heaven on earth

I had a wonderful experience at Giles Cottage,…loved every minute!!! Just wish I had more time off!!! The cottage is a perfect retreat…so comfy & comforting!!! Absolutely perfect!

Everything about the Giles cottage was perfect! Cathy was such a lovely and helpful host with a welcome pack of food and essentials waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage is a short drive into Galway city but also easily accessible to Barna and little villages along the coast. The cottage has everything you’d need in it and is so comfortable! We had the best few weeks there and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
