WANT TO LIVE IN AMSTERDAM FOR A WHILE ?

THE PLACE IS AVAILABLE FOR RENT FOR A PERIOD UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 24 MONTHS. (Rent and amenities to be established in consultation)

B & B in a split level loft in a listed Dutch national monument located in the old historic center of Amsterdam and walking distance from shops, museums, restaurants, pubs and public transportation. This recently renovated loft is an excellent place to live or work away from home or the office. It has fast wifi, a large desk and excellent desk chair.

It is of course also very suited to vacation for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. It is beautifully designed and has a smart TV, a Nespresso machine, a washer dryer, a hot air oven and a cooker-plus tap to make a nice quick cup of tea. The 2 bedrooms have their own airconditioning.

As is the case in most typical Amsterdam houses the stairs can be considered a bit steep. Therefore the place is not really suited for children under the age of 15.

Smoking in the house is not permitted .

University, opera house, academy of music, museums, shops and restaurants are all nearby.

Great apartment well located

This loft apartment was in a great location to the Metro, restaurants, cafes and bars. Our host made us feel very welcome & met us on our arrival and we did appreciate the bottle of wine chilled. The steep stair case had hand rails & is well lit. There plenty of space in the apartment, and there is a well equipped kitchen. We loved the location and would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful flat in a fantastic location!

We were looking for a 2 bedroom flat close enough to the centre of Amsterdam to be able to travel out to the nearby towns and villages. Marjorie's apartment was absolutely perfect! It's right next to the Nieuwmarkt Metro line, just one stop from Central Station, and easy to get out to pretty much anywhere in Amsterdam. The apartment itself was beautiful - really tasteful decoration (including a fascinating library of books!) and a well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook for yourself. The beds were really comfortable and the air conditioning in the bedrooms really helped with the mini-heatwave we had the week we were there. Marjorie was a lovely host, welcoming us as we arrived, and always on hand if we needed anything - although we didn't need anything at all! As she says in the listing, the stairs up to the living area and bedrooms are steep, but even with two large and heavy cases, we didn't find this a problem at all. We really loved our stay in this apartment - it was perfect for trips to the museums, getting the train out to the beach at Sandvoort and a day trip to Utrecht, and very close to lovely restaurants, supermarkets and bars. The pizza at Il Sogno, right across the road from the flat, is superb! Overall, it was a perfect trip, and a lovely apartment. We'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to stay in this wonderful city!

Excellent location!!! Beautiful apartment

The home has everything we needed in an ideal location to walk around Amsterdam. Majorie is an excellent host, prompt communications, and accommodating with our flight cancellation. Our main surprise was how short the ceiling is. I’m 5ft 2in and can touch the ceiling, perhaps that’s the style here. We enjoyed our stay and would rent again.

Great location, very helpful host!

The property was perfect for me and my 14 year old daughter. The stairs are steep so that might be an issue for some. Great landing spot for your travels!

Very clean in great neighborhood

The apartment was exceptionally clean which always rates high on my list. The neighborhood is great with restaurants, grocery store, & markets within a couple blocks. The subway entrance is on the same block making transportation a breeze. The apartment is nice & roomy. We found the futon in the living room uncomfortable but you can put the large pillows on it to give some support. There were two of us, but there’s not enough living room seating if you had 4 people. The street-side bedroom has a lot of activity throughout the night until ~3am, so necessitates some good ear plugs. If you’re over 5’ tall, you’ll have to do a 3/4 squat to get out of bed as the walls are steeply angled. The beds are very comfortable however, so rather makes up for it. Be sure & ask the host to explain how to operate the washer/dryer, the stove & oven, & the lock on the front door. We struggled with all of these. There’s no manual for the stove & the one for the washer/dryer is not user-friendly. It took the machine 2 hours to wash & 2 hours to dry plus about 30 min to figure out how to use it; surely there are settings that would reduce those wash/dry times, so ask the host what those might be. It shrunk my jeans so tight I’ll have to go on a diet to wear them again, which isn’t really such a bad thing! Request a bigger towel for the bathroom floor as there’s no shower curtain & water goes everywhere. All in all, for the price, I think this apartment is a good choice for Amsterdam.

The apartment is comfortable and the location is perfection. We were a family of 4 and we fit perfectly. Very quick responses from Marjorie to any question. The stairs are very steep, not for someone with mobility issues. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Perfectly located traditional Dutch house

We felt very lucky staying at Marjorie's place. It's so central, close to everything, full of character and had everything we needed for our short stay. It was very quiet during the day. You could hear some mild chatter from the cafes nearby some evenings and very loud happy birds from the garden in the morning. Well equipped kitchen and great Internet. Marjorie and her family were very kind meeting us rather late in the evening to pass the key. Many thanks!

Beautiful location

This unit was in a great location easy walking distance to just about everything you needed and wanted to do. The stairwell is a little challenging but so is every stairwell in Amsterdam LOL would definitely recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam and our cosy home base. Marjorie was very attentive, and the space is exactly as listed. One item to note is that the stairs are very steep (more like a ladder) - this was fine for us - but could be a challenge if you have a lot of luggage.

Wonderful trip to Amsterdam

This was a really beautiful and convenient home base for my trip. Lots of things are very easily walkable from this location, and it's just a really lovely home. Marjorie was really helpful, allowing me to check in early (my flight arrived at 7:30 that morning!) and providing me with whatever I needed during my stay. The only warning I'd have is that the stairs really are very steep--they felt more like climbing a ladder than stairs! But this seems to be very common in these historic homes throughout the city, so you're bound to find this anywhere in this kind of location. I really enjoyed my stay and would love to stay here again whenever I next visit Amsterdam!

Wonderful stay in beautiful flat in the heart of it all!

This flat was perfect, from the location, to the spaciousness, to the charming decor, to the impeccable care Marjorie took of 2 young women on our first trip to Amsterdam! She greeted us upon our arrival to the flat with fresh flowers, cheese/croissants, and wine. Everything worked beautifully, the rooms were bright and kitchen had everything we needed. We can't wait to go back!

Lovely Apartment

Marjorie was there to meet us as soon as we arrived. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The property is right in the heart of central Amsterdam close to everything. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location

Marjorie was so welcoming and helpful! The apartment was perfect - clean and well stocked. We were very grateful for the air conditioned bedrooms during the hot week we were there. Also, really appreciated the washer and dryer!

Marjorie’s flat is terrific! Great vintage feel. Plenty to do nearby. And Marjorie is a terrific host- treats in the kitchen, fresh flowers, the whole package. We’ll stay again when back in Amsterdam!

Location, location, location.

While being close to all the sites and action, this property is just far enough off the beaten path to not be too crazy! The amenities are wonderful. Feels like home away from home.
