This luxurious Grade II listed apartment run personally by York Stay Holidays, welcomes visitors from around the world. It as been renovated to the highest standards. It is bright and airy with high ceilings and set in a quiet location in an elegant Victorian building. with the best views of York Minster in the block. It is a ground floor apartment with a large lounge/dining room, separate fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom, bedroom with a UK king-sized bed. Wooden flooring throughout.

The apartment is located just a 2-minute walk from Goodramgate and Monkbar (which is one of the main entrances into the City) and about 5-minutes from York Minster and the famous Shambles. The nearest Airport in Leeds Bradford and it’s a 5-minute taxi ride or 20-minute walk from York Station.

Self check-in available via a key safe to allow arrival time flexibility.

KITCHEN
The kitchen, with its powder blue accessories, is equipped with everything you need to make you feel at home. There is a built in washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven, plus there is a Nespresso coffee machine and pods. There is an induction hob (which may affect pacemakers so do check) and an oven.

LOUNGE/DINER
In the lounge there is a comfortable sofa and separate chair with foot stall, there is a glass table and dining chairs and a fire-place. The smart tv has catch up TV available and there is a blue tooth speaker which allows you to play music from your phone.

BEDROOM
The bedroom has a luxurious king-sized bed with crisp Egyptian cotton bedding and soft white towels are provided. There are USB charger sockets in the bedroom to charge phones and tablets without needing a plug. There is also a hair dryer and water bottles provided.

BATHROOM
The bathroom (not en-suite) has a good-sized bath with a shower overhead with a heated towel rail and toiletries provided.

Fabulous location great quality apartment

The apartment was close to everything and yet was extremely quiet. a short walk to Monkgate and Goodramgate and so on with all the coffee shops, restaurants and pubs you could ask for. Check in was easy. The apartment is in a lovely part of York city. The bed was very comfortable with nice white linen. Although we ate out the kitchen had everything you need to cook. Having Netflix was great. The quality of the apartment was excellent. If we had one gripe it was that the apartment got extremely warm during the day. We closed the curtains and blinds in the morning before we left but it was still very hot when we got back around 4pm or so. There was a small fan in the kitchen which if you planned on cooking you would certainly need. It was late August so still summer. I think a floor standing fan would be a great addition. In the evening you could see The Minster from the lounge. We would definitely go back.

Fabulous location and great apartment

This location is fantastic for visiting York. It is so close to the city centre and also has the space of a beautiful garden to enjoy. It was amazingly well appointed with everything you could possibly need. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend it. Thanks!

Stop looking, this is the flat you want!

Every positive thing you have read about this property is spot on. It is literally right across a small residential street from the City Wall, a full-size Sainsburys is adjacent to the property, and the Minster (most of old town, really) is a short walk away. The flat feels like home, nicely appointed kitchen, and a beautiful, beautiful garden. Wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else when in York.

York with a minster view

Lovely VRBO. I loved sitting in the living room and looking at the minster and city walls. The property was clean, well provisioned, and close to the sights of York. Communication with the owners was good. I would stay again.

Amazing Stay

This is a well situated apartment that is clean, quiet and absolutely lovely. We couldn't have asked for a better location (just 5 minutes to York Minster by foot) and more welcoming hosts. I would stay here again.

Lovely place, great location

Such a great location to base yourself in for this lovely city. High quality accommodation in a surprisingly quiet location. Lovely sitting by the lounge window listening to the Minster’s bells of an evening. High ceilings add the the spacious feeling and a well equipped kitchen makes eating in an easy choice. Owners are super-nice. Highly recommended.

Our week in York

Well-equipped and comfortable apartment (and very professionally cleaned), ideally situated for our purposes. Despite being so convenient for the city centre and for supermarkets, the situation is quiet and peaceful. We've stayed in quite a lot of self-catering accommodation in York and this is one of the best we've found.

A lovely flat in a great location

Overall, we were very pleased and comfortable at this property. The location was great - an easy walk to walled York, a Sainsbury's around the corner, and parking. The flat was well appointed and nicely decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. I would offer a word of caution: If, like us, you travel with a limited wardrobe and plan to wash and dry clothes, be aware that the dryer function on the washing machine is taped off and cannot be used. Although we tried to wash our clothes well in advance of when we would need them, it was very difficult to get clean, dry clothes in a reasonable time.

Terrific

This flat is perfectly located for touring York. 15 minutes on foot is the longest it takes to get just about anywhere in town. The flat was spotless, fully equipped and exactly as described. Communication with the owners was clear and precise. A complete information folder describes everything about the flat and gives many suggestions about food and things to do. Being able to park the car and tour on foot was great. Highly recommended!

Everything you need in a perfect location

We had a wonderful 4 days in this perfectly positioned apartment. The property itself was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for our stay; plenty of cutlery, crockery, clean towels, spare pillows, cooling fans - they've thought of everything. The location couldn't be better - 5 minutes to centre of York with all attractions, shops and restaurants, and walkable within a minute to the large Sainsbury behind the building for a few supplies, perfect! The parking space was a great addition - it was slightly narrow, but parking space is at a premium in the city so this is expected. Not a problem if everyone parks considerately!

York the return

Having been a regular visitor to York every year for last 20 years mostly for pleasure but occasionally for work and tying the visit in alongside another event usually classic car related, we were pleased to find this spot as our original location in Bootham closed 6 years ago a suitable replacement venue was proving hard to find . This proved to be a very good replacement for location and parking. The lack of any direct in house governance on the site was initially concerning however the owners were in contact by phone should any issue arise. Overall a good experience and hope to return one day.

Fantastic location and excellent accommodation in every way

Extremely comfortable and well-equipped apartment with views over the front lawn towards the city walls and the Minster. There is everything you need for a wonderful stay in York. It's very peaceful but you're just a few minutes walk from numerous restaurants inside the city walls and just behind the property is a very convenient Sainsburys. The shower is excellent, the kitchen is well kitted out and the king-sized bed is very comfortable. The hosts have provided a variety of films on DVD (we had no time to watch them though!) and a folder of information including recommendations of local restaurants and things to do - all very helpful. Really couldn't fault it!

A great experience

We loved this apartment as it was really comfortable and well equipped. The location is ideal for exploring York with the added bonus of free parking. The booking process was very efficient and we were met by Mel and David and shown everything we needed to know about the apartment and local area which was appreciated. York was very busy as the Christmas Market had started so it was great to be near the centre and be able to shop later in the day. We would certainly recommend this accommodation.

Beautifully furnished apartment close to everything

We were met by the owners upon arrival. This has not always been our experience. Made us feel very comfortable and provided details about the area's attractions. Large picture windows that include a view of the Minster. Apartment has been recently updated and everything was there that we needed. Very quiet. Lovely green area where there were many birds and ducks. Easy walk into town where there are many shops and restaurants. A Sainsbury grocery is just a few hundred feet away. After our stay in Bath this locality and apartment was very relaxing. We felt we were coming "home" after each day out. Plan to return next year.

Beautiful Accommodation, Perfect Location

We have been visiting York for over 20 years and booked this accommodation for New Year weekend. We prefer the freedom of self-catering and this property did not disappoint. The added bonus of car parking is fantastic. It is beautifully presented, very cosy and in an idea spot just 5-minutes walk to the Minster. When we arrived we were welcomed by the owners Melanie and David which was a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning.

We have lived in York for over 20 years and have marketing and engineering backgrounds. We love York and all has to offer visitors and really enjoy welcoming people to the City and showing them around. Several years ago, we decided to combine our love of the City and offer holiday accommodation. Our local knowledge helped us to find two fabulous apartments right in the Centre of town and yet set back in peaceful locations, they are just a stone’s throw from each other. We refurbished them to a high standard, with particular attention to detail and worked hard to create a home-from-home environment so that our visitors can simply relax and enjoy themselves. We go that extra mile to make the holiday experience a special one.
