Apartment Virgilio in Monti, a true oasis of tranquility in the center of Rome

"Casa Virgilio in Monti" in Rome is located on the ground floor of a building of the '700 in the Monti district, one of the most characteristic of the capital between the Fori Imperiali, the Colosseum (8' walk) and Santa Maria Maggiore (4 ' on foot).
Very well served by public transport: underground station (line B, Cavour stop), near the Termini station and then the arrival of the Leonardo Express train to / from Fiumicino Airport, and buses to Ciampino Airport. In the area, at a distance of 5 minutes walk, there are 4 supermarkets, restaurants, taverns, pizzerias, bars, wine bars, clubs, pastry shops.
"Casa Virgilio in Monti" is composed of two double suites (you can also book separately). They have an independent and intercommunicating access through an internal door. The price is for the whole apartment that can comfortably accommodate 4 people, wanting a fifth on the sofa of one of the suites. It is also suitable for 2 adults and 2 boys / children turning one of the 2 double beds into 2 single beds.
The first suite, "I fiori", is composed of a bedroom (double bed or two singles), private bathroom, living / veranda with kitchenette (fridge, induction plates, oven, dishwasher), real internal garden overlooking a very quiet private flowery courtyard. The second one, "Il Gallo Rosso", consists of an alcove with a French double bed, a living room, a private bathroom and a kitchenette (induction plates, microwave oven, fridge, washing machine).
The price is for the entire structure. For the rental of a single suite, we refer you to the Casa Virgilio1 apartment in Monti and Casa Virgilio2 apartment in Monti.
The two suites have air conditioning, heating, TV, WiFi internet, minibar, coffee machine, kettle for hot water, all to ensure a truly relaxing and peaceful stay. A welcome drink will be offered to you on your arrival.

Fantastic Accommodation

Booked this property for 4 nights after a cruise that finished in Rome. In summary, the accommodation was perfect for 2 adult couples, the host was extremely welcoming and was in constant contact leading up to our stay. The location in Rome was ideal and only a short walk to the major attractions. The local restaurants were superb. I would highly recommend this accommodation. A short thank you to Jean Louis for welcoming us to his property.

Amazing house with great location and host

Our stay here was amazing ! We arrived from the airport at midnight and when we got to the house we had a basket full of snacks and goodies (milk, water, yogurt, chips, bread, etc.) waiting for us. He was always helpful with directions or any questions we had. The house was beautiful and very clean. Also had everything you could need during your stay. I would definitely reccomend you stay here since it is close to all the major spots in Rome as well as close to a metro station. I would stay here again!

Perfect location for Romes greatest hits!

Our communication with Jean Louis and Micaela was excellent. Thanks Jean Louis for helping us with the Leonardo Express. The location was central to the Colosseum, restaurants and the Metro at Cavour or Termini. The kitchen was well equiped for eating in as well. The garden area made it a nice place to relax at the end of a busy day. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful experience

This was a girlfriend trip without our husbands & family and we felt very safe and comfortable. Jean-Louis was very hospitable and great at communication even on things not related to the apartment. The apartment is located great very close to Roma Termini (the main big train station), walking distance to the Coliseum, Forum and Palentine Hill etc. You can see Santa Maria Maggiore church right up the street and there is a stop there for the "hop on, hop off bus". That was a great deal to ride around and see everything with an audio tour as you go. We were able to order an Uber and a taxi to pick us up right at the front door. We rented the entire apartment - 2 bedrooms each with its own bath. There are 2 "living areas" on each end of the apartment and 2 kitchen areas since it can be split off into 2 separate 1 bedrooms units. We could have just done one side - that would have been plenty of space. We did not use the kitchens at all but the larger one was stocked well and the smaller kitchenette was totally usable and had everything you would need. The kitchenette did have an "Italian" washer dryer combo. It was a little adventure figuring it out but I did successfully wash one load (we'd just done a Transatlantic cruise for 2 weeks so I needed some clean undies, lol). There is also a self serve laundromat on Via Cavour (one street over) very close! When we arrived, Jean-Louis had left us a little Italian snack &bread & coffee ready for breakfast. Great Rome apartment!

Great stay, and a terrific host

Don't think. Just book it! The apartment was fully equipped with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living room / sitting areas, two TVS, and two kitchens. Plus a great dining area, and yummy snacks. It was in a very convenient location, close to the Colosseum and Termini railway station. Super restaurants nearby (especially RistoCavour). But the big plus was Jean-Louis, the excellent host, and his assistant Micaela. SUPER communication, very welcoming, convivial and goes-out-of-the-way helpful. Seriously terrific. Have you booked it yet?

Wonderful stay at Apartment Virgilio

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It offers everything you could possibly need while away. We were greeted by Micaela who was most helpful and thoughtful. The host, Jean-Louis, was prompt at responding to our messages and inquiries. We appreciated the bottle of wine and goodies upon our arrival. Great location to all the major tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing stay in Rome!

We absolutely loved our stay in Rome! Jean Louis & Michaela were incredible and very helpful hosts. The home was very clean & had everything we could ever need! Very clean & great location too. It was nice to be close to the heart of the city without the noise. Very easy to walk/take the bus anywhere we needed to go. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

Perfect Property

This apartment was great! The property manager (Jean-Louis) is very nice, accommodating, and great to work with. The property’s location was perfect for seeing all the major sites in Rome. We were within a short walk to the sites or a metro station, which was a short ride to everything we wanted to see. The property was clean and the breakfast items, beverages, and coffee were very appreciated. I highly recommend this property for your Rome vacation!

Rugby and Ruins Tour

Flat is well placed for the station and an easy walk to most of the major sights… good supermarket opposite Santa Maria Maggiore… Host was friendly and helpful… Door security is impressive…😊 Flexible accommodation (1 or 2 apartments) but you transition through 1 to get to 2… Family trip to see the rugby, so worked well for us..

Un appartement très agréable

Highly Recommend - Stayed Here Twice

This property is lovely, spacious, well-appointed, and in a great location! I've stayed here twice - once with a friend and once with my husband for our 25th anniversary trip. The host is amazing. Very responsive and communicative. The location is close to everything - the Colosseum, Termani Rome, Trevi, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, etc. The private patio is both stunning and a great relaxation space after a long day of site-seeing. This really feels like a home-away-from-home.

Great Stay in Rome!

What an amazing trip to Rome! Jean-Louis was an amazing host and took time to check in through text during our stay. Even though Jean-Louis was also away on vacation, they arranged for wonder Micaela to meet us and show the “ins and outs” of the property. The property was easy to find just a short walk (12 minutes) from Roma-Termini. We did the walk with 7 bags and a 7 year old!. Jean-Louis also had a selection of breakfast treats to help us get going on day 1. I found nearly all of the most anticipated historical sites within walking distance. My favorite, Colosseum, just10 minutes away. We only took one taxi ride to the Vatican for an early morning tour. However, we walked back to the apartment with now problem. The apartment was exactly as seen in the photos. My family felt safe as we walked in the area, including at night. Great place to stay in an amazing city! Arrivederci, Rome! Grazie, Jean-Louis!!

Stayed here four nights during October. Clean property but a bit dated. Rooms are like a train car - 1 bedroom - 1 bedroom- living/kitchen. Very quiet and near Vis Cavour and Maria Maggiore and train station. Great value for price.

Wonderful Stay in Rome

Had a great experience with this apartment in Rome. Jean Louis was nothing but professional, responsive, and helpful. He checked in almost every day to make sure everything was going smoothly. The place itself is lovely. It is clean, organized, and in a great location to walk to all the hot spots in Rome (also 8 minutes from Roma Termini). Sehr nette Vermieter, super Kommunikation, problemloses ein- und aus checken. Es ist alles wie abgebildet und fehlt an nichts. Colosseum ist fußläufig zu erreichen, unbedingt die Basilika Santa Maria besichtigen! Es war unser . Besuch in Rom, dies war die beste Unterkunft, wir kommen wieder!

Rome tours and Ryder Cup

Apartment had great location- near Termini and Metro. Apartment had all amenities: kitchen ware, apl liam ed, ice machine, laundry. With 10 minute walk of some very nice restaurants. Minutes from most Rome attractions. Jean Louis- very attentive and helpful- great communication. Great wi-fi!
