This is a Unique Stay. Property is a quirky rustic mud-brick cottage on the way to the mountains but close to town. It's great for those wishing to visit the majestic Warrumbungles, surrounding areas, star gazing or just relax and enjoy your natural environment outside overlooking the garden, up at the stars, in the hot/cold tub by the fire pit, or the cozy fire indoors. We provide all linen, wood for the fire and just about everything you will need for a cozy and comfortable stay. Hope you can stay :)

***Booking for 2 is for king bed in loft only, for 3 includes 1 single bed in the sunroom, for 4 is the includes king and fold out futon in living room and 5 is all of above. Please indicate at time if booking***

TV with streaming and free to air, mobile coverage is sometimes limited inside due to mud bricks however you can usually get enough to receive, plus use the wifi.

Please NO PARTIES - NO PETS - only the number who have been booked and paid for are allowed on the property, we don't allow extra guests to the property for any reason.

If you have mobility issues the special designed 'loft stairs' may not be suitable for you so please consider this fact before booking. There is bedding downstairs as an alternative option. If concerned .please discuss with us prior to booking.

Wedding Anniversary get away

Michelle’s cottage was lovely and inviting. We were welcomed with a warm fire and relaxing music. Communication and check-in was easy and Michelle was kind enough to allow us to check-in early. Location was excellent in a quiet rural setting close to everything. Would stay again.

Road trip star gazing stop over

Returning to Coolum beach from Melbourne…having been in Melbourne for 4 weeks to welcome our 2nd grandson and saying goodbye to my dying mum we decided to take a detour and check out the stars from Coona. Wonderful 3 days.

Character filled, quirky delight!

We spent the weekend at Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Cottage and it was an absolute pleasure. We got to finally get away from it all and relax in absolutely charming surroundings with plenty to do in the cottage to keep our two girls (7 and 10) occupied. Michelle is an extremely gracious hostess and the cottage was conveniently located for all our star gazing activities. The girls were in raptures about the place. Highly, highly recommended.

PEACE & QUIET

Love the location just on edge of Coonabarabran. It was such a peaceful spot and all we heard we birds singing and kookaburras laughing! A cute quaint little cottage which had everything we needed and just loved the fireplace which kept us cozy and warm. Would loved to have stayed longer!!

Perfect dark sky retreat at the foot of the Warrumbungles

Had an excellent stay with family at Michelle's property. Michelle was an attentive host and easy to communicate with. We ended up staying in the big blue house which was beautiful, spacious, and well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the peaceful rural setting, with cute gardens, birds calling and a great deck to enjoy the stars. The property is also well situated, with easy access to town and at the foot of the Warrumbungles. Would visit again!

Perfect Romantic Getaway

We absolutely loved our stay here. The cottage is spacious, cosy and homey. Fireplace was great and kept us very warm. Loved the outdoor hot tub. Felt very private and didn’t see anyone else while at the property, apart from the little dog who is very friendly and cute and wants to play ball. Only thing to note is the stairs up to the bedroom may be challenging for someone with mobility issues or who is uncoordinated, but there are safety handles on the wall to help. We are a young fit couple and had to be careful going up and down, we didn’t risk trying to bring our bags up and used the front room as a changing area. The main town is a short drive away, has a great Chinese restaurant - the Golden Sea Dragon. Coona is great for hiking and star gazing! Highly recommend booking an evening at Milroy observatory to look through the telescopes. And check out Crystal Kingdom for some exceptional fossils. Two nights and two days was enough time to do everything in the local area but we enjoyed the hot tub so much we easily could have stayed longer just to relax at the property. We felt very comfortable and welcome and would love to stay here again one day.

A true getaway

Its hard to visualise a place by photo but the little cottage surpassed our expectations. We had plenty to see in the area and it was highlighted by the time we allowed ourselves to experience the comfort and quaintness of Little star. Relaxing, comfortable and just off the grid far enough to energise us. Prompt responses with the host. All up a fulfilling couple of days

Charming retreat

We had such a lovely time at this place. The cottage is charming, cozy and quite unique, with so many thoughtful details. The kitchen is great and very well equipped. We loved to be able to cook our own meals and relax in the spa. It’s close to the town and around 20 min driving to the National Park and observatory. We had an amazing star gazing experience with shooting stars and beautiful night skies. The landscape is absolutely beautiful! We’ll define go back to explore the area a bit more!

Gorgeous cosy cttage

We had a lovely experience for our three night stay. The property is not as remote as it seems however for us it was perfect, not too far from anywhere. It may look small but the cottage is extremely well equipped including an outside hot tub. Overall a very comfortable, clean and special stay. Many thanks.

Cosy winter hideaway

This was the perfect escape from the city. Michelle's cabin seems tiny at first, but you quickly realise you couldn't want for anything more. First you are greeted by two adorable dogs. We had 4 adults in the cabin comfortably. Everything was as in the picture. We chose it because of the full kitchen and it did not disappoint. Any place you can prepare roast dinners, good coffee and even a souffle has gone above and beyond for anyone who wants to self cater. It's got a fireplace. What else could you want?

OK but not what we expected.

Good to find somewhere quirky and different and it was nice to have a fire in winter. Overall it was ok, but it was 'rustic' not 'luxury' as advertised. We had an issue with the 10 deodorizers we found. The smell was overwhelming, but better after we put them outside.

Why they chose this property

My property is very unique in that it is only 2.5 kms from the town centre but is a very lush garden and bush setting, on the road to the mountains. There are amazing birds and other wild life, its all very private so you feels a million miles away from it all, but convenience is just around the corner. The building itself is very unique, cozy, with all that you need for a wonderful stay regardless of the temperature or weather. If its warm go mountain climbing and then relax in the hot tub after, if it's cold stay inside or out by the fire or fire pit watching a movie or star gazing just outside. It has it all.

What makes this property unique

Quiet and peaceful place, very tranquil with amazing trees and birdlife, lovely garden surrounds, easy access to mountains and town and all local attractions, very comfortable bedding, wonderful Kitchen, fire pit, inside fire, hot tub, all linens provided. A very unique experience.
