Serenity in Punakaiki - Free wifi

Come and relax in our family bach!

Lovely private spot located in the heart of Punakaiki Village, a short stroll from everything you need - enjoy the beach and watch the sunset over the ocean, kayak or swim in the Pororari river and dine at the Punakaiki Tavern without having to get in the car.

Also located directly across the road from the Paparoa Track and the Pororari River walk. The Pancake Rocks are a 15 minute walk to the South.

Our cottage is comfortable, tidy and well equipped for families, with kids toys and games provided. The grounds are spacious, with beautiful established trees and native birdsong. The deck is great for enjoying meals outdoors and for relaxing while listening to the sound of the ocean.

- The kitchen and bathroom are both an older style but function well.
- The main bedroom has a queen size bed.
- The second bedroom is separated from the lounge by a curtain.
- There is an additional set of bunks available in the laundry room if required.
- Super-fast fibre broadband/Wifi is provided.

Please note:
- Linen not provided. Please bring your own sheets, pillowcases, towels, facecloths and tea towels. Each bed has a mattress protector, pillow and duvet.

What a fantastic place to stay for three nights. The house was 'a typical NZ bach' and had everything we needed. It was quiet, spacious, well equipped and close walking distance to everything we came to Punakaiki for. We will definitely be booking in at 'Serenity' in the future.

Great old school kiwi batch, in an absolutely Awesome location. Walking distance to EVERYTHING, beautiful rivers to swim and safe for kids, amazing and stunning river walks and hikes opposite the batch, beach 5 mins walk down road, cool local pub and atttractions.

Great kiwi bach

We had a great time here was in a perfect location just a few min walk to the pub and theres a great walk across the road. The house is nothing fancy but the beds are comfy and the house has everything you need. Would definitely stay again!

Terrible, we expected better.

Smelt damp, not a holiday home to relax in. Really old furniture, beds were comfortable. The shower was a pool of water due to a blocked plug hole no doubt. Cleanliness was good.

Delightful hideaway

Wonderful bach with well appointed kitchen, excellent washing facilities, lovely backyard visited often by weka. We loved kayaking up the Pororari River (canoe hire is really close to the bach), the local tavern, the cavern and the Pancake Rocks - all walkable.

Very enjoyable stay

Great classic kiwi Bach, had everything we needed for our stay with our young family. During our stay the West Coast experienced an extreme weather event. We found Lisa and Paul were brilliant to deal and we were very grateful for their quick responses and reassurance during this time. Despite the weather we managed to get out and enjoy Punakaiki, we loved exploring the caves, the beach, Pancake rocks and the local tavern. We will have to come back again to complete the walks! We also really enjoyed the little extras this bach had to offer, a basket of toys, games, puzzles and DVD’s. Perfect for a rainy day! Thank you Lisa for a most enjoyable stay.

Great base in Punakaiki

We found the location great for access to the national park opposite, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Meals can be found at the tavern a 1 minute walk up the road which was busy but didn't need to wait long for a table. Pancake Rocks not a far walk away, and handy to wander up before sunset. The Bach is basic, a bit rough around the edges, but has all you need and is relatively private.

Lovely little bach in great location

We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy bach. Had everything we needed, and the location was great for anyone wanting to check out some of the local walking tracks. The trail through the gorge along the Pororari River to the swing bridge was spectacular. Was also nice to relax in the back garden watching some of the native bird life.
