About this property

Pet and Family friendly, patch of paradise

Nestled on the hill above Kuaotunu Beach with its commanding sea, bush and rural views. This cosy two bedroom cottage is the perfect place to relax, unwind, enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you. Abundant bird life and friendly farm animals add to this peaceful setting far removed from city life. The cottage is bright, sunny, comfortable and private. The double room has a Queen size bed with cotton bedding, it's own bathroom with a bath & shower and a glorious view out to sea. The dining room has basic cooking facilities as well as a fridge, coffee machine, variety of teas, coffee & milk. The second bedroom has two single beds, with it's own bathroom. There is a TV/DVD in both rooms. A selection of DVD's are available for those wet days to chill out. The whole building is 70 square meters with a terrace along the front with outdoor seating and a Barbecue.
The view from the Rawhiti Cottage is just the best.

Lovely Location

Such a great spot for a weekend away with the dog. Stunning views, and a sun-filled bach made for a great winter getaway. Bach had everything I needed, I hope to be back in summer!

Wonderful Break

Paradise Found

We stayed in the Rawhiti cottage with our dog. It is a gorgeous little place, filled with character. There is a panoramic outlook over the surrounding area, and in the cottage every detail has been thought of. Can’t wait to return. Thank you Jill for creating such a haven.

Having lived in the area since 1994 I have a wealth of local knowledge and am happy to help guests plan their days outings, should they so wish.
I love the outdoors and am an active Trustee of Kauri 2000 Trust, a long term project to recreate significant stands of kauri on publicly-owned land on the Coromandel Peninsula.

Why they chose this property

Buying this property in the 1980's when the roads were all gravel and Kuaotunu was considered remote, I fell in love with the place. The place has changed but still has it's charm. Situated between Rings Beach and Kuaotunu over looking the bay, it really is a paradise.

What makes this property unique

Magical place overlooking the ocean. We had a 2 night stay here in the (Kaiwanga Room)and I think it has been the best place we have stayed during our holiday. It’s an idyllic little spot on a hill, overlooking the ocean. We could have spent all day just looking at the ever changing Ocean view. The room was very clean and fresh and led straight on to a fab little deck (overlooking a well kept garden)on which we enjoyed several glasses of wine!

Idyllic hideaway with a terrific owner

We had been recommended Kaeppeli’s by two lots of friends and we were not disappointed. Our separate bungalow with two bedrooms, simply but comfortably furnished with all amenities even a hairdryer, and a fabulous terrace had wonderful views and some friendly goats to eat our organic kitchen waste!
