About this property
Villa Paloma (A Delightfully renovated summer)
Villa Paloma reflects a timeless quality, elegant accommodation and value for money.
Castellammare del Golfo and the village of Scopello, where "Ocean Twelve" was filmed
It was built at the end of 2002 and it is a fully furnished secluded pool (5.5 x 11 m.) Has also a fully furnished sun lounging area and two cover outdoor showers.
A view of the sea and the mountains from the sea. A view of the sea and the sunset from the sea. inlets, turquoise seas and underwater grottos
The main villa included a large living room, a dining room and a separate kitchen. Downstairs is a large double bedroom, a bathroom with shower.
Upstairs is one large double bedroom with two single beds in each. There is also a large bathroom with shower. All the upstairs leads to a flowering terrace with a seating area.
On the ground floor just a few steps away from a double bedroom. This cottage has a kitchen, a bathroom and a dining / living room.
This cottage overlooks a flowering terrace.
Local Information:
An electric iron gate opens the doors to Villa Paloma. Striking and lavish, the villa is surrounded by a rich Mediterranean garden
A gourmet's delight. With the prolific Mediterranean and its doorstep, although there are many delicious varieties of local pasta.
Within the village of Scopello lie a wonderful restaurant, cafes and a few local shops. Easily reached is an organic market where fresh produce is picked from the surrounding fields.
The "Gypsy" National Park is a seven kilometer long line of magnificent inlets, grottos, low reefs and fantastic sandy coves.
Local Cuisine:
It will be foolish to try and describe the island's exceptional cuisine. One could never do justice to an art form, which has taken hundreds of years to develop.
"Bar Nettuno" in Scopello is the perfect way to begin and end your day. Piero, the owner welcomes all of his drinks to the early hours. "La Tavernetta and" La Terrazza "are also worth mentioning for their stunning views and superb fresh food. Castellammare is a bustling town that is dotted numerous bars and restaurants. Try "La Cambusa" or "Luxor" restaurants both in the marina of Castellammare for seafood Sicilian fish dishes, especially those eaten in the open air, to be definitely savoured.
Boat and Beaches:
This western coastline is full of magnificent beaches, unspoilt bays and splendid beaches. Picturesque seascapes follow one another like a beautiful string of pearls. Calabianca with its turquoise waters and grottos is followed by Guidaloca a sandy, pebbly beach with a limpid sea of ever changing colors. Nearby is Cala Rossa where a pathway leads you down with an underground grotto. Finally, you arrive at the secluded bays and inlets, which form the spectacular Zingaro nature reserve.
There are numerous places where you can hire boats or alternatively several agencies offer excursions along the coast past the Zingaro. From Trapani you can take a ferry and visit the island of Pantelleria or the three exotic Egadi Islands.
Places of Interest:
Sicily keeps a special place for the discerning traveler who appreciates the finer elements of life. An outstanding heritage of artistic achievement. Visit the extraordinary and unique Greek site of Segesta, with its Doric temple and amphitheater in tranquil beauty amidst nature. A little further afield is the enclave of Erice with its delightful medieval ambience and breathtaking hilltop location. Also not to forget the Segesta hot sulfuric Baths, whose waters, classified as hypothermic, sulfurized, highly mineralized, play an important therapeutic action.
The capital is 50 km from Scopello, but does not go with an itinerary.
Activities & Excursions:
Sicily is at its finest out of season, in spring or October when the crowds have eased and the temperature has dipped slightly. It marks the time of the traditional grape or olive harvest while in the year one of the greatest attraction of visiting its western tip is the prospect of sampling. Otherwise why not learn the secrets of great Italian cooking while you relax in the serious style in our villa. For those wanting to stretch themselves, the Sicilian hills are bathed in history, with beautiful churches and stunning mountain walks. Natural resources for hospitality in an industry.
