We stayed several days to fish and explore all Homer had to offer. We had everything we needed to cook meals and a beautiful view. The place was clean and quiet. We enjoyed watching the Sandhill Cranes in the yard every day, along with an occasional pheasant and a cow and calf moose. We would definitely stay there again!
This was a great place to stay and had great communication with the owner! Lots of space inside and out. We had a few visits from the local sandhill cranes and pheasants. We would stay here again next time plan a trip to Homer.
This was just an amazing vacation, Our hosts could not have been kinder and more accommating. The views were likes something out of a painting. I can't say enough GREAT things about our stay. Will plan on staying here every time we come back to Alaska. The owners are the nicest people and responded within minutes every time we had a question. Helped us out with restaurants etc..
Great property, great people good locations. Will be back. Beautiful views and very clean.

Perfect in every way
We had a wonderful time in Homer and the lovely accommodations were the icing on the cake. This property did not disappoint. Quiet, clean, beautiful views and very comfortable furnishings. I loved sitting on the patio and drinking coffee while taking in the beautiful bay views. We would definitely recommend this property!
We loved our stay. The views are exceptional. Both patios offered amazing peace with stunning views. My boys loved the large lawn. The location was perfect for our halibut fishing excursion. Laura was so kind, responsive and overall a fantastic host! We would stay here again and are sad to leave. Best wishes to the hosts and kind people in Homer Alaska.
The apartment exceeded our expectations! The views were Beautiful & truly amazing! It was very clean, comfortable, close to town & had all the necessities. Laura was an awesome hostess! Highly recommend this place! Perfect fora family or couple getaway! I did not want to leave. ♥️
My husband is a wildlife photographer, and he liked taking pictures of the Sand Hill Cranes, pheasants, and other birds on the property. Raspberries grow in the front yard. We picked some a couple times for breakfast. Inside was comfortable and spacious with everything you would need.
Perfect home base for exploring Homer. Laura and Stephen were such good hosts! A bottle of wine awaited us when we got there, we picked raspberries in the yard, and Stephen shared some FRESHLY smoked salmon with us. The space was great for four people.
The VRBO was even nicer than we expected. Large, airy, well appointed with everything we would want for our 5 night stay. Stunning views of the snow capped mountains and bay out the front above a fireweed field. Perfect location for peace and quite but also a short drive to the activities of the peninsula like bear watching trips, shopping, fishing and fine restaurants. You need a car. Laura was an incredibly gracious hostess from the start of our booking till the end You really learn about good hosts when something unexpected happens. There was an electrical problem that barely effected us because Laura and Steve were so thoughtful and diligent in finding a fix to help us do laundry. AND we got Covid while there. They allowed us to extend our stay as much as possible and offered to help in so many ways in this unfortunate situation. Thankfully we had mild cases. We highly recommend this wonderful rental and send our appreciation to our hosts again.
So Spacious! We really enjoyed having lots of room. Picture windows line the entire front of the house with beautiful views of the snow covered peaks across Kachemak Bay. It was great having full sized washer and dryer. The grill on the patio came in handy too. Laura met us when we arrived to see if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again.
This property was wonderful. Very clean, very spacious, great views. It does not have air conditioning, so if the weather is extremely hot, it does get very hot in the house. A fan is provided, but it had to be moved from room to room. I understand it was unseasonably warm, so may not be a factor again. The owner was very friendly and helpful with all things during my stay. I would definitely stay here again!
Homer is a beautiful getaway in Alaska, and Laura made the stay easy and enjoyable. A lovely view of the water, plenty of space, and a short few minute drive from the Spit. A great stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The owners are upstairs and readily available should you have questions or need anything like skewers for your grilled bacon wrapped scallops or a pan for brownies. The layout of the rental makes the best of the gorgeous view. It is very roomy and great for entertaining. The back porch was an awesome place to enjoy coffee in the morning and a perfect spot to start your evening. We made great use of the gas grill. The property is ample in size so you don’t feel as though you’re on top of your neighbors and the location is perfect - far enough from the craziness of the spit, but a quick ride into town for groceries. Laura is the perfect hostess - she welcomed us with fresh flowers, coffee and cream, and a chilled bottle of Prosecco - what more could you ask for? We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Homer! Thanks Laura for your wonderful hospitality! Nandra, Rick and Mackenzie

Beautiful and VERY WELCOMING
Loved our stay. Million dollar view with a beautiful and spacious ground floor area. Had plenty of room and our hosts were very gracious and made sure if we needed anything, just to ask. Thank you, Laura and Steven. Our guests that were up here for the first time loved it and we had perfect weather for bear viewing and halibut fishing.

Great view - comfortable accomodations ...
Really enjoyed our 4 nite stay. Great location, amazing view and welcoming hosts. Was comfortable for us, was a little odd layout for our group of 5 but worked out fine. Will definitely be a contender for our next visit to Homer ...

Excellent stay
The home is as advertised -- a beautiful 180 degree view through walls of windows and a nice sitting deck, clean, spacious, and Laura and Stephen are very nice people. The rental is the entire first floor fully equipped, the camps live on the floor above, and we never heard them. This house is just a few miles from Homer so it is convenient to everything, but more of a country location.
Great activities in the area; including halibut and salmon fishing, bear viewing flight/hikes, and a water taxi that will take you 8 miles across the strait to hike to glaciers.
We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you Laura and Stephen.

About the host
Hosted by Laura and Stephen Camp
Laura, a lifelong Alaskan, and I met and fell in love in Homer! We enjoyed the area and fishing so much, we decided to buy a Second Home there. Laura is a retired school teacher, and she owned & operated a B&B for 9 years after teaching. I work in construction management, and together we travel the world. We love riding our motorcycle, fishing, our children & grandchildren, and entertaining our family and friends.
Why they chose this property
The downstairs unit is very private, has 180 degree views of Kachemak Bay, Grewingk Glacier & others, the Kenai Mountain Range, and the Homer Spit! We are a short distance to the downtown activities, and there is a walking/bike path that leads to town. Our Second Home is away from the hustle bustle of town, private, and the views are amazing.
What makes this property unique
Large 2350 sq. ft. private living space, full kitchen, and a short 1/4 mile walk to "Wasabi's," make Second Home a vacation rental you'll want to make an annual destination.
