Seaview property

This property was ideally situated for touring the many seaside villages along the Moray coast. We enjoyed trips to Pennan, Bow Fiddle Rock and saw seals at Whitehills beach. Fyvie Castle inland also a must see. Rooms were well equipped and comfortable. Children enjoyed the additional space in the futon room. Sea views are awesome, we were so lucky to have sunshine in February. Additional pillows and the option of a double bed over two singles would have made it perfect. House number not visible from the road, but an excellent stay and would much recommend it. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
Stayed 2 nights in Feb 2020

The view from the cottage excellent.

The view from the cottage excellent. Overall the equipment adequate. Cleanliness needs to be addressed plus it tells you not to leave any food behind but people had done in the past. The cooker and extractor fan was greasy on arrival. Overall the location and view was excellent

Good base for touring the beautiful coastal towns, villages and beaches of north Aberdeenshire.

Good base for touring the beautiful coastal towns, villages and beaches of north Aberdeenshire. Ruach is a part of a terrace of bungalows located in the modern part of Gardenstown at the top of the cliff which means that the old part with its harbour, quaint cottages and pub is a steep half mile road walk or drive downhill. This is compensated by the spectacular sea views from the cottage and its garden and that the only convenience store, a Spar, is at the top too. The private parking space is a bit tricky but can be easily avoided as abundant free on-road parking is available close by. A fabulous one mile walk has just opened to the picture-perfect fishing village of Crovie, starting at the end of the road just 200 yards from the door.

Stunning location and view.

Stunning location and view. Disappointed the king-sized bed featured two single mattresses instead of a king. Very uncomfortable. Went home a day early. Shattered due to lack of sleep. Furniture seemed a little careworn in places. Disappointed overall but view made up for it

This house has spectacular views over the sea.

This house has spectacular views over the sea. It is spotlessly clean, comfortable ,warm, well equipped and appointed. Its position is raised above the seaside village of Gardenstown which is accessible down a steep road. The description lists a woodburning stove but the owners would prefer you used smokeless fuel (available from the fuelstop garage before the bridge in McDuff if you arrive Saturday after the coal merchant has shut). We were staying early in the season so most of the local amenities in Gardenstown were not yet open (hence the 7). There is a spar 300 metres away for the basics and towns within 20 minutes drive with shops and supermarkets. Within an hours drive either side there are distilleries ( with tours and tastings) , dolphin centres, locally landed fish shops, seal beaches, gannet and kittiwake colonies. fishing villages etc. There is plenty to do and Ruach provides a cosy base camp at the end of the day. If you are travelling with children or like to be connected, download all your entertainments before you go ( they have provided freeview television DVDs Blue rays and a cd player) . There is no Wi Fi and the 4G is limited, but that may be exactly why you choose this property. We were there for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it .
