A spacious end-terraced Georgian town house set right in the heart of the historic market town of Richmond. Offering on-site gated parking and an outside courtyard - facilities rarely found within the town. With two spacious downstairs reception rooms, both with wooden floors, wood burner, original shutters and plenty of space for a gathering of friends or family. A downstairs shower room with toilet and utility room, which is ideal for coats and boots, complete the facilities. On the first floor is a second bathroom and shower, and four spacious bedrooms with two kingsize and two twins offering a good selection of sleeping arrangements.
On the doorstep you have a wonderful selection of things to do. For the outdoor enthusiast Richmond is the gateway to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park with fantastic walks and cycle paths. Home to the annual Tour de Yorkshire cycle race, Richmond provides a popular stopping off point for both walkers and cyclists with the popular Coast to Coast passing nearby. Ellerton House offers outside storage for cycles within it’s gated courtyard with keypad entry. Within the historic market town you’ll find cobbled streets and a colourful selection of quirky galleries and antique shops to browse around. For refreshments you’re spoilt for choice with a wide selection of tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants selling local delicacies. The majestic Richmond Castle stands high and proud and is open for visits, while the riverside is a beautiful walkway around the perimeter of the town. The Georgian Theatre Royal is literally on the doorstep of Ellerton House and has a variety of entertainment to showcase. Shop, pub and restaurant 550 yards.

The house was spacious but the heating was difficult to manage and there were no instructions.

The remote control for the TV was missing when we arrived and we managed to find it down the back of one of the sofas. Although in general we were very happy with the house we were shocked that even though much is made of additional cleaning being done for Covid security, some of the kitchen equipment and crockery was far from clean. It clearly had not been checked at all after previous use. A bowl and a plate in the cupboard were covered in unwashed food and a plastic bowl had a layer of grease and mould spots. We had a fantastic holiday here! The local town is lovely with nice places to eat and everything you need in a short walk. We went on numerous walks from the doorstep which was lovely, our favourite being through the ruined abbey by the river. The property is very spacious and comfy. We had a lovely welcome pack on arrival too but more importantly they allowed us to take our 5 labs with us which we were very grateful for! Thank you for a wonderful stay! Big family house in great location but take everything with you

The property wasn’t particularly clean when we arrived, there was a lot of pet hair on the wooden floors and in the kitchen - which required us to mop the floors as soon as we arrived. My husband is allergic to animals and renting houses has never been a problem before, even for those where pets are welcome. The house wasn’t well stocked, we had to buy toilet rolls, bin bags and dishwasher tablets before we could use any of the amenities. There were no logs provided, although the house was lovely and warm as the heating had been thoughtfully programmes. Many of the dishes had cracks, and cups had handles missing. The house is lovely and grand, plenty of room for all of us, very warm and brilliant location. However those little extras really make a huge difference and we won’t be recommending the property or returning.

Location was great.
