.House needs a bit of TLC. Location makes up for this
House needed a good deep clean for spider webs and dust. But general level of cleanliness re kitchen bedding etc was OK. Great location. Fantastic garden but remember to note it is a shared garden. We kept our dog on long lead. Neighbours 2 dogs and 2 children were not !!!! Their dog poo left on our areas. Fence needed please as this really impcted on our stay

Cottage was lovely.
Cottage was lovely. Kitchen was well equipped and it was a pleasant surprise to arrive and find there was milk and biscuits etc. Netflix was a nice touch. Only slight criticism is that whilst cottage is dog friendly there is no enclosed outside space for them. Garden is very nice but it would have been great if the patio area was fenced off so that the dogs could go out without the need to put them on the lead. It's located about 6 miles from Coniston and there is a pub (The Red Lion) about a mile down the lane. Overall couldn't fault it.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation and location.
Absolutely fantastic accommodation and location. The cottage was furnished to a high standard and spotless. The Riverside location so picturesque. The only minor negative points were the shared garden with next door, although partly partitioned off, wasn't as private as we would have liked and the main bathroom shower, which was either freezing or boiling, no inbetween. Overall though, a wonderful stay.

Fantastic cottage! The photos don’t do it justice! We had a lovely stay and it had everything you needed. The gardens are beautiful too and the patio is a perfect little sun trap. Lovely linen and towels and really well equipped throughout. The only slight critisism ( and it wouldn’t stop me rebooking) was the neighbours were a little loud as it’s a mid terrace. And also there is no fence between you and the cottage next door- so although our dog stayed in our garden unfortunately next doors dog didn’t stay in theirs!! But it wasn’t a huge issue. Definitely hoping to come back and rent this one again!

Lovely cottage.
Lovely cottage. Everything you need and spotless. Just a bit too rural for us and no handy dog walking paths direct from cottage.

One word:- idyllic.
One word:- idyllic. Riverside Cottage was everything a cottage should be. We had a wonderful stay. Peaceful and listening to the River Crake flowing at the bottom of the garden, plus the birdsong was just wonderful. Jane, one of the owners was so friendly and welcoming. Would we return, 100% yes. It was just perfect.

A very comfortable cottage with a large pretty garden.
A very comfortable cottage with a large pretty garden. Plenty of room for two couples with one toddler and a dog. Great position for the southern lakes with plenty of dog friendly pubs and shops around, though not in walking distance. The cottage is well appointed and clean. The only thing to be aware of is an un-fenced river at the bottom of the garden and no fence between the cottage garden and Sunny Beck’s next door. This in no way spoiled the holiday but did mean constant chasing after the toddler and dog. With this in mind it’s probably better for adults as there is also currently no cot or high chair available which whilst not really a problem, does mean packing two additional bulky items. Having said all that, I would highly recommend Riverside Cottage because for us, the positives heavily outweigh the minor inconveniences.
