Substantial, cosy, spacious eco-friendly 3-bedroom log cabin (sleeps 5) nestling in the foothills of the Monadhliath Mountains. Close to many of the best tourist attractions in the Scottish Highlands. Ideal location for touring the Scottish Highlands.

Peaceful location on a hill farm 9 miles (14km) south of Inverness and only a short distance from Loch Ness, Culloden Battlefield and the Cairngorms. Ideally located for walking, touring, mountain biking with tremendous opportunities to explore this fascinating part of Northern Scotland.

Built to a high standard, with the guests' enjoyment and comfort a priority, this modern holiday lodge is heated by renewable energy systems and a wood burning stove. Fearnag Lodge is fitted with free super-fast wi-fi and internet enabled TV systems.

Fearnag Lodge comprises modern, comfortable accommodation. Heated by ground source heat pump, solar water heating and a wood burning stove, our low-carbon log cabin is designed with the environment in mind.

The bright and spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/living area has direct access on to a covered terrace. The living area is equipped with a 37” flat screen internet enabled TV with surround-sound, blue ray DVD player, iPod docking station and free wi-fi. The kitchen has all the usual modern appliances and a solid granite worktop.

There are three bedrooms – one single, one twin and a master bedroom with king-size bed. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, cathedral-style ceiling, 32” Freesat TV (internet enabled) and direct access on to a generously sized balcony offering excellent views across farmland, woodland and the hills of Strathnairn.

Downstairs, the main toilet comprises a large walk-in shower and grab rails for the less mobile. Ground floor level doors are all wide enough to permit wheelchair access to the single bedroom, kitchen/ dining/ living area, main toilet and front terrace.

The best lodge we've stayed in.
We've been to Scotland countless times to visit the Highlands. Most of the time we stay in lodges as we like the freedom of looking after ourselves and to come and go as we please.This lodge would be the best we have ever stayed in.The communication between us and the hosts was seamless. On arrival we met William and Rhona. They are such lovely and welcoming people and full of local knowledge.The lodge was immaculate. The front room was spacious and very comfortable.The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. They even provided some dishwasher tablets/ washing up liquid etc.There was also a nice little welcome pack such as eggs, tea, coffee, fudge, and short bread biscuits.The bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The downstairs has a large shower room and the upstairs has an equally large ensuite but the shower is in the bath.Our week in the highlands was lovely and the beautiful lodge made it even more special.Thank you William and Rhona

Wonderful stay in Farr
This was our first visit to William's property and it definitely won't be our last. What a beautiful house! The photos definitely don't do it justice. William went the extra mile to put up a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations for our two small chidren and they loved it. They also left delicious snacks to welcome us, which speaks of the wonderful hospitality. The property is conveniently located so various trourist destinations are within a short drive. The natural beauty of the are made every drive special and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

Cozy log cabin in beautiful area
Log home was equipped with all we needed for our stay. William and Rhonda were friendly and helpful. It was a cold and drizzly August so we appreciated the underfloor heating and even lit the ready laid log fire on one evening. The downstairs bathroom and bedroom are ideal for a less mobile person. Easy access to Inverness but still in quiet country area.Thank you.

Perfect and complete lodge, very friendly hosts
The lodge is located in a very nice and quiet environment. It contained everything you may need. It was very clean. And the hosts were very friendly and willing. We visisted several places in the Scottish Highlands with this lodge as basis.

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We had a great time relaxing in the cabin and walking in the nearby woods. Very to do inverses and easy access to all the adventure days out from waterfalls, lochs and beaches! Would highly recommend!

Highland Gem!
Stayed for 3 nights to celebrate my wife and my daughter’s birthdays. The lodge is immaculately presented and the warm welcome from the hosts was carried throughout our stay, a proper home from home! We walked the local trails, visited Loch Ness and Inverness , all within the local vicinity. Very peaceful retreat within a 10 minute drive of the A9. Even in winter the lodge is very well heated and a wood burning stove adds extra character as well as heat. The cleanliness of the lodge is of an exceptionally high standard, actually I don’t recall staying anywhere EVER that was equal. The pictures are an accurate reflection on the property and I would advise anyone who likes the look of this lodge to book it without hesitation!

Tolles Ferienhaus!
Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche in der Ferneag Lodge. Das Haus war sehr sauber und die Lage ist toll für Ausflüge in die Highlands. Zum Einkaufen nach Inverness haben wir nur ca. 15 Minuten benötigt. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und das einchecken problemlos. Bei Ankunft gab es eine nette Überraschung mit frischen Eiern, Saft und Keksen. Auch unsere Anfrage nach einem zweiten Hochstuhl für unsere Zwillinge wurde sofort von den Vermietern umgesetzt. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder unseren Urlaub dort verbringen.

Ruhig gelegen, nette Vermieter
Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig, die Vermieter waren sehr nett und als Nachbarn zurückhaltend. Das Haus befindet sich in einem sehr guten Zustand, die Betten waren sehr bequem. Leider fanden wir keinen Trockner vor wie in der Beschreibung angegeben. Laut Vermieter war dieser defekt, worüber wir erst bei der Ankunft informiert wurden und somit nach mehrwöchigem Schottlandaufenthalt Probleme mit dem Wäschetrocknen hatten. Es gab zwar eine Wäschespinne, jedoch kann dieses Haus kein Sonnenstrahl erreichen.

The property was really comfortable and equipped with everything you needed. The bedding and towels were lovely. Some really nice touches to the property, I loved the old photo of the two boys under the tree where the lodge was situated. The location was excellent, nice and quiet but only 5 minutes from the A9 and 15 from Inverness. Our hosts gave us some geat seuggestions of places to visit. We will certainly be recommending them.

A comfortable warm hug!
William and Rhona have been the most amazing hosts of all the VRBOs we have rented. The lodge was in excellent condition with wonderful spacious rooms and a very well equipped kitchen. The highlight of the trip was the delivery of fresh duck and hen eggs! They tasted divine. William and Rhona went out of their way to let us know about the places to visit (whiskey distilleries even though they don't drink) and gave us some important restaurant tips which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. You can see they love the place and absolutely enjoy welcoming guests to their wonderful home. Completely unexpected, I asked and William obliged my desire to hold a lamb. It was like a warm hug. That's how the entire stay felt- like a comfortable warm hug!

Hideaway in the Scottish Highlands
We spent a week at beautiful Fernag Lodge and the stay lived up to all our expectations! It had all of the comforts of home and the location was perfect as we were within easy access of Inverness and the restaurants and shops available there. We were able to do many day trips with Fernag Lodge as our home base, travelling to places such as Dunrobin Castle, Cairngorm Mountains, Culloden, Balmoral Castle and Isle of Skye with amazing scenery in all directions. We felt welcomed by our hosts and left knowing that we had made the perfect decision choosing Fernag Lodge.

Super accommodating, everything was clean and picturesque, well appointed, and easy to get everywhere on our Highlands itinerary. Rhona and William even brought us toilet paper when we ran out! Really easy to communicate with and hospitality was on point. My family and I highly recommend Fearnag Lodge, we've even told friends about it!!!

Our family are native to Farr in Strathnairn and have a 900 year history in this area - so we know the Scottish Highlands well and will be delighted to give advice on how to make the most of your stay in this fabulous part of the world.

We do our very best to make guests feel at home at Fearnag lodge (without being intrusive). The enjoyment of your time at Fearnag Lodge is important to us.
