Great Location
For 2 of us plus dog in October the location was ideal. Everything necessary was provided, although some of it rather worn compared to other cottages we have stayed in for the same price bracket. The bedrooms are very spacious and additional portable heaters are provided to take the chill off those autumnal evenings. We found the kitchen a tight fit to eat in and like other reviewers agree that whilst downstairs is very spacious upstairs is tight for more than 2-3 people.

Lovely property ideally located between Rock and Polzeath
Spring Barn is a lovely house in a quiet location surrounded by fields. It is well equipped with a spacious warm bathroom. The living room upstairs is comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The space outside was perfect for our dog and we discovered a lovely walk to St Enedoc church from the top of the hill. The only negative for us was an uncomfortable double mattress in the second bedroom. Otherwise it was a lovely spot and we would definitely return.

Relaxing week at Spring Barn
We had a relaxing week at Spring Barn. It is on a peaceful spot, with lovely views down towards Camel Estuary. Lots of nearby walks for the dogs, and the beach was close by. The weather was poor for part of the week, so we made use of the lovely log fire, and it was very cosy.

This was our second visit. Local office not open but dealt with very obliging estate agent next door. Kitchen utensils could have been more plentiful and up to date. Everything else was very good.

Lovely rural bolt hole with panoramic views
This is a good house to stay, but has some drawbacks, as do most holiday lets. Please note, we stayed in early January and our review reflects that! It's a 30 minute walk to the Padstow ferry, 15 to local shops. Ideal. Quiet and rural. Beds and bed linen are of a high standard, as are kitchen ware and the bathroom facilities. If 6 people were there, having only one bathroom might be an issue. The shower is excellent and not reliant on the hot water tank, unlike the bath. Good utility room and washing machine. The heating is adequate only, but a visit during a cold snap in winter might be testing as the night storage heaters don't have a strong output. The wood fire in the lounge is OK too (local stores sell kindling and wood), but needs some extra personal protection, such as heat-proof gloves. The electric heaters work well enough but they would be awkward to take downstairs to the bedrooms on cold nights. The TV is decent but the DVD is rather old and unreliable. Getting out onto the road was hazardous as the view down the hill is blocked by hedging - perhaps a mirror opposite the drive looking downhill would reduce the chance of an car accident.

Great winter break for a family of with and our dog!
Having never been to Cornwall before, we found Spring Barn to be a great location if you want to be close to coast, beaches and towns but in a peaceful retreat. Welcome hamper of Cornish produce was a nice touch too. The 3 bedrooms are downstairs, they're spacious, comfy beds and well equipped with adequate drawers etc. Large bathroom with good power shower and separate bath. The utility/boot room was perfect for our dog to sleep and kept any sand/dirt out of the house. The lounge and kitchen are again well equipped and have everything you need for a break. They are ideal size-wise for 4 but I think it's a squeeze for 6, especially the kitchen, it'd be a very tight fit for 6 to eat around the table, 4 was tight. There is no central heating, the house is heated with wall heaters, stand alone heaters, electric towel rail and log burner. House was chilly first day as no-one had been there over Christmas, but soon warmed up with heaters on. Plot is a good size but not totally enclosed, so dogs could easily get out of the open style fencing, something to think about in warmer times of year when doors are open all the time if your dog is a wanderer! Great location on a quiet narrow road, although we did see the local bus a few times on it! House is surrounded by fields with fabulous 360 degree views to the surrounding hills, golf course and Padstow. 20 minute downhill walk to Rock and the Padstow ferry, 10 minute walk to Trewint village with few shops, cafe, small supermarket. 15-20 minute drive to Wadebridge for a bigger town and Tesco/Aldi. 5-10 minute drive to to Polzeath. We found it a great base for exploring the local beaches which were amazing at low tide. We were very lucky with the weather so maximised the outdoors and even bumped into Gordon & Tana Ramsay on the local coastal path! All in all a great introduction to Cornwall. Keys were easy to pick up and drop off as we were there in opening hours of the office which is a 5 minute drive from Spring Barn. Would highly recommend for a family of 4 plus dog!

Lovely, isolated property
We chose this property mainly because it was dog friendly. It was a beautiful, spacious property, with some nice homely touches, although the garden is not secure for dogs due to a missing internal gate, and broken fence bars. Also its location on top of a rise, set back from the sea, made it quite windy, so we didn’t use the garden during our stay. The barbecue was advertised on the details as gas- but is not. There were a few minor issues such as the front door not locking properly ( fixed during our stay) and the bathroom door not closing properly- this was not fixed- apparently needing special permission from the owner who lives abroad and is not always easy to contact. In all a great family break but it would be helpful if the holiday company provided details of local amenities, footpaths to beach etc. including recycling- as you are requested not to put bottles etc in the bins ( otherwise a 25 pounds charge applies)

Great location, lovely property
We have just returned from a family holiday - two adults, two teenage kids. This is a tastefully decorated and furnished barn conversion with fabulous country views and great access to several local beaches. Daymer bay is only about 10-15 minutes walk across the golf course. Good amenities nearby in Rock too. Plenty of parking and garden space. We made use of the outdoor table and chairs. The kitchen/diner was smaller than expected, but ok for us. It would be a very tight squeeze for 6 people to sit at the dining table. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of storage space for self catering. WiFi was not great, but this is true of the local area in general. Spacious bedrooms, but a couple of us found the mattresses a bit thin. The utility space was ideal for unloading our beach gear and hanging wet towels. A lovely property in a fantastic location, thank you!
