Just like the pictures
Steven is a welcoming, accommodating and responsive host. His property is perfectly located for easy walking access to any store or service. On cool mornings and evenings the fireplace was perfect amenity. Make this one of your top selections.

Great location, really cute house
We had a great time at the house and the listing was just as expected. Steve and Christine were very commutative leading up to the trip and during. The courtyard is really nice and we enjoying relaxing out there before heading out for the night. The location is great to get downtown or head out to visit the sights.

Adorable cottage near everything San Diego
My daughter, granddaughter and I absolutely fell in love with this adorable cottage just north of San Diego and a few blocks from Balboa Park. It was located in a quiet neighborhood with off street parking for one vehicle, which is a huge plus if you have ever visited San Diego! The house is older with a very small kitchen and bathroom, but it had everything we were looking for. The property owners live in a cottage out back on the property and are available for any reason, and they even anticipated some of our needs and supplied for them before we had to ask. This property does not have central air, but there is an air conditioner unit in the living room window and several ceiling fans throughout that kept the home quite comfortable. This property is also within a 15 to 20 minute drive of just about everything: beaches, Sea World, Seaport Village, etc. and just minutes from Balboa Park. We all loved our stay in this little cottage.

About the host

We are both from the Pacific Northwest~ after living there for nearly 50 years, we wanted to try a place with some sunshine... San Diego! We've spent the last 35 years joining couples in marriage both in Seattle and San Diego.. nearly 4000 couples so far. Steve is a wedding officiant, Christine a portrait photographer. Their passion by far is the non profit 501c3 dog rescue they founded in 2011, Lucky Pup Dog Rescue. It has enabled them to rescue and place over 200 shelter dogs in awesome homes and meet so many wonderful dog lovers in the process.

Why they chose this property

This house was "love at first sight". After just 5 minutes in the house, we knew it would be our next home. That was over a decade ago, and we still feel the same way. It reminded us of our home in Seattle, in so many ways, but without all that rain! It's small but a perfect.

What makes this property unique

Craftsman homes from the early 1900's with all the quality touches never seem to grow old. Our home has been preserved in a way that one can really enjoy a bygone era.
We love to share the story about how our neighbor next door lives in the home her grandmother bought in 1912 for $5000! Our home has only had two owners before us. The outdoor spaces are fantastic, private sunny and spacious. The porch and the front garden.
