Peaceful and quiet!

We really enjoyed our stay at the guest house! It was quiet and peaceful and I loved listening to the frogs and birds outside. The hot tub was great and we used it every day. It was a quick drive into Metchosin which was lovely and everyone was so friendly! The space was large and welcoming, and the big couch in the living room was great! The beds were uncomfortable, though, and there were windows between the bedrooms and the living room, which let in light even when the bedroom lights were off. Most of the space was clean but the coffee machine had old grounds and water in it and the bedroom fan was very dusty. Some of the dishes and utensils were also dirty and we had to wash them before use. Overall though it was a lovely place to stay and the hosts were very communicative and kind!

A Stay to Remember

Great stay, we were there of 2 nights, place was easy to get to, the hosts were sweet, very cosy place away form the the city and quiet and comforting.

Awesome place to stay

We loved staying at this VRBO. It's located in a beautiful location. Beautiful place exactly as listed. Clean, quiet and a fully equipped kitchen. Owners were prompt and check in was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to friends and family.

Mountain Escape

Beautiful and tranquil spot tucked away in the most beautiful parts of Metchosin. We had a wonderful time relaxing, reconnecting, and celebrating a milestone birthday. The home is fully stocked for preparing meals, playing games, and spacious enough for six adults

College friends get away

Three college friends from the 70s got away to Vancouver island and REALLY enjoyed our stay. The lovely home, built built by the family who were so friendly, was nestled in a beautiful woody area. It had an awesome hot tub, super comfy beds, nice living area to visit and have our appetizers. It was especially wonderful to be away from the hustle and bustle of city-life and enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest. Seeing the fog roll across the mountains in the morning was delightful.

Grad Trip

My friends and I went on our first solo trip and Matheson Lake Guest House was such a wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed being a bit more removed and having the quiet surroundings, and having the dogs greet us every time we drove in! The place was very clean and the kitchen was well supplied.

Peaceful retreat

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful, homey, cabin. The large back porch overlooking the woods was great for enjoying meals. Amanda and David were ideal hosts with the perfect balance of friendliness, kindness, and respect for our privacy. It was not clear from the listing that the unit is on the second floor or that the road up to the house is quite long and steep. Unfortunately, this isn’t an ideal location for someone with limited mobility.

Awesome place, but...

The accommodations were quite nice, Felt a bit uncomfortable with the owners downstairs. Afraid to make too much noise walking, etc. Never went into the hot tub because it was outside their bedroom. At 10 pm, when I really wanted to enjoy it after an exhausting day at our conference, I instead had to fill the bathtub. Felt guilty using that much water.

Beautiful Property!

We had such a great time! The 'Tree House' was clean, cozy, and equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need. The location was ideal, offering both seclusion and a quick drive down the driveway to the lake. The outdoor space was a highlight, with a patio and hot tub area.

Perfect setting

Outstanding property and hosts, the space worked perfectly for our family of five. If you’re looking for country seclusion, this is it, with an easy commute to all the fun activities. Lake or ocean beaches minutes away, Victoria a nice little scenic drive. We stayed for 10 days and do not have a single negative item to list. Quiet, clean and perfect. Easy communication with the hosts Amanda and Brad made our extended stay a perfect family getaway.

Our chilled Treetop Week

Wonderful property in a quiet location in the trees. So relaxing and welcoming. Our hosts, Amanda and Dave were lovely and very helpful in suggesting great places for us to visit that suited our interests. Wished we could have stayed longer than the week we booked. No hesitation in recommending this property.

A perfect place to land on the West Coast

We traveled as a family of 5 to BC for the first time and were lucky to stay at Dave and Amandas when we first arrived. It is the upper floor of their main house and it is lovely, quiet, private and very comfortable. The views are amazing which you can see from the front or back deck. We had everything we needed to make meals and they even have puzzles and games we enjoyed. There is a hot tub which was such a nice place to enjoy the view. We also made use of the outdoor fire pit. Amanda and Dave were both so helpful and kind to our kids which was a bonus :) Would go back any time! Rent it you won't regret it.

Beautiful! Comfotable! Everything we needed!

Most importantly the beds were very comfortable! The place had lots of room, a great couch for stretching out on and a fully stocked kitchen. The owners, Dave and Amanda, were friendly and helpful. They chatted with us about the local biking trails and they went above and beyond by getting a bikerack for when we arrived. They also had a selection of games and a couple of puzzles we could do on rainy days. The grounds have interesting things and places to look or sit at, including a deck off the back of the guest suite. Note: The guest suite is up a flight of stairs so if you have mobility issues this may not be for you.

Lovely time near the lake

This property was located right beside Matheson Lake, which we hiked around upon arrival. Beautiful space with great light and good sleeping arrangements. Would stay there again!

Beautiful and peaceful spot

We loved our stay at the Guest House. The atmosphere is splendid! The weather didn't co-operate for using the deck or firepit but the space inside was perfect for catching up and relaxing and the full kitchen is great for cooking. We would definitely go back to stay again if we were in the area!

Location is rural, yes, but that’s the beauty of the area so plan accordingly! Lovely views from every window. Nice and bright. Comfortable bed, kitchen is well equipped as is the living room. All good!

Great spot

Out of town but not too far. Quiet and relaxing. Seemed like being upstairs above the owner and having the hot tub close to their part of the house would be odd but it was fine. Very nice vibe all of the natural wood.

Amazing stay!!!

We absolutely loved this place. The hosts have thought of everything for a comfortable get-away. The location is perfect as it is close to numerous hiking trails but still only a short distance to Langford or downtown Victoria. We will definitely be back again.
