About this property

Il Signorino

“Il Signorino” of Borgo Fajani is a picturesque detached brick farmhouse arranged on two floors. Ground floor entrance into the large sitting/dining room with Tuscan fireplace; two brick columns divide the sitting and dining areas, at the same floor there is a bathroom with shower.
Stairs to first floor lead to two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and Jacuzzi bathtube.

"La Locanda degli Artisti", a tiny cozy family pizzeria/restaurant is located few steps from the house.
And few steps away as well, "Laqua Vineyard" a Michelin 1 star restaurant!

Charming relaxing and authentic Tuscan stay
We have stayed at Il Signorino house, part of Borgo Fajani for 6 days in June. We had fabulous stay exactly as promised by Alfredo himself and his website. The house was typical Tuscan very spartan arrangement but how authentic! It was spacious and open and the views from every window were to die for. The house was beautifully restored and well maintained. Apart from WiFi there were no luxuries but they were not necessary. It was the atmosphere of the place, access to fresh local produce, olive oil and wine and a little home restaurant 2 houses down from our place. The garden was beautiful and the pool sparkling clean offering relief in warm weather. The nights were fresh and cooler and we slept with all windows opened - no need for air conditioners. Alfredo was a great host tending to his property extremely well. He was around each day and spoke good English giving great tips on where to go and what to see. Casanova is quite central to some lovely old Tuscan cities like Volterra and San Gimigiano as well as other major places - Pisa, Lucca, Florence and Siena. It all depends on how much time one has but we were happy to just explore local spots within 30-40 min drive. My husband did a pizza/pasta course in nearby Peccioli and he loved it! We would certainly recommend staying in Borgo Fajani and would stay there again if we were visiting this area. This really suited our taste - fuss free, unpretentious stay in a simple but beautiful authentic surroundings and ability to explore local offerings. We had a glimpse of Alfredo's other houses and were impressed with his insistence on preserving local history and flavour in his accommodation. Domenika, Michel and Ella from Brisbane, Australia

Lohnenswerte Tipps inklusive. Da will man wieder hin!

Rustic Charm
Beautiful location with fantastic views over the Tuscan countryside. The accommodation was perfectly fine albeit somewhat basic but didn't detract from the charm of the place. Couple of observations/suggestions : - would benefit from air conditioning units in the bedrooms. Very difficult to sleep at night and leaving the windows open merely encouraged the mosquitoes. The mosquito nets on the windows were ineffectual as there was a large gap at the bottom. - the sunloungers would benefit from cushions. - reference should be made in the literature to the spiral staircase. Particularly difficult to negotiate with the suitcases. Not a major issue for us but potential clients should be warned. Nothwithstanding didn't detract from our holiday and we fell in love with the location. Alfredo was very welcoming and approachable Overall we were impressed with the accommodation and would recommend the location.

Very nice holiday time spent in the middle of a wonderful landscape

We truly enjoyed our stay at Borgo Fajani!
The property was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, especially for breakfasts of cheese, jam, and croissants. The location was lovely and not far from the nearby towns, restaurants, shops, and wineries. Alfredo was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating to our needs. I would highly recommend visiting Borgo Fajani in Casanova.

Amazing place to stay with beautiful views of the Tuscany rolling hills
Alfredo our host was lovely and very friendly giving us lots of local inside information on the area and making us feel very welcome. We didn't want to leave the house as the villa was warn and cozy with breathtaking views of the Tuscany countryside. Everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The villa was well equipped with everything we needed to make our vacation wonderful. We enjoyed long walks and local organic produce made on the farm next door. Cheese, eggs, oil and floral honey. The villla is in the heart of the Tuscany wine trail so we took advantage of buying local wine and tasting the wine produced in Terricciola. Our experience in Tuscany was absolutely spectacular. We will be back.

Ideal location for visiting all the must see sights
Located in a small hamlet, this converted property ticked all our boxes for a perfect holiday. It is by no means luxurious, however the views from the house and grounds were amazing and the pool was most welcome in the heatwave we experienced whilst we were there. Our host Alfredo was very friendly and helpful, providing useful information about local events and tips on best times to visit the sights. There are excellent restaurants nearby and a supermarket in the next town for all your supplies. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and were really sad to leave.

Beautiful property, wonderful location, great host!
Alfredo was an excellent host and provided all of the amenities and information that we needed as well as making himself available to us throughout our stay if required. The converted farm building was beautifully renovated and had everything needed for us to make this gorgeous little corner of Tuscany our home for a short while. The surroundings were exactly as we had hoped - peaceful, rolling green hills and misty sunrises. There were a few little villages dotted close by within 10 minutes by car and larger cities (Florence, Pisa, Siena etc.) all with 90minutes by car. We will absolutely be back again to stay with Alfredo and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for their first taste of Tuscany! Thank you!!

Unbelievable and magical experience in a quaint Tuscan farmhouse
We spent 5 nights in this charming Tuscan farmhouse. The previous reviewers raved about the views from the Tuscan farmland windows. They did not lie. Magnificent views from every window!!! We spent most of our days visiting may of the small Tuscan hilltop towns. This was a great base and easy to travel back and forth from each little town. We visited Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa, Cortona and Orvieto and many others by car. The train station is a short 35-40 minute drive from the farmhouse where we caught a train to Florence for a day trip. Piccolo is the small little hilltop town about a 10 minute drive away, it was exceptional too! No tourist, a wonderful small restaurant, a beautiful church and a small museum are located in this small village. Terricciola is close by as well. This is where we did our shopping for cooking supplies and visited the local butcher and baker. Alfredo was very easygoing and very friendly. He offered up suggestions for nearby day trips and helpful advise on traveling the area. He was on site most mornings working on the property, keeping the lawn manicured and the pool clean. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay at this little gem! One of the best vacation spots we have visited. We are avid travelers having visited Spain, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Croatia, and Belgium to name a few. This was one of the best trips ever. A big part of the success was due to finding and renting this quaint farmhouse in such beautiful surroundings! Loved everything about it. Thank you Alfredo for sharing your Borgo Fajani with the world!

An Absolute Delight
Il Signorino . . . charming villa was suggested to us by friends and needless to say it was everything that they described. It is located in a quiet rural setting but so close to so many interesting towns, historic sites, wineries, restaurants, etc.. Alfredo has done an amazing job in renovating the old farm homes and outbuildings, creating some exceptional accommodation. Too, he proved to be the consummate host, ensuring that we had whatever we needed. . . . be it information, directions, supplies or advice. We stayed for a week in mid-September and we had so much fun that we hope to make a return visit in the not-too-distant future. We have been enthusiastic in recommending this property to anyone that we know who is planning to visit Tuscany. Alfredo, hope to see you again soon. Mike and Brenda

A wonderful place to stay!
When we booked this place we were fairly certain that it would be nice, the reviews were all very positive and the pictures looked inviting. But on arrival we were amazed by the real thing - even better than in the pictures, the views, the environment, the peace and quietness were all around us. Alfredo was very welcoming and a source of information. He speaks good English and goes out of his way to make your stay enjoyable. We were lucky that it was out of season, we had to share the pool only with the swallows who flew over the surface for a quick drink! Alfredo provided a very useful guide with local restaurants and shops, all were within easy reach. I would fully recommend the farm houses - but please leave Il Signorino free in September for us - we will be back :)

Tuscany at its best
Il Signorino is really a special place. Alfredo managed to create a beautiful spot in this old village to relax. At the same time, it is the perfect location for many sightseeing trips around Tuscany - Pisa, Sienna, San Gimigniano are at a distance of max one hour drive. We stayed there for one week with our son (2 years) and enjoyed the calm surroundings, as well as the cooking qualities of the village lady ;-)

Tuscany Dream
Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 2015 Borgo Fajani is a very very special place in this great big world. Our expectations of a true Tuscan experience and lifestyle were met right here. It's just like in the movies. You open the shutters in the morning and are greeted with a spectacular sunrise over the beautiful Tuscan hills. Simply breathtaking! We especially enjoyed having our breakfast in the patio, enjoying the view while planning our day. We were within driving distance to all the enchanting towns, including Cinque Terre, so it is a perfect location. It also a great place to relax and decompress after a long day of exploring. Alfredo was so wonderful and informative. He keeps the house and grounds immaculate and is very helpful with suggestions on where to eat, wineries, etc...just ask him. He arranged for Francesca to prepare a wonderful meal for us while we were visiting Pisa. She made us spaghetti bolognese and eggplant Parmesan.. It was delicious and very satisfying paired with some excellent Brunello wine we picked up in town. Emmy lives nearby and makes the most wonderful cheese and biscotti and also has jars of honey made from the beehive on the property. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return again soon! Borgo Fajani will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Eloisa and Rocco Zavaglia Tampa,Florida USA

Nice property with beautiful view and pool in quaint hamlet
This was a perfect location for my family of four(husband and two teenaged daughters) to explore Tuscany and countryside. Alfredo was very helpful in arranging Fllora to cook for us and to print boarding passes. We were able to do day trips to Siena, Voltera, and Lucca---all highly recommended. We also enjoyed exploring local wineries and sitting by the pool and absorbing beautiful view!

Fabulous!
This accommodation can only be described as fabulous! This was our second time staying at Alfredo's glorious accommodation and we hope to return again in the future. The property is spacious, welcoming and has the most idyllic views over vineyards and rolling Tuscan hills. The property is immaculate and Alfredo the owner is extremely helpful and obliging. We used his knowledge of the surrounding area to plan our visits to the beautiful Tuscan towns and villages that are a "must see". The vineyard opposite is a real must to visit with its delicious wines from grapes grown in the surrounding fields. There is a cafe/restaurants in Peciolla that serves the most satisfying cappuccino and pastries that are to die for. Also excellent evening meals. The accommodation is a shirt drive from many reasonably priced restaurants and has a handy supermarket a mile down the road. Areas to visit are Terricola, San Gimiano and the beautiful city's of Lucca, Florence and Pisa are within reach. I love this place! The property is excellently cared for on a daily basis by Alfredo, the pool and sunbathing area are immaculately clean. We cannot wait til we return. Thank you Alfredo for another fantastic holiday.

Absolut empfehlenswert!

Erholsame Woche in Casanova

Why they chose this property

Borgo Fajani is the south facing part of Casanova, a small and quiet country hamlet. It is the perfect location for days of relaxation as well as an excellent base for exploring the region. Tuscany’s main towns are within close proximity.
"La Locanda degli Artisti" is a great tiny family restaurant just few steps from the house.
