About this property

Stones Reef | Cool & characterful 3 bedroom house with parking in St Ives

Stones Reef is a cool and contemporary characterful house situated just 15 minutes on foot down to St Ives’ town centre, harbour and beaches. It benefits from having its own enclosed garden and terrace in which you can retreat to after a hard day lounging (or surfing) on Porthmeor beach! Add to that the two driveway parking spaces and cosy open fire and you have the perfect all year round holiday home from home.

Stones Reef is set over two floors…
Ground floor has living room with open fire and 50″ Smart TV with Sky/Netflix/Spotify, contemporary sunny dining room with bi-fold opening glass doors on two sides, kitchen, shower room and two bedrooms, one with king-size bed and the other with two singles.
On the first floor you will discover an extra snug lounge area with 32″ TV, window seating and stunning sea views, plus one further bedroom with king-sized bed and its own en-suite bathroom.

The second living room is a real bonus and an ideal space for children to play or watch a film on Netflix, or perhaps for their parents to escape to for a little peace and quiet! The picture window offers fabulous far-reaching panoramic views of Godrevy Lighthouse, Stones Reef (hence the house name) and St Ives Bay and beyond, and the comfy window seat an ideal spot on which to lounge or read in peace.

For those with furry friends up to two dogs are welcome at Stones Reef with some perfect doggy walks just a stones throw away. Dogs are allowed on the beaches in St Ives between 1st October and the Sunday before Easter.

The garden at Stones Reef is enclosed so perfectly suitable for children and dogs alike. A bbq is provided and can be enjoyed on the terrace with the dining room bi-fold doors fully open to truly make the most of the inside/outside space.

Some stunning coastal and inland walks are easily accessible as Stones Reef is located just a few minutes walk away from the SouthWest coast path. Why not enjoy the amazing coastal scenery on a long walk to Zennor, with a pasty and pint waiting for you at the other end in the Tinners Arms!

Porthmeor is the closest of St Ives’ beautiful beaches to Stones Reef, just a leisurely ten minute walk down to one of Cornwall’s most stunning sandy, kid friendly surf spots and home of Tate St Ives (maybe add a couple of minutes on for your return walk back up the hill!). A few minutes further on will bring you to St Ives harbour, town centre and the old fishing quarter of Downalong with its many art galleries and twisting turning cobbled streets. Porthgwidden beach and Porthminster beach are also easily accessible, as are their lovely beach fronting restaurants and café bars.

Just a two minute short stroll from Stones Reef is a well equipped local shop for all essential supplies.

The house is centrally heated plus, for those cosy winter breaks, has an open fire to enjoy after a brisk walk, with or without dogs!

Great property writhe everything we needed
Had a lovely stay at Stones Reef. We arrived to a very generous welcome pack which was a really lovely surprise. The kitchen was well equipped and the property had everything we needed including really comfy beds! The online pictures of the property were lovely and the house matched up to them. Didn't get a chance to enjoy the garden or BBQ as the weather wasn't great. Maybe next time. I'd love to return!

Outstanding
Stones Reef is a beautiful property. We had a glorious week there and were able to spend some time relaxing in the peaceful garden too as the weather was glorious. We loved the rocking bench in the garden so much that we have tracked one down and intend to buy it! The views from the window upstairs were stunning, we spent a lot of time relaxing on the sofa gazing out to sea. The property was extremley clean and tidy, and the additional touches of the food hamper and biscuits for the dogs was so thoughtful. Also it was lovely to see flowers had been put into a couple of vases, so it felt really homely. The property is in a lovely location with a 15 minute stroll into town. We walked a variety of ways to have a good look round the back streets of St. Ives! The walk back up the hill got easier each time, so my advice is to do it once or twice a day as your fitness levels will definitely improve! The house itself was perfect for our stay, it had everything we needed and more. I would absolutely recommend it as its nice to step away from the hustle and bustle of the town to a quieter area at times and it had parking on site which is rare in the town. We visited a lot of the cafe's and pubs in the town whist we were there, most are really dog friendly, but I do wish the some of the pubs were a little more updated, the ones in Fore Street are a little bit dingy! We were fortunate to visit on the week the Bier Hous opened which is dog friendly during the day, this was a lovely place to relax and the food was excellent. We were able to walk the dogs on all the beaches in the town as the summer ban was not in place We also followed the guide in the welcome book for the coastal walk into town and this was lovely too. We also spent time at The Lizard (Kynance Cove is not to be missed) and Gwithian too, where the Sunset Cafe and Godrvey Cafe are both lovely places to sit and relax. I can fully recommend the coastal path walk from St ives to Lelant, with a stop at Birdies Bistro. If you have the energy to walk back its lovely, as Porthkidney sands are dog friendly all year round. However you can always catch the lovely little train back from Lelant if not. All in all a lovely week spent in the most perfect house and location

We have loved St Ives ever since holidaying here many years ago. After living in Birmingham and London we eventually managed to fulfil our dream and make the move to Cornwall. We now live just outside St Ives, and absolutely love it!
