About this property

TRADITIONAL OLD "BUGISTE" PROPERTY WITH PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL AND ZIP LINE

The house was built in the 1890, we chose it for it's lovely garden which is surrounded on two sides by the Seran and the groin (rivers). 5 minutes walk from the center of ARTEMARE, a pretty village where you will find everything you need (boulangerie, restaurants, bank, shops...) this is the place where you can relax, forget your car and your children will rediscover the delights of tree climbing, paddling in the river and enjoying the pool while you are enjoying a glace of wine under a tree.

300 meters from the Cascade de Cerveyrieu (waterfall) and with direct access to the fierloz nature reserve, the walks are endless and the area perfect for cyclists.
At the foot of the grand Colombier (Tour de France), 12 miles from the lac du Bourget, an hour from Geneva and Lyon; you will find lots of activities for you and your family.

It's a wonderful place for families, children and dogs!!!

Great hosts, great location,great property
Beautiful location.. peaceful but lots to do locally. The village is close to perfect with great facilities. Hosts Sarah and a Claude are wonderful. Villa and grounds are fabulous. Could not be better.

Malgré un temps moyen nous avons fait des balades, un feu de camp pour manger des chamalo, jouer à la pétanque. C'est un endroit ou chacun trouve sa place. Le parc doit être visité tous les jours car de nouvelles fleurs apparaissent. Claude et Sarah nous font passer un excellent séjour et nous repartons avec d excellents souvenirs.

Peaceful, relaxing and beautiful property
Just spent 2 fantastic weeks at this beautiful property and came home fully recharged. The property looks exactly like the pictures, the garden is phenominal and the swimming pool an absolute double whammy bonus. Sarah was fantastic throughout our stay and made all of the arrangements for our dog to go to the vets. Nothing was too small or too big for Sarah to deal with and always available on the phone should you need her. Loved it so much that I have already booked for next year! If there was more than 5 stars to give I would have given in. If you are thinking of booking then book because dates go at a click of your fingers and you will be disappointed if you miss out

Particulièrement reposant
C’était un bonheur d’être dans le gîte de la cascade de Sarah et Claude pendant cette période de grande chaleur. Cela a été un petit paradis pour nous et notre chienne pendant tout notre séjour. Le Bugey est une région parfaite pour ceux qui aime la nature et le gîte est particulièrement bien situé. Je ne peux que recommander ce gite.

It can‘t get any better!
Everything was simply amazing! All our questions have been answered during the booking process as well as while we‘ve been at the Gîte. The house, the garden, the pool and the wine cellar are incredibly beautiful! Sarah was also so welcoming and heartwarming, that we felt home straight away! We will come back - soon l hope!

Lieu idéal pour se ressourcer, chacun peut trouver un endroit pour s isolé. Comme d habitude Sarah est accueillante et nous a signalé 2 restaurants à artemare qu il faut absolument faire . Côté gîte rien à signaler, la touche de sarah et claude rende ce Lieu agréable. Sarah, Claude encore merci pour créer des lieux où nous passons des vacances en famille avec des souvenirs plein la tête

Superbe propriété
Superbe propriété dans un magnifique coin préservé du Bugey. Accès au village à pied et départ de randonnée possible tout autour de la maison. Sarah, la propriétaire est extrêmement accueillante et réactive. On espère y retourner à une autre saison

Ein schönes Haus mit kleinen Comfortmängeln
Wir waren fünf Erwachsene plus Hund, das Haus und der Garten beides traumhaft, alles sehr sauber, drei Zimmer sehr schön eingerichtet und die Betten sind wirklich bequem. Wir haben gut geschlafen. Der Garten mit einem schönen Pool, einem Bach, Grill, Trampolin, Badminton Netz und zwei Fußballtoren und einem eigenen kleinen Klettergarten. Für Kinder ein optimaler Ort zum Austoben aber auch zum Erholen und Runterfahren ein perfekter Ort :-) Das Dörfchen ist ein ruhiger Ort mit einer fantastischen Boulangerie und einem Supermarkt. Die Landschaft ist sehr schön und man kann verschiedene Städte in der Umgebung erkunden oder wandern gehen. Allerdings gibt es ein paar Dinge die wir bemängeln möchten: An den ersten zwei Tagen war nicht genug warmes Wasser für alle da, wurde am Folgetag aber behoben. Der Wohnbereich ist sehr klein, für fünf Personen ist das Haus leider nicht ausgerichtet, auf dem Sofa haben nur zwei Personen Platz, das war sehr schade. Wir hatten den Frühstückskorb gebucht für den ersten Morgen, für fünf Personen, pro Person 9€ was an sich nicht viel klingt, aber 45€ für 3 Körbe mit Baguette, Marmelade, Croissants und ein paar Trauben und Saft finden wir extrem überteuert. Man hätte noch frische Butter und etwas Käse oder so dazu reichen können für den Preis. Die Küche war nicht gut ausgestattet, sehr wenig Gläser, einige aus Plastik. Man musste viel improvisieren. In der Beschreibung der Wohnung steht das Seife und Toilettenpapier inklusive sind, es waren aber nur zwei Rollen Toilettenpapier und zwei kleine Miniseifen vorhanden und die Vermieterin meinte „Wir sind kein Hotel“ Allerdings sollte man dies dann nicht für die Ausstattung auflisten. Alles in allem ein schöner Aufenthalt in einem schönen Haus. Wir hätten uns etwas mehr Comfort und Gastfreundschaft gewünscht, für den Kamin musste man die Briketts extra kaufen, der Wein im Weinkeller ist auch etwas teuer gewesen, dass man sich Müllbeutel, Seife, Toilettenpapier, Spülmaschinentabs usw alles kaufen musste ist nicht wirklich erholsam. Wir sind es gewohnt sowas in einem Ferienhaus selbstverständlich vorzufinden. Auch mussten wir sehr viel bei den Vermietern nachfragen bezüglich Müllentsorgung usw, es wäre schön am Anreisetag genauere Informationen zu bekommen. Lecker war der Apfelsaft als Gastgeschenk am Anreisetag. Danke für die Woche in Artemare

This is the second time staying at one of Sarah and Claudes properties, Gite de Cascade, and it didnt fail to live up to expectations. Lovely house in beautiful grounds in a gorgeous part of rural France.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le soin porté tant à la maison qu'au magnifique jardin. Notre fille a adoré la piscine, le trampoline et les très belles promenades dans la région. Le Bugey mérite d'être découvert !

Cadre idyllique pour une rencontre familiale
Très belle maison entourée de verdure. Le jardin est incroyable, bordé par un ruisseau, plein de recoins charmants pour petits et grands. La maison est décorée avec beaucoup de goût, les chambres et la literie très confortables.

De l'espace et du bien être en ces temps de confinement
Une propriété aménagée avec goût vous réservant différents petits endroits agréables, fauteuils suspendus aux arbres, promontoire et chaises longue au bord de l'eau... parfait pour se ressourcer et se recentrer sur des choses simples mais fondamentales (le calme, l'eau, les arbres, les fruits...).

Un séjour au top !
Séjour parfait. Le gîte est magnifique, propre, fonctionnel, très bien décoré. Claude et Sarah sont accueillants, attentifs et aux petits soins.. Avec des petits cadeaux d'accueil et surtout dispo au moindre souci. La région est splendide. La piscine un vrai régal, la table sous le figuier pour manger et le terrain au top, notre chien s'est éclaté. Bref on reviendrait bien tous les ans ! Merci pour tout 😀

Another pleasant stay in a wonderful location
We, a family of 6 + 2 dogs, had another two great weeks in the Bugey, this time in the Gite de Cascade in Artemare. The owners, Sarah and Claude, have once more done their very best to allow us maximum relaxation with maximum amenities. Huge garden with plenty of possibilities for the kids. The surroundings are also smashing. Totally recommended, we shall return!

Sarah et Claude nous ont parfaitement accueillis et ont su nous proposer diverses activités (découverte des Vins du Bugey en leur agréable compagnie, Cascades à découvrir,..) durant notre séjour :) Le logement était en parfait état, une décoration de très bon goût et une tranquillité à tomber !! L’espace extérieur nous a permis d’exercer de nombreuses activités (Tyroliennes, Bad, Foot, ..), notre chien a également profité de ce large terrain pour gambader et également se baigner dans la rivière longeant le domaine. Merci pour tout et nous espérons découvrir prochainement vos autres gîtes 👌

Belle maison rénovée avec un magnifique jardin
Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans ce gite qui venait d'être rénové. Accueil très agréable des propriétaires à notre arrivée. Les enfants ont beaucoup apprécié le jardin, avec son accrobranche, son trampoline et la piscine. Autour du gîte, de jolies randonnées à faire.

Endroit paradisiaque et des superbes propriétaires
Village peu connu, Artemare est pourtant extrêmement bien placé: à 15 min du Grand Colombier, à 1h de Genève, Aix les bains, toute une série de lac avec baignade, de superbes cascades ajouté aux paysages splendides. Bref un endroit idyllique. A tout cela s'ajoute à une villa avec piscine; des arbres fruitiers, des jeux de pleine air pour enfant (trampoline, foot, badminton) et surtout un accrobranche qui ravira les aventurier(e)s. Bref tout ce qu'il faut pour des vacances inoubliables avec en cerise sur le gâteau : des propriétaires hypersympas, chaleureux, respectueux, on ne peux leur souhaiter que du bonheur.

I am (Sarah) English and Claude French. We have four children, a dog, cats and two ponies. We arrived in the Bugey in 2004 and have been renovating the forge du Perou ever since!
After a very successful season with "the gite de la Forge"(https://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/gd/dash/661.6518378.3833690) we had the oportunitiy to buy the Old school house (we fell in love with the house and it's position https://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/accommodation/p6938841).
In 2018 we opened the Gite du Grand Colombier, a more contemporary house. Open plan with a ground floor ensuite bedroom and a stunning terrasse with unique view, we felt that we would enjoy a holiday in this house !!!(https://www.abritel.fr/location-vacances/p8681777a)
We are opening Le Gite de la Cascade this year in August to offer you a place where your kids and dogs will enjoy playing and freedom!
