Wonderful stay! Cabin was clean and perfect for our stay. Host was very responsive and accommodating. Will plan to stay again when in the area horse showing!
Our host, Dayne Miller, perfectly describes his property as a "cozy cabin." While my wife and I did not take advantage of the all three bedrooms or both baths during our two week stay, we did take full advantage of the well appointed living, dining, and kitchen, as well as both the front and back porch. Having lived in a log cabin for ten years early in our marriage, this house brought back a lot of memories. The large TV over the fireplace was great but it was all of the homey touches that we will one remember. As for Dayne, he could not have been a more pleasant or accommodating host.We highly recommend this house to anyone who plans to visit the Ocala area.
This beautiful rustic cabin was the perfect jumping off location for the things we had on our bucket list. We couldn't have asked for a better host. We fast became friends sharing our respective stories in conversation. One of the nicest people we have ever met. The cabin has a well-appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and a comfortable living room for relaxing at the end of the day. We enjoyed breakfast on the back screened porch while watching the roosters and hens and the newly hatched chick as well as coffee on the front porch on the rockers. Some highlights of our trip included: 1. Kayaking the Rainbow River to the spring head.2. Visiting the quaint town of micanopy just 20 minutes away. 3. Visiting Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens again just 20 minutes away.4. Back up north to spend the day swimming at Ruth b Kirby Gilchrist Blue Springs. And not to forget nearby McClellan farm bakery less than 2 minutes from the cabin. Awesome pastries and bread from the nicest people you will ever meet. Definitely a place to revisit. Property on a country road surrounded by horse farms. Not to be missed. We loved our stay and hope to be back again as we truly love the area.
We live in Cape Coral, Florida, and wanted a little place to get away with a country feel. We found it!
The cute quaint cabin with the rocking chairs on the front porch, large fenced in backyard with the chicken coop, and the neighbors horses to greet us. Exactly what we needed. We will definitely be back again. Can’t forget to mention the bakery around the corner what friendly people and delicious baked items. Will definitely be back.Thsnk you Dayne
Had a great last minute family mini-vacay in a country setting. This is our 3rd time staying at this cabin...we just love this place. It is just so homey and relaxing. Gave us the perfect setting to spend together (pups included). Owner was easy to get a hold of and very responsive. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
The cabin was very clean with a great atmosphere. The fire was really nice and it was provided with wood. The rooms and beds were really comfortable and it was overall a really enjoyable getaway.
The property is absolutely breathtaking! The log cabin is so special and it is like stepping back in time with the way it is put together. Fresh eggs and chickens make you feel as though you are Grandma's. The owner of the property is friendly and wants your stay to be the utmost. The welcome basket was such a nice treat. Fully recommended staying here in this beautiful and tranquil setting.
This was a great location, very nice, rustic and very well decorated place with all the conveniences, reasonably priced.
We had a blast, so did our puppies!
We’d love to come again someday.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a this charming log cabin in a rural area, and it was an unforgettable experience.
The cleanliness of the cabin was impeccable, with every corner spotless and well-maintained.
The beautiful and peaceful views from the cabin were breathtaking, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The owners and their helpers were wonderful, always prompt to assist and ready to exchange a good conversation while respecting my privacy. Their warm hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this log cabin for anyone seeking a serene and comfortable retreat.
We had a great time. The property was clean and was fully stocked. Beds were comfortable and the cabin was cozy and nicely decorated. Marie was fantastic and always responded quickly to any questions. We loved it! Kids had a great time on the property. It was great to get away from the city.
Our family loved staying at this cabin! The cabin is so authentic and cozy, located in a rural wooded area. We saw many animals including an owl on the property and a family of deer grazing at the edge of a meadow as we were traveling through a tree tunnel of moss draped Oak trees around the corner from the property.
The cabin is very clean and beautifully decorated, loved the bathrooms and especially the shower. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and extra linens/blankets if needed. The kitchen contains everything you need to cook, bake and grill.
The property was perfect for our family getaway and we felt blessed to have found it. Great for kids and the property is fenced in for the dog.
The hosts go above and beyond to be sure you're stay is very special. Highly recommend staying here!
This family getaway was all I hoped for & more. The property was large and allowed us to have good family fun. House was moderate size and slept our 10 people comfortably. I would definitely re-book. Owner was great to work with and very accommodating.

We had so much fun these past few days! The cabin is great and The Millers are wonderful hosts!
We love getting fresh eggs from the coop everyday and meeting the animals from the neighbors.
The cabin is very comfortable and we love the treats! Probably the dogs who enjoyed them the most!
Our family loved this cabin so much - we visited for a second time...and it was just as we remembered it. Very sweet & homey location in the country surrounded by horse land, peace & quiet. Charming home that offers the perfect place to spend time with your family & actually see the stars in the sky at night. Owners were very responsive and super friendly. Would likely recommend this cabin to anyone needing a relaxing getaway.
Our teen grandsons and us enjoyed this great cabin and the chickens out back. The ambiance was great and the extras reflected the hospitality of Marie. It was nice having a fire in the fireplace each morning. On our rain day, the kitchen was large enough and had all that we needed to cook with our grandsons. Nearby restaurants that we enjoyed were the Iron Skillet, the Yearling and the Ivy House.
We had a great time is this cute farm in the middle of no where! my 5 y.o. and 8 y.o daughters enjoyed every minute of it, from being able to feed the chickens and goats , to picking their own eggs, it felt like we where truly away from reality! The property was clean, cozy and appropriately decorated to give it a vintage farm feel. The only down side is that 8 people comfortably sleep and there was only 1 full bathroom. We would definitely return just because we had a great time with the family and the animals!
My teens and I stayed for the week with our large dog. Weeks before our trip Dayne was quick to respond to me about suggestions for horseback riding. After giving us a quick tour (we were a little early) we settled into a rustic cabin with all the teens comforts of wifi. DiamondOaks Farm was a great riding experience with Jen. We paddled the Ichetucknee River (about an hour away), and snorkled at the Devil's Den. Highly recommend coming during the week if trying to be more secluded with your activities. Down the street to the right is an amazing local bakery that is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Her muffins are delicious! The teens made a slip and slide on the hill, and our dog loved exploring the whole property without me stressing. She wanted to meet the chickens out back, but we kept them secured in their coop and only took some of their eggs to eat. We will definitely be back!!

Just right!
Nice and peaceful setting for weekend get away. Fresh eggs and everything else you would possibly need. Access to store was just a short drive. We were there for a football weekend in Gainesville, easy drive back and forth.
The cabin was clean, in order, and well furnished with any thing you might need. Plenty of room for our party of 5. Even a nice welcome basket full of goodies greeted us at the door.
Dayne and Marie were very responsive to any questions we had prior to our arrival. Thank you for opening up your cabin to us!
We had a wonderful stay. The cabin's location could not be better. It's like being in the country but within a short distance to Gainesville, Ocala and Micanopy. We enjoyed watching and even petting the neighbors' animals. Goats, chickens, roosters, horses. The best part is Easter the pig who is hilarious. My husband grew up in a farm and he enjoyed the sounds of the animals in the mornings. I loved drinking my coffee on the porch. The cabin has all the comforts of home. We even cooked meals. Fresh eggs were provided and we made the best omelets. I can't say enough good things about our stay. It was truly unforgettable! Thank you for your kind hospitality! We hope to return in the near future!
I cannot say enough about this house and property! The host is very receptive to questions and wanting to please her guests. I wanted a family Christmas with all of the trimmings and that’s what we had! My daughters are here for the horse show season with clients and I could cook for them with all of the pots, pans and kitchen utensils at my fingertips. On the cold evenings we enjoyed nice fires in the stone fireplace. On the warmer days I had my coffee on the lovely porch. If you’re here to compete in the equine competitions I highly recommend this place. It’s a nice quiet space after intense days of showing! Or if you just need a quiet getaway for a few days…It is also pet friendly which is a bonus. And the linens are so luxurious and high quality! Thank you Marie for providing such a wonderful space!

Our Christmas in the little cabin in the woods.
The owners are very sweet as was the caretakers...We had a wonderful Holiday with Christmas tree, decorations and all. The cabin had clean bedding and towels and we availed ourselves to the washer and dryer, free farm fresh eggs and the kids loved all the animals. The family enjoyed nights by the fire pit and indoor fireplace. The down side was the mud and sugar sand too close to the front door, and the one, main bathroom was small, only had a small shower really should get an upgrade. On the up side the upstairs half bath was newer and offered that much needed extra toilet and sink for our large family gatherings. The walls are quite thin so you can hear through them, but I think it’s because there are unsealed gaps where they meet the log walls. Roosters crow at night which adds to the charm unless you have trouble sleeping which we definitely did not! The beds were very comfortable. My family loved our country Christmas in the cabin and I’m sure yours would too!

About the host
Hosted by Dayne Miller
We enjoy nature, peaceful mornings, and scenic road trips.
Why they chose this property
This is a true, rambler, constructed by its former owner. It is a home, built with love. Our neighbors are a blessing, and it is a little piece of heaven. When you walk in, the cedar ceilings give an inviting aroma: the fireplace brings warmth and comfort during chilly nights. If you love animals, just sit on the porch and see eagles, hawks, bunnies, cats, dozens of birds, butterflies, and a dear or two.
What makes this property unique
It feels like a mountain retreat, but 6 miles down the road you have 24/7 food, gas, ATM, groceries and I-75 which takes you 14 miles south to Ocala or 14 miles north to Gainsville. It has all the conveniences of Internet, cable, in-house washer and dryer, central air and heat, but the charm of a real log cabin.
