The Viking is located at 23A Water St. in Historic Crow Head on Twillingate Island. 1 bedroom with full kitchen, living room and a 3 piece bath and most importantly a stunning view of Notre Dame Bay and its rugged coastline. If you love painting, photography, hiking, leisurely strolls along the beach or just sitting and gazing out at the mighty North Atlantic then you won’t go away disappointed. A view of Salmon Rock never lets you leave without showing you its majestic side. From crystals dancing on the shining ocean with the possibility of spotting an iceberg or a whale to a sunset that will leave you breathless and then seduce you with crashing waves of the North Atlantic and then you can cap it off with a beverage and maybe if it’s the right time of the month a full moon shimmering its light across Long Beach. The possibilities are endless.
Settle in at the end of an adventurous day and have a restful night in The Viking Bedroom on a bed that far exceeds that of the Viking days. Dreams do come true!

A Must Stay

"The Viking" is decorated and furnished to perfection with a beautiful view of the water. Mike and Ann are the perfect host/hostess. This was our favorite spot in Twillingate. Crow Head is a cute little village.

Loved the location over looking the water. Ann and Mike were wonderful hosts. The house was very comfortable and located in close proximity to the center of Twillington. We would recommend a visit to the town.

Gorgeous spot by the Sea

This beautifully decorated space sits right by the ocean, with a special spot to sit, enjoy a glass of wine and look out over the water as the whales swim by. Warm hosts and a wonderful town! Hope to visit again!

Ann and Mike, the hosts, were available beforenour stay (emails) and during our stay (they greeted us and were available for any questions). Ann prepared a cheese and fruit platter to welcome us. Mike made us keychains with local sea glass. The Viking (name of their place) was more than we expected; clean, well equipped, very well located, amazing view of the ocean. I would highly recommend it!

What a fantastic holiday experience! The location is incredible and the owners are super kind, welcoming folks. We had icebergs in the bay, right outside our picture window every day we were there. There is spectacular hiking trails nearby and the Twillingate Dinner Theatre nearby was a lovely night out (excellent food and fun).

This loft apartment is exquisitely designed and artistically decorated. Two pair of binoculars are provided for you to search for whales sometimes seen in the cove outside your window. A peaceful and quiet location on the ocean, near the lighthouse and the best cafe in the Twillingate area. The Viking is the most beautiful accommodation where we have ever had the pleasure of staying.

The Viking Vacation Home is simply superb. It is an artfully appointed one bedroom apartment with a stellar view. The ambiance is one of an artist or writer's retreat. The host, Anne... and her husband Mike... are truly dedicated to the comfort and wellbeing of their guests. If we ever went to Twillingate again we would have no hesitation staying here again. It is a thoroughly enjoyable and unique experience.

Best place ever !

This little apartment could not be more perfect. Very clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable with everything you need and more. The views were breathtaking with a beach a few steps away. The hosts are very nice, live next door and are very accommodating and quick to answer any questions. We would definitely stay at The Viking again if in the area and would highly recommend to anyone coming this way. 5 ⭐️

Comfy Cozy

The Viking surpassed our expectations. It's a great location with a beautiful view, close to Twillingate for shopping and eating out but in a quiet community where you can just relax or go walking if the mood hits you. Absolutely Wonderful!!

Twillingate was my favorite part of my two week trip to Newfoundland, and my stay at the Viking was a big reason for that! The apartment if gorgeous and cozy. I love the big picture window- I could sit there all day and watch the ocean. My hosts were fabulous. They helped me with local recommendations, and I enjoyed sitting on their porch chatting in the evenings. I hope I make it back here soon. In the mean time, I’m recommending this place to all my friends & family!

Oh, the View!!!

Arriving at the property we were greeted by the owner Ann. She took us through the property showed us everything and answered our questions. Offered suggestions for siteseeing and food in the area. There is a beautiful window with seating looking out over the water. The view is gorgeous. ! We were greeted with an iceberg infact on our arrival. Ann provided a welcome snack of crackers, cheese and fruit !! We later met Mike her husband. He too was a wonderful friendly host. We stayed at 4 different properties while vacationing in Newfoundland and this was the best. Everything you could possibly need and so tastefully decorated. Highly recommend

I was born and raised in Twillingate and moved to British Columbia in 1986. I lived in Vancouver and Gibsons on The Sunshine Coast. I met my husband in Vancouver and we married in 1994. We owned a home on The Sunshine Coast. Being a Newfoudlander and of course the old saying is that all Newfies want to return home.
This piece of property that The Viking Vacation home sits on has been in my family for 160 years. My husband and I also have a home on this property, We moved here in 2015, We have a French water dog (Barbet) named Karma who is super friendly and she loves to go to the beach. The weather is ever changing and we never tire of storm watching, beautiful sunsets, new challenge and new surprises from Mother Nature.
