This immaculate cottage features the most amazing water front views with stunning sunsets and is in the VERY BEST location on Croton Pond! This cottage features 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and sleeps up to 4 adults. Enjoy the large living room, large deck, dock, fire pit and water frontage. Spectacular fishing includes pan fish, walleye, pike and more. Only three miles to the new Dragon Bike Trail. Water Fowl migration area if you are into birding. Minutes away from world class fly fishing and river tubing/kayaking/canoeing and spectacular hiking trails.

This cozy cottage is fully furnished, including bedding and kitchen. It offers a tranquil view from a large deck to the 1,380 acre lake. It is close to the famous Driftwood Bar and other great restaurants, grocery store, gas station and more! Bring your boat (Dock is available), enjoy sun bathing, fishing, skiing, kayaking, canoeing or tubing. Or, pull the boat up to the Driftwood dock for live music on the water or dock your boat at the Croton Bay Trading Company for ice cream and take home some of the best pizza in the area. Perfect for the summer family vacation. This cottage is minutes from the beautiful Muskegon river for float tubing, kayaking, canoeing or renown fly fishing. Hiking trails prevail with miles of wonderful day or over night hiking experiences.

This cottage is cleaned between each family of renters and is immaculate. We ask that you be respectful of our property and leave it in the same condition you found it.

Frustrated

The “cottage” ended up being a trailer. Not a mobile home but a trailer. It was on a lake and that was pretty. The key, yes they are are still stuck in 1990 and used a physical key, well it would get stuck in the door. It took all my might to get it out. Not all the blinds worked. The water smelled. There was only one bathroom and the door would not stay closed.

Great stay!!

Amazing property with the absolute best views on the lake. The home had everything we needed and then some. Owners were awesome and made sure our stay was good. Lake was gorgeous and unbelievably clear. My teenage boys even managed to catch some nice walleye and pike! We will definitely be coming back!

We had an issue with the thermostat but the property manager never replied to my text or phone call. When we woke up it was in the 50s inside. It's an older place. It was clean, adequate for one night.

The perfect getaway

We enjoyed our time so very much! Only wished we could’ve stayed longer! The cottage is beautiful and clean. The lake view is stunning! We are appreciative to Shar and John for being so kind and accommodating.

Beautiful views & fun lake activities

This is a simple home that sits with beautiful lake views in a quiet part of the lake. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the lake, as well as family time inside & outside in all of the spaces available for people to gather. The owners were extremely helpful and kind. It was a relaxing and fun three days for my family.

Croton cottage

This place is clean, warm and inviting. It has a beautiful view of the lake surrounded by trees with an abundance of birds to spot. We love having kayaks to get out and explore the lake and swimming and fishing off the pier. There are so many ways to enjoy 5235 Fern St.

Great Views & Awesome Hosts!

This cottage is in a beautiful location and the views were outstanding. The seating in the yard was perfect to play cards, read or sit by the fire in their big fire pit. The yard itself was perfect for cornhole and other yard games. The stairs to the water are steep, so be careful! Nice dock with 2 kayaks that you can use. It's not a beach, so plan on taking a very short trip if you want that. The cottage was smaller than I thought, and I wish we could have put 2ppl in each room, but the beds were too small, so we had to have 1 person sleep in the living room (they do have pull-out couches, but we had an air mattress that we used). Everything was clean and stocked with the basics. There was plenty of room to store our stuff without having suitcases everywhere. They had a lot of extra blankets, pillows, towels, etc. The airflow was great and since it's shaded, we didn't even turn on the air on the hot days! John and Char were GREAT hosts and didn't mind our millions of questions when we got there. We felt very comfortable as they treated us like long-time friends. I wanted to write in their guest book, but none of us had a pen! Sorry! We left happy, relaxed and refreshed!!

Wonderful and relaxing

We loved eating out on the porch with a view of the lake, biking to the dam, swimming, using the fire pit, and running in the neighborhood. The hosts were next door for our last day and were incredibly friendly.

Relaxing, fishing, kayaking, fantastic hosts and neighbors. This is a great location as you have an elevated view of the lake and the sun sets across from where you stay. The fishing while I was there was very good. Along with a large mouth bass, perch, and bluegill that were mostly small, I got three large smallmouth bass. They were sure fun! The best part for my wife was just the opportunity to relax and do nothing. She enjoyed the views from both inside and outside by the fire pit. We cooked all of our meals in house and it seems like they had almost everything we needed for cooking. I could not find the potato peeler but likely one is hiding in a drawer somewhere. So I peeled my potatoes the old-fashioned way, with a knife. If you are fortunate enough to meet the neighbors on either side of the house that is an added benefit and blessing. It sure seems like a safe and pleasant location to snuggle into if you want to enjoy the lake time and just relaxing. There are eateries nearby and the host has given you options listed in the kitchen and how you can get to them. We would stay here again. Thank you John and Char

Beautiful home with spectacular views.

We really enjoyed our stay here, we came into town for a wedding and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. You can't beat the views and not to mention my husband loved the fishing. We would definitely stay here again.

This cottage was clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful lake view. We had great communication with the owners. The cottage had all the essentials plus some extras, ie: kayaks, dish tv. We would definitely rent again.

Ideal weekend getaway

I recently stayed with my partner and had a wonderful time! The bed was perfectly comfortable, it was extremely clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and the firepit ready with provided firewood. There are lots of steps down to the lake, but we are young(ish) and healthy(ish), so wasn't an issue for us. Kayaks were provided, but we brought our own and had a lovely morning of fishing. I also really enjoyed the bird feeder and seeing so many orioles! My only critique for the whole stay would be the poor water pressure in the shower. Thank you for hosting us!

Great time at the lake!

The property was very clean and spacious. Very nice amount of room in the kitchen and living room. The bathroom was very clean, and was also a nice size. The owners were very easy to communicate with and checked with us after our arrival to make sure everything was OK, which we appreciated. Just as the description states, the view of the lake is very impressive and probably one of the best on the lake. We enjoyed our time at the cottage and would definitely return again. Thank you.

Relaxing and Beautiful Views

We loved our stay and the lake views are gorgeous. Unfortunately, the weather didn't hold out for us, but we still enjoyed playing games, relaxing, and even taking a day trip to Grand Rapids. Would recommend.

Beautiful Location

I had a short getaway with my aunt and it was just perfect! The view from the patio was just gorgeous and having wood for the fire pit each night was a great touch. It was a little tricky at first to find the street the cottage is located on, but the proximity to a day trip to Lake Michigan is convenient for us. It was a very cozy, comfortable, and relaxing time! The owner was great with communication, available easily by text. Will definitely have to return!

Awesome stay!!

The dam cabin was so cozy and comfortable! We loved how clean it is kept and what great views! The cabin is tucked away off a main road and on a dead end so that was nice. We rent on VRBO often and this cabin was one of the best! The bed was the most comfortable that we have ever slept on! We appreciate the decor and that it was not cluttered! I was turned off with the seaweed on shore but it is so deep at the end of the dock we were able to jump in without being in any. We went to Newaygo and walked uptown and hit a few shops. Cute little town! Thanks for the great stay John and Char!

Cozy retreat

An amazing weekend from start to finish! The owners were extremely accommodating to us and made us feel very welcomed and at home. The house was absolute perfect for our group and I can confidently recommend this house for anyone looking for a nice weekend getaway!
