About this property

Cozy Pied-à-Terre @ Union Inn

Welcome to Union Inn--a licensed bed & breakfast in the NoMa neighborhood of downtown Washington, DC that is only a short two-block walk from the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro station (Red Line) and only 4 blocks from Union Station. The U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, U.S. Botanic Garden and the National Mall are all within easy walking distance of the rowhouse, while a quick ride on the Metro is all that separates guests from enjoying national landmarks like the Smithsonian, Washington Monument, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery or even the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin downtown.

Come nighttime, the Inn is only 3 blocks from the vibrant restaurants and bars of the H Street corridor and walking distance to the eclectic shops, eateries, breweries and distilleries of the nearby Union Market and Ivy City districts. Restaurants and hotspots in Dupont Circle, Georgetown, 14th Street, U Street, Shaw, Penn Quarter and Gallery Place are less than a 20 minute Metro-, Capital Bikeshare- or Uber-ride away. For the culinary-inclined, we are conveniently located 3 blocks from THREE grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, Giant) as well as 6 blocks (10min walk) from the Whole Foods on H Street NE.

Whether in town for a day or two or an extended stay, Union Inn is perfect for families, couples, tourists and business travelers alike. Inside, guests enjoy private access to the B&B's two full bathrooms and two bedrooms on the second floor--a master bedroom (queen bed with en-suite bathroom and mini-fridge) and a second bedroom offering bunk bed sleeping quarters. Both bedrooms also come equipped with a desk/chair combo and a ChromecastUltra-enabled flat screen TV.

The main level of the B&B features a large living room with a 40" Smart TV and a plush >6' couch, perfect for stretching onto whilst Netflix & chilling ;-). The main level also features a large dining table that seats 6 and a fully equipped kitchen--electric kettle and French press for brewing morning coffee & tea and a gas cooker for showcasing your culinary skills ;-). The B&B also features ample back yard space for taking in lovely mornings and evenings the same.

Classic DC Row House
We were in DC for the purpose of moving our daughter and her new husband. Freddie's house was the perfect location as it was three blocks from the apartment where we would be spending all our time. Our morning "commute" took us past the lovely La Colombe coffee shop and a great grocery store. It was a wonderful way to begin our day. As space is at a premium in DC you won't find a lot of extra room in a row house. But at Freddie's you will get an exceptional experience with the towels, sheets and bed. These items happen to be high on our list of must haves and if you are similar in taste he does not disappoint. An extra refrigerator and three bathrooms also make for fine appointments. Freddie had Metro passes for us and the nearest station is just behind his home. It takes less than 2 minutes to walk there! And his living room is full of great maps to enjoy. Freddie is there during the day so you are able to get information from him if needed. Our only worry was that we did not get access information until the day of our arrival. It ended up causing no trouble and was simple. We would have liked to have that information before we boarded our plane at MSP.

Close to metro!
Freddie was a gracious and accommodating host. His home is close to a metro stop which was one our primary goals. The area looks to be up and coming and there is a Trader Joe’s nearby which is helpful.

Cute & comfy rental in NOMA neighborhood..
My husband & I stayed with Freddie for 7 nites. He’s a 5-star host, most gracious & accommodating. Our en-suite room was on the smallish side for a week’s stay & could use some extra hooks & shelving for guest stuff but bathroom was modern & we had full use of kitchen facilities. TV service was via guests’ smartphone login/APPS to access limited cable channels but didn’t come to DC to watch TV so available service was adequate. Super-convenient to Metro, Union Station & bike rentals..would stay here again & definitely recommend this cute & comfy rental in NOMA’s trendy (& safe) neighborhood.

Great little house. Close to the Mall. Great host.
I’m only an occasional venturer into the VRBO market that lives in a rural area, so I was a little nervous about our stay in the big city. None of my concerns were justified. Freddie was an excellent host. The neighborhood is an up-and-coming neighborhood in DC, with lots of construction of new hotels and condos, with several grocery stores within a short walk, safe after dark. The Metro station is very close. For the very reasonable price this was an excellent choice.

Wonderfful location
We were within walking distance of Union Station, a hub for Washington transportation, as well as close to the mall and major museums. Our host was gracious. The room was small but beautifully decorated and provided a small frig, cards for transportation, and lots of thick white towels. There's an excellent Indian restaurant just two blocks away, and Union Station has lots of good places to have breakfast or happy hour. I'd definitely stay there again if I visit Washington.

Shared home.
I did not read the full description and about 2/3 down it hit. To shared home. I would have never booked if known. Given the circumstances Freddie was great. He was very accommodating and friendly. The home location was the best with bike share, Trader Joe’s, and Indian food real close. Quick walk or ride to US capital. Enjoy your great stay!

Great location, great host
Freddie was a generous and accommodating host, and the apartment was clean and well located, walking distance to lots of cafes and restaurants, and an easy metro (or Uber) ride to anything else we wanted. We would definitely recommend this property and stay again if we are back in the DC area.

Great, best vacation ever
Freddie was the perfect host. He was very helpful and the house was great. I didn't come to watch tv, but for people like my husband, you have to be tech-savy for the ones in the bedrms. Otherwise, everything was perfect and the location was great!

Felt at Home
We really enjoyed our stay in DC, and it was great to be able to come back to a home vs. a hotel. The place was cozy and just right for our family, although we could have used some dresser space. It was also centrally located to dinning, grocery stores and the metro which was key for getting around DC. I also didn't realize the historical significance of the neighborhood until we were there as it's located near the original Washington Coliseum. As a host Freddy was great and made us feel right at home and assured we had everything we needed and even provided us with the essentials for a 4th of July BBQ. You can't go wrong with renting this home if your looking for a place to stay to stay in DC.

Awesome Stay
We had a great weekend in DC staying at this lovely home. Freddie was super responsive and met us at the house when we arrived. He saves us a parking spot directly in front of the house which was a big treat. The house was full of all necessities! You can basically walk or metro anywhere in a few seconds. We had a great time and would love to stay again.

A home away from home
This was the perfect pad for our family of four. The location was extremely convenient with the metro right around the corner and the H Street trolley just a few blocks away. The house itself was comfortable and inviting, and felt like home after a long day of playing tourist. Freddy was a most gracious host who anticipated all of our needs. We would certainly stay again.
