The house was perfect in every sense of the word. Location. Convenience. Space. The host. Absolutely nothing bad to say. Wish we could've stayed longer.
I can’t say enough good things about this rental. We had 4 adults and 1 kid stay here over Christmas week. They had even decorated and gifted us Christmas crackers. The accommodations can seem small at first if you’re from the US but it’s really well laid out and we had plenty of space, even when we spent most of Christmas Day inside (most things are closed, so we had planned to cook in). The location in the Liberties is fantastic. We walked all over Dublin, and there are chemists and grocers nearby too. We felt very safe where we stayed—there is a gated entry and the area was quiet at night. Doug was incredibly communicative throughout our stay. Just the most lovely hosts.
Was a little worried at first, as friends familiar with Dublin were hesitant about the safety of the neighborhood. Ultimately there were no problems, the property felt safe, and even when strolling in the evening, my family of 6 had a wonderful first visit to Dublin. The townhouse itself was comfortable, and clean, and the host was VERY prompt with answering questions, giving advice about how to get a cab to the airport, and checking in to make sure we were good. Would DEFINITELY stay here again!
Very nice flat with outdoor space, small kitchen but functional and cozy living room and bedrooms. It does have a lot of stairs which was fine for our family but may be more difficult for the elderly. Overall, an excellent stay.

Nice digs but sketchy neighborhood
Doug was a great host. He stopped by to make sure everything was good. The unit itself was well appointed. Though the one bath was a bit of a challenge, we made it work. Once we arrived and began to circulate in the city we spoke to locals who told us how dangerous the neighborhood was. Though it was located behind locked gates, getting there at night put us in a bit of peril. I realized this was not something that can be mentioned in an advertisement but some warning might have been helpful.
Located in what appeared to be a lower income residential area, this spacious 3 storey town home is in 3 blocks east of the Guinness Brewery had some comforting security measures...security gate into the private parking area for 5 town homes.
We always felt safe and it was great to see a non-touristy part of Dublin with great local pubs and eating spots just a block away.
Small backyard with a picnic table was perfect spot for meals. 10 minute walk to the Brazen Head Pub and about 15 minutes from the Temple Bar area.
Sleeps 6 comfortably with clean bathroom with shower on the 2nd floor.
Great spot to explore downtown Dublin by foot.
Communication with Doug was prompt and very helpful.
Definitely recommend!
We had a great time in Dublin to kick off our six country trip in June, 2023. The weather was very hot, but with fans was bearable. The apartment was very nice and served our purposes well. It's within walking distance of Guiness and not too far from other attractions. Most of the time, we used taxis since they are reasonably priced. The apartment has all of the basics for a nice stay.
This place is very well-located with nice security gates and close to everything. Douglas was a joy to communicate with; our flight to Ireland was canceled and he helped us figure out how to move forward. He left a sweet card and champagne out for us (it was my son's 21st birthday and our 27th anniversary). How lovely is that? If you want to stay at a place with character and charm, you've found it here.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Doug and Judy's townhouse. I mostly communicated with Doug and I must say it was the easiest and most timely communication I've had with any owner on VRBO. He would get right back to me with any question and was always friendly and helpful. The townhouse was great - beds were comfortable and we really loved the location. We especially liked the kitchen - everything appeared new and modern and worked well.
The location was perfect for our family of six adults. All we wanted to see was within walking distance with a small shop close by to get coffee and something small for breakfast.
Very cute townhome in a great location. Walking distance to anywhere you want to see in Dublin. Would definitely recommend for a comfortable place to stay!
Doug and Judith’s townhouse was perfect for a family of six. A nice common area and the bedrooms were generous in size. Grocery, pubs, old city wall and Guinness all close by. Walking distance to Temple Bar. Check in was super easy and the gated entrance is a bonus. We’ll definitely stay in the Liberty Townhouses the next time we visit Dublin. Doug was very attentive and an on-site owner. Well done!
The location was ideal for getting around and seeing some important sites in Dublin. The space was a little tight because it was 6 of us but overall it was great. The host was great and the courtyard and outdoor space was nice.
Thanks a lot this place is amazing
