Blueacres is a cosy, comfortable, immaculate cottage a little off the beaten track, but close enough to some lovely towns and forest / river walks to make our stay there most enjoyable. The view from the main living area is stunning and the patio area is very pretty. The owners have equipped the cottage with just about everything a visitor could possibly need. We all, including pooch, had a relaxing stay.

Idyllic
Everything in this accommodation is first class & seems brand new. The rental is a small annex off the main house, seperately accessed by your own door, & is a perfect one bedroom retreat, with everything you need for a beautiful country stay. The view from the living room over the fields out to the hills was very restful. There was a fenced, gravelled yard in case you want to take your dog. The owners left a welcome pack & the fresh flowers were a lovely touch. We were totally impressed with the standard of accommodation and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

What an amazing spot.
What an amazing spot. The cottage is immaculate so much so I thought we were the first guests to ever use it. It is in a secluded location with the nearest amenities a few miles away, which was just what we were wanted. Fantastic owners who couldn't do enough for us. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 day motoring mini-break in the Scottish Borders.
My wife and I have just returned from a 4 day motoring mini-break in the Scottish Borders. We picked Blueacres as our base as it was central to our travel requirements. The accommodation was excellent, being contemporary, airy, and spotless, with all mod cons and lacking nothing. Linda our host was very friendly and helpful; she obviously has high standards paying a lot of attention to detail in a nice way. A welcome pack was provided on arrival together with dog treats. Fresh flowers added a nice touch making the whole experience very pleasant. Utility services etc were all included in the price with no extras. I have no hesitation in recommending Blueacres as suitable accommodation for a couple (with dog) wanting to explore the Borders, it is a little remote, meaning a car is pretty much essential, although the peace and tranquility make it worth it.

Outstanding from the minute of arrival to the sad departure.
Outstanding from the minute of arrival to the sad departure. I only say sad, as we did not want to leave. This cottage is truly out of this world. Immaculately clean with such attention to detail, coupled with the beautiful surroundings makes this a perfect home from home. Having stayed in many pet friendly cottages before I have found that owners don’t provide perfect cleanliness/furnishings and, although I can partly understand this, Blueacres took my breath away for being different from this norm. Set in what can only be described as one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Scotland, this cottage also has a south facing garden which is a dream to sit out in looking across the hills. The sheep and the resident pony are added extras and entertainment. Never before would I have been so sad to leave a lamb which had became my favourite little character. The owners are down to earth, friendly people with very beautiful dogs who all love attention as they come by and visit you at the gate. This cottage is perfectly situated to explore the Scottish Borders, Lanarkshire and beyond as well as providing welcome respite from a busy life. I think I will always return here and I think I left a little bit of my heart in Blueacres. I would love to tell no one about this place and keep it as my hidden gem however I cannot be selfish and highly recommend to anyone who wishes to book. You will not regret it. 10/10.

The owners, Linda and Jim were friendly, welcoming and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was absolutely immaculate and tastefully furnished with comfortable and good quality furnishings. They had paid a great deal of attention to lovely little extras which really helped to make our stay special. Not only will we definitely go back again we would recommend to our friends and family. The cottage was really quiet but with easy access to highlights like the Kelpies, the Falkirk Wheel and New Lanark - all worth a visit.
