About this property
Beautiful rental apartment close to the sea
In the beautiful, small and old marinetown of Horten, I would like to welcome you to my summer rental.
Beautiful first floor apartment for rent for your summer vacation. You will find the apartment in a two floor wooden house surrounded by a cute garden with flowers and space for your family.
The apartment has room for four people.
When you enter you will find a hall for your outdoor clothes and shoes- and you will also find a bathroom near the entrance with a shower cabinet, toilet, sink and a washing machine.
Further on you will find your kitchen. In the kitchen you will find pots and pans, and other utilities you will need for cooking. You will find a breakfast bench and table. And there is a dishwasher, an oven and a fridge with a freezer aswell.
If you continue you will enter the heart of the apartment. The livingroom! This room provides air and light. One part contains a sofa corner with TV. There is Apple TV with Netflix, as well as two Norwegian channels.
The largest part of the living room provides a beautiful dining area where friends and family can relax and enjoy a meal or two. There is a double porch door that leads out to a large terrace with a small outdoor kitchen, an outdoor dining space under a pergola with an outdoor fireplace. You will find a small charcoal grill and other utilities for cooking outdoor meals. The terrace is surrounded by flowers and plants that climb. There will be buzzing with bees in summertime.
The apartment has two pleasent and airy bedrooms, with two single beds in one of the rooms- and a double bed in the other room.
Approximately 5 minutes away by foot you will find two nice beaches for relaxing and swimming. If you walk down the street until you reach the "bottom" and take a left and continue until you see a small harbor- you will see a peer where local people enjoy the water for a swim. The place is very calm and has great conditions for a dip or two. If you prefer a more lively beach, I suggest you take right at the "bottom" of the street. A few minutes away you will find Rørestrand with lots of playing ground, beautiful sandy beach and a beach bar with drinks and icecream. There are barbecue grills for any guest to use. Just bring your favorite food to barbecue.
10 minutes south of Horten with a car you will find Åsgårdstrand where Edvard Munch used to live - and where the artist found several motifs for his paintings. His old house in the Munch Park is preserved and is now a small museum. You will find the house in the old part of Åsgårdstrand, in an area with narrow streets and old wooden houses.
In Horten itself you will find shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs and the Marine museum and Preus Photo museum (one of a kind in Europe).
The apartment is very close to the coastal path. I suggest you walk towards the south starting of by Rørestrand. Continue through beautiful scenery until you reach Borrehaugene Viking Area with the most interesting museum of Midtgard. This area was a Viking settlement and the heeps in the park are actual Viking graves.
Horten is surrounded by beautiful nature and many choices for scenic walks or bikerides.
The neighboring town of Tønsberg is the oldest town in Norway - and you can visit the old castle at Slottsfjellet and take a stroll at the harbor with old wooden houses- now restaurants and cafes.
The capital Oslo is about an hour away in the north direction. And Horten is about 40 minutes away from Larvik (ferry to Denmark). The local ferry Horten-Moss is used to reach Sweden.
For any questions- don't hesitate. I will provide answers.
The only thing left to say for now is WELCOME!
