Good as a base for the surrounding areas. Quirky, could do with a refresh, but otherwise very accommodating host and the pub next door does good food & beers
Communicating was easy and the property was just what we needed for a small celebration for my mam turning 84
Beds were comfortable and the cottage was lovely

Yarm cottage
The host was very friendly and accommodating. The location in Yarm is good to explore North Yorkshire with easy access to a supermarket, petrol, etc but it is by the main road and so the noise from the cars passing by can be quite bothersome.
One of the main issues in the property is the internet. It was advertised that it has internet but you can only access it if you go out of the cottage and go close to the wall across the road. If you are there for only a day, it is bearable but longer than that, it is intolerable in this day and age. One of the showers is broken so water gets through the shower cubicle and the floor becomes wet and creates moisture in the bathroom. The rooms are through and through so it would be difficult to go downstairs without going through the rooms of the others, which is not ideal if you are not in 1 family. The linen and towels need a good wash and probably need replacing.
Despite these, the host was really lovely and helpful and tried to make our stay more comfortable.
