This home is on the outskirts of Whitefish in a beautiful wooded area. There are deer and other wildlife all around. It is at the end of a private road and is very quiet and private. The home itself is gorgeous and full of items that make your stay comfortable. We had our family of 6 and we enjoyed cooking, grilling and eating on the patio and enjoying the gorgeous views from the patio. We would definitely stay here again.
We ended up being just 4 that stayed here but it was awesome space with everything you need. Peaceful setting along the river and an easy trip into town!
Whether you're running from El Chapo after ratting him out in prison or just looking for a place to relax for bit, this place is for you.

stillwater river escape
We had a wonderful time staying in this hoe. Deer, rabbits, turkey and even a grizzly bear (since relocated) were all there to greet us. Would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Whitefish.
This house was everything!!! It was immaculate!! Well appointed and had everything we needed for our week. So comfortable and easy. Beautiful property and super easy to get to downtown and to glacier. Would 10/10 stay again!
Stillwater River Escape was fantastic. Very clean and stylish place with everything you needed. If you enjoy the serenity of nature and wildlife without close neighbors, this beautiful home on 20 acres is perfect. Would definitely stay here again !
Great house. Very private. We got to see wildlife right in the yard. Clean and well appointed. Wifi worked fine for us, but cell service is very limited. (AT&T)
Only one TV with no cable, Roku or satellite service, so you will have to stream thru a computer if you want to catch a game. (We were trying to watch the College World Series) We loved it and would stay again.
Overall, the property was represented accurately online. Very nice house, clean, well appointed with everything needed.
A few points of improvement:
- the river is about a 70 foot drop from the house. There is a path down but the pictures don't necessarily show this. The owner did make me aware before the trip.
- the WiFi is poor and there's limited cell reception (verizon only). U could stream a movie, but one device at a time.
Overall, very enjoyable.

Stillwater
We came to Montana for a family/friend vacation with another family and so loved our house! It was clean and beautiful and the yard was amazing! Our kids loved swimming in the river and hanging in the basement while the adults loved watching the wildlife on the back porch in the mornings and evenings. We daily saw deer and chipmunks and squirrels playing in the yard. We had a small water problem and the company was so quick to come out and fix it. The beds were so comfy. The house is very close to town and we loved the town of Whitefish! We traveled to Glacier National Park many of the days we were there and it wasnt a bad drive either. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wonderful wilderness adventure!

We loved the house and its layout. The grounds were beautiful and the house was very clean! We would totally recommend this house. The comments below are minor, but we felt important enough to share with you.
* having instruction manuals handy for the kitchen appliances and the blue tooth speakers would be helpful
* having enough black garbage bags for the entire stay
* the double bed in the downstairs bedroom- the bedframe was loose
* an opportunity to recycle glass and plastic
* some of the dishes and pots and pans were sticky, greasy, and had remnants of food
* the bathtub floor in the primary bathroom is very slippery/dangerous
* Wi-Fi in the entire house is spotty at best
* lightbulb next to the bed in the primary bedroom needs replacing. It would be great if there were lightbulbs available so we could've fixed it ourselves.
* having oven mitts would be helpful
* having more sheet pans to use in the oven
* the water dispenser in the refrigerator doesn't work
* there was no toilet paper holder in the primary bath
* could've use some more cleaning supplies
* there weren't any wastebaskets in the downstairs bedrooms
* the plastic Tupperware was not matched. There were tons of lids and very few containers.
Far from everyone but close to town. Beautiful nature.

Myself and seven friends just wrapped up a week long stay at the Stillwater River Escape and what an incredible time we had. Located in a pretty secluded and private location yet only minutes from town, the property offered everything we were looking for in a Whitefish rental. The place had a lovely and spacious chef's kitchen and all eight of us had ample room to lounge in the upstairs living room as well as the downstairs family/media room. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and came well stocked with towels. It truly felt as though we were staying in a family members home as opposed to an AirBNB. The back deck, with a beautiful tree lined view of the Stillwater River, was a gorgeous place to hang out and barbecue. Overall I would come back in a heartbeat.
The property was beautiful and looks just like the pictures. The only issue we had was it was not ready when we arrived. I had to text and call a few times, but when I finally got through to the right person, it was taken care of immediately. It was just a communication issue. They even offered to buy us dinner one night to make up for the mistake. It would certainly not stop me from using this company again or booking this property again. We had a great time.

Exceeded All Expectations!
We loved our stay! House was gorgeous, well stocked and in a beautiful location. Close enough to Whitefish to go to out to dinner, but far enough away you felt like you were getting the real Montana experience! Plenty of room and deer to watch!

Good proximity to Glacier National Park from this lovely home!
Every trip to or from the property adjacent to the paved highway, we saw at least 12 deer, sometimes more, eating and lounging in the wheat or canola fields. Turkeys were common visitors. We encountered several Elk, including an adorable cow with her calf. But on the last day, we had the best sighting of all, three Black Bears crossed the driveway on a casual morning walk. It was amazing to see these animals in the wild.
My family (2 adults, 2 kids) love the location of this home. It is a few minutes to Whitefish and close to all the great activities we did in the area, including Glacier, fishing at Whitefish Lake, summer activities at Whitefish Mountain Resort and trips to Kalispell to shop or go to the movies.
The home is spacious. Our kids liked the basement setting with a TV and lower level bedrooms. The kitchen appliances are up to date and well appointed. I appreciated easy access to laundry facilities. My husband and I enjoyed coffee or a cold one on the deck overlooking the Stillwater River. The mature pines provide shade. And if you pay attention, the pines “talk” as the wind blows. The home is well decorated with art that tastefully meets the charm of the mountains and old west Montana. My family will definitely stay here again when we return to the Whitefish area.
We traveled to the property in our truck. The 1/2 Mile or so gravel road was no problem. Since we live in a state teeming with mosquitoes, we came prepared for the short burst of mosquitoes in the area during the last part of June. I understand that the Montana mosquitos were out of the norm for June 2018.
I highly recommend this property if you enjoy the beauty of nature with the balance of luxury.
