There are regular boat trips over to Ambleside and Lakeside, the latter of which is home to the Lakes Aquarium. From here you can take a steam train along the Lakeside-Haverthwaite railway route. Walkers can enjoy access to a variety of walks from Bowness-on-Windermere. Take a short stroll to the lake or a more strenuous hike up the valley of Kentmere.
