Indoor Description
Entrance to the property is up a set of steps with handrails each side, into the glazed porch - an ideal place to leave shoes/boots (and pushchairs) but equally a lovely spot to sit and take in the view on a day when you don't want to sit outside.

The spacious sitting room has large comfortable sofas and smart TV. A smaller sitting room off the main living area has been dedicated as children's playroom, there's a sofa, TV, DVD player and it's well stocked with games, toys and puzzles to help keep the little ones entertained. The kitchen includes an electric double oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a plentiful supply of cookware, crockery, cutlery, glasses, etc. The main dining table can seat 8 and the smaller table can seat 4. The utility is off the kitchen, this is where the washing machine is situated and fridge-freezer (freezer capacity approx 100L).

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor; one double bedroom (4'6 bed) with en-suite comprising a bath, separate shower, toilet, and hand basin. The other ground bedroom has king-sized (5') double bed plus bunk beds, and en-suite comprising a shower, toilet, and hand basin.

The impressive oak staircase leads up to the first floor and opens into a large hallway with comfortable seating. French doors open onto the balcony which has fantastic views of the coast and overlooking the village. A small table and 4 chairs for sitting on the balcony, just perfect for relaxing with a book or enjoying a glass of something at the end of the day and soaking up that view!

The upstairs bedrooms are configured to each sleep up to 3 guests; one has a king-sized (5') double bed plus a 4' bed, the en-suite has a bath, separate shower, toilet, and hand basin. The other upstairs bedroom has a king-sized (5') double bed plus a single bed, the en-suite comprises a bath, toilet and hand basin. The region
Exmoor is situated in South West Britain, specifically across West Somerset and North Devon. Often referred to as England's best kept secret, Exmoor is a wonderful holiday destination for anyone looking for a holiday in the great outdoors! There's so much to see and do, from short walks to long expeditions across the moors or horse riding, taking in a safari or sight-seeing at your own pace around the 'picture postcard' villages and hamlets.

Often described as 'the jewel in Exmoor's crown', Porlock has a long history of settlements existing on or near the site of the existing village, with stone-age remains only a short distance away. Porlock is a working village and boasts a number of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops. There are few more delightful surroundings than Porlock Vale, nestled at the foot of Porlock Hill, bounded to the north by its shingle ridge and breath taking views towards the Bristol Channel, and to the south by the rolling hills of the Exmoor National Park. The Exmoor coastline is formed mainly of cliffs but at Porlock the land flattens out and a unique mile long shingle ridge and an inland salt marsh have formed. For the bird watcher this is a very interesting site as a great variety of waders and wildfowl can be seen here in the winter as well as the occasional unusual bird passing through.

Today Porlock is a wonderful working Exmoor village and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre, several art galleries and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms.

May bank holiday

A spacious, very comfortably furnished large house. Extremely well facilitated kitchen with a beautiful, old wooden dining table. Views to die for! Minor points: GF bedroom off the dining area needs blackout curtains and its bathroom needs frosted glass.

House is fabulous. Luxury in a beautiful spot. Lovely little village easy walking distance. Wonderful view from the house balcony. Lots of toys, children loved the playroom and garden. and the child dining table. Kitchen is so lovely we hardly used the lounge which is also comfortable and a lovely room. the only reason I put 4 start for location is because you need to get the car out to visit a sandy beach, but this is clear from the details. All in all we had a wonderful family holiday at Redway!

Fabulous property with wonderful views, comfortable beds and ample space. We originally booked Redway Lodge for two families attending a local wedding, unfortunately the wedding was postponed due to COVID-19, however we were so pleased that we did not cancel as we had a perfect time here. An excellent place to relax and enjoy what Porlock had to offer. Weather was fantastic too! We would love to return again for the wedding next year but sadly Redway is already booked up.

Brilliant house for a group in our case or two families. Kitchen had everything and more. Loads of space throughout the house and even a balcony and a play room for kids. BBQ area is great. Say thanks to the owners from us please, as I have hired many places like this and it is the best we have used. Great for walking and mountain biking. Loved the walks and tracks nearby. Cannot fault it , felt like home. If there is a next time I will book a longer break. IAN from Newcastle Upon Tyne

Fantastic house in a great location. Lots of space, in our case for three couples, equipped to a high standard with everything we needed and more. High point is the balcony giving wonderful views across the Severn Estuary to Wales. This is probably the best value house of it's type we have ever used, so please pass our thanks to the owners. We had a problem with a shower door one morning, called the number given in the handbook and it was fixed within a couple of hours. That is what I call service! Porlock and the surrounding area is a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday; we may well return......
