About this property

"Old Guest House" - Historic Archipelago villa

Welcome to Köpmanholm in the Stockholm archipelago and this 19th century boarding house. This old hotel building has undergone extensive but gentle refurbishment and can now be rented for holidays, corporate events or family parties. You will have the whole house for yourselves (with a total of 21 beds) including the side building "1812 house" for dinner and entertaining.

This is a house with room for many - with eight bedrooms, dining room, lounge, library and a veranda the house is suitable for groups up to 21 people. Two modern bathrooms, a large modern kitchen and new laundry room let you enjoy the historic atmosphere without compromising on comfort. The garden has large lawns with plenty of space for play and an exciting environment with stairs, trees, rocks, the old soldier's cottage - and the "1812-House" for dinner and socializing of course ... All this creates a nice old-fashioned environment with many pleasant places to have your coffee or evening barbecue.
The setting is magical, here on the Furusund Strait the big cruise ships majestically sail by and the view from the house is breathtaking. The house is located in the village of Köpmanholm with the small supermarket / kiosk and the car ferry within sight.
The house has a great history with interesting stories about the ship pilots in the 1800s, liquor smuggling during Prohibition period ("The smuggler king" Uno Osterman was born in this house) and the hotel era when the Stockholm nobility enjoyed the archipelago.
The history has been observed and documented in the program series "It sits in the walls" in Swedish Television, and may be viewed on the SVT play.

Dining
The large table in the dining room "Salen" has room for 14 people, and with an extra table you can easily fit in a long table with room for 20-25. Upstairs on the glass porch there is a dining table with room for 6 people.

Heating, AV, IT,
There is electric radiators in all rooms. The fireplaces should not be used - the chimney is not fixed yet. 40 inch TV with the free channels (SVT1, SVT2, TV4, TV6). Internet is currently not installed (waiting for fiber installation late 2019), but the house has good 4G coverage from all major service providers. You may consider bringing your own hot spot to provide wifi to your party.

Fire safety, alarm etc
Please observe. The fire safety rules are the most important rules for the house. Four extinguishers and fire blankets are found behind the double doors to the living rooms on both floors.
There is also a fire and burglar alarm installed in the house. For your safety and to protect the house. You will get information on how to deactivate the burglar alarm before you start your rental. Precaution should be used if lighting candles in the house. We recommend safe heat lights "heating lights" in aluminum cups. If you want to use long candles you can only have these lit while there are people in the room. None of the fireplaces in the main building should be used. chimney is not fixed yet. This is an open fire place in the 1812 house that can be used.

In the garden we have a 4.2 m long wooden table with two benches where you can have 20 people sitting. there is a big Weber gas barbecue grill. There are two tubes for gas using the primagaz / Statoil system. Sorry we cannot guarantee they are filled when you arrive.
