Myself and 4 friends stayed here and had a wonderful time. The view is beautiful, it was perfect with the 3 bedrooms for all of us. We enjoyed the lake along with the convenience of restaurants near by.
Came to the area to fish. Great location for getting to the areas we wanted to fish from Clayton to Henderson Bay. For 70plus old men this was a no frills property that offered everything we needed.
Our week at the house in Cape Vincent was pleasant and easy. We found many things to do during the day, and spent our evenings by the fire pit watching the sunset over the boat house and my son loved fishing with his dad. Even unplugging was nice. Didn’t miss the Wi-Fi. Bring some DVD’s!
We had a wonderful time staying at this cottage. It was clean, cute, and Coral was pleasant to work with. The fishing was great, getting most of our fish right at the end of the dock. The sunsets and view of the bay and lake were very nice.
Some down sides were that the boat house had no closed doors so it was a big bird house with many barn swallows in it. Outside shrubs could use some attention. Also, for some people the steps throughout the house could be a problem. It wasn't for us.
Overall it's a lovely place for the money.
Check in went smoothly. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We loved the sunset on the St. Lawrence River every night. We made good use of the fire pit. With all the windows open there was always a nice breeze through the cottage.
It wasn't a problem for us, but just so others know. This is not a handicap accessible cottage. When you enter, you come in through the kitchen. There are 2 steps down to the living area. Then there is a good size step up into the master bedroom. There is also big step up from the living room into the bathroom. Waking up at night, being sleepy, you have to remember there is a big step down out of the bedroom. For the able-bodied and folks unlikely to forget about the steps---this is a lovely vacation spot and we had a great time.
Beautiful lakeside cottage on Lake Ontario! Relaxing lakeside was exactly what our family needed. Sunsets were amazing, fishing was great and evening campfires were perfect. Cape Vincent is a charming little town. If you want to checkout Clayton and Alexandria Bay both are short drive on RT12.
Will definitely bookmark this cottage for a future vacation spot!
everything was great. would be better if property had internet.

Lakefront Cottage
The cottage is beautiful with great views of the water and there was plenty of room inside and out! Coral (owner) was wonderful and explained everything upon arrival. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Nice property inside. Needs TLC from owner
Nice property, but owner doesn't do much to make the property look good. Shrubs around outside were haphazardly trimmed and debris not well cleaned up. All of the windows had so many cobwebs between the window and screen that it really obstructed the beautiful view of the water front.
Coral was truly a most wonderful person to offer their cottage home for a rental. A very comfortable cottage home to make for a relaxing stay. Very nice neighbors, quiet area and easy
access to the waters on Cape Vincent. The boat house was very nice to keep our 22ft boat out of the elements and easy to dock. We felt save to be out and about yet staying social distancing. The small town of Cape Vincent accommodated shopping very nicely. Stay here at Nicholas Cottage if you have a chance...you will enjoy a wonderful stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. Just the right size for a family of 5. First time we had a boat house at a rental and it was used for our boat, and swimming & fishing for the kids. Large yard and garage for storing bikes. Great place to vacation at both the lake and thousand islands. Thank you Coral!
This delightful cottage was a wonderful place to stay for our week's getaway on the lake. The kitchen has everything needed for meal preparation. It is spacious and comfortable. One of my favorite things about this cottage was the water view. There are SO many windows allowing you to stay visually connected with the water front any part of the dwelling. I enjoyed waking up in the morning and watching the water from the bed! The sunsets are beautiful! The yard is extremely roomy and has a firepit where we enjoyed many evening campfires. All in all, we are looking forward to a return to this site next year! Thank you, Coral, for a wonderful week! Oh yeah, did I mention that there are some BIG pike in this bay?
Cottage was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. Owner was pleasant. However outside area around the house had too many weeds and front entranceway could be upgraded

Laid back vacation
The cottage is exactly as pictured! Comfortable and adequate. Be sure to bring your camera as you will want to capture the breathtaking sunsets over the water. The fishing was great when we were there , drop your line get a fish, drop your line get a fish! The canoe was perfect early morning and at sunset when the water was like glass. Best yet is my family learned they can survive without TV! We enjoyed the wildlife that was all around. The boathouse and dock made the perfect gathering spot for my family. We would love to come back. Owners very helpful!

Everything you need for a great vacation
This sweet cottage has everything you need for a nice, relaxing family vacation. We came from Virginia with 3 teenagers not knowing what to expect but we were not disappointed. The cottage was very clean, spacious, and well maintained. The kitchen has everything you will need to prepare almost any meal, all I added was a crock pot since I get lazy on vacation! The boathouse and dock provided a cover for our boat and fishing opportunities everyday, as we landed smallmouth, perch, and rock bass. There are plenty of crawfish if you are so inclined to get in the water and catch them - we did and had fun doing it. Swimming is wonderful right from the shore for little ones or for adults off the end of the dock. There is a swim ladder as well. Owner provided a canoe for us to use, which was perfect for a early evening paddle. The fire pit is in a great location and a great deal of quality family time was spent there each evening. I happen to like the fact there is no wifi or cable television - with smart phones these days it just isn't necessary on vacation. The washer and dryer are very convenient, especially with children. Another plus is the location - the 1000 Islands area has much to offer and is a very short distance from Canada. We took the ferry over one day and it was easy and fun. We absolutely cannot wait to come back, we will be talking about this vacation for a long time to come.
