I should not be reviewing this apartment, because Alba, the owner chose to move me from this apt to another owned by someone else the day before arrival without consent or notification. We arrived in Lucca (I alerted her that we would be out of touch until back on wifi) Parked outside the walls of Lucca and walked to the apt. Waited and Waited. Finally got a message from Alba's friend Guiseppe that we would NOT be staying at Alba's apt, but instead at his which he said was "nicer".
Apparently Alba had a tenant who wanted to stay 2 more days so she opted to reroute my time in Lucca and keep the other tenant in place. NOT COOL !!! I booked this apartment for a reason. A ground floor studio, no stairs. We were met by Giuseppe at his apt (25 minutes later, while we waited in the alley) and taken up 4 flights of stairs to an appt with a "loft" bed and yet another flight of stairs.
Alba, you had no idea what my physical abilities were. You simply farmed out my reservation to someone else. We in fact are completely physically able to manage those stairs, but you did not know that.
Travelers, do not trust this owner. She never once communicated with me, simply turned this booking over to her friend and never, once contacted me or offered any type of apology for the inconvenience.
I cannot even rate the apt where we stayed because I did not book it, nor can I find it on VRBO... not even sure if it is a legit host. Giuseppe's apt was not something I would have booked... EVER !!!
Alba .... bad form. Definitely not a super host, I booked your apt after great deal of research and communication with YOU. Not your friend. His communication was slow and/or not at all. We asked for a fan... for the upstairs loft which was STEAMING hot. he dropped it at the front door with only "Ciao" and walked away.... not available at all. The apt was il-equipped and nothing I would have given a second glance to
But the fact of the matter is, that's not his fault. I did not book that apartment. Not sure what the rules are with VRBO, but I would think this would not be in line with their protocol.
These were 2 days of my travel that I will never get back. A Complete disappointment not only in the apt that we were shuffled to, but in Alba as a host or should I say a NON-HOST since She unilaterally decided we were not worthy of her time, a text, a message, or any form of "gee, sorry it worked out this way"
I rate this apt a ZERO
