We have been staying here several years and it is a great location. Although the house is aging and needs some repairs and updates, it has everything you need to have a great stay. The house has plenty of room and is next to the beach. The beach, the star of the show, is a short walk out of the back door. The house is close to shopping and restaurants.
The stay was nice. The windows were very dirty. I had to clean the downstairs windows in order to see out.
Dust build up on window blinds and window sills. Dust build up on baseboards. Refrigerator is very dirty. Place definitely needs a good deep cleaning.
Ice maker did not work.

Lane Beach House, Nags Head
Older house that needs simple repairs. There were nails popping up on the back and side deck and we had young children running around in bare feet. House has very poor lighting at night so reading with the kids at night in the living room was very difficult. Kitchen is well equipped. Nice room set up. Large master bedroom. Very small bathrooms but not a problem. Would have been nice to have had a broom. Not something you want to buy for one week, but it would have helped to keep the house clean. The beach is very nice but there is no view from the back porch. The dunes are too high. Some houses have decks built on top of the dune but the one that this house had was covered with sand and not high enough. Overall it was clean and sufficient for our family.
This property is exactly what I think of when I think of a beach house. It isnt new and shiny, nor should it be.
We loved the home, the location, and the fact that linens were included. Unfortunately we won't be staying here again due to property management issues.

House needs major updates
Really the only pro was location.
Cons:
Nails poked up on decks and walkways. Bathroom toilets didn’t flush well, shower curtains were mildewed and molded. Master bathroom tub did not drain good so you end up standing in ankle deep water while showering. Some of the doors didn’t lock properly. House overall was very very dusty and desperately needs an extensive deep clean. Could use a pest control service as there were numerous silverfish throughout the house and we did see a waterbug in the kitchen. Furniture downstairs is shabby and dated. Entire house needs actual lights, not lamps!!!!!!! Ended up buying my own dishes to cook with because the dishes there looked nasty. I did sweep the floors prior to check out but there was no vacuum to do the upstairs rooms with carpets.
Could be a very nice rental with some TLC.
Even though the location was great, unless major updates / deep cleanings are done I would not consider staying here again.
The location of this house to OBX amenities and the beach was wonderful. The access to the beach was right off the deck and it was our own secluded portion of the sea - truly beautiful. The house was in disrepair and is in need of attention. Not a single bedroom or bathroom door properly closed or locked. The AC does not work properly and it was difficult to get it to cool the house to anything lower than 76 (which was hot). The wifi was very spotty and unreliable (could not connect for anything longer than a few minutes and then it would drop and the modem would have to be restarted). Lamps in bedrooms were missing light bulbs, making it completely dark with no overhead light. The furniture and the house was not functional, was totally worn, and looked like it was from the 70's. Even the furniture on the deck was made with PVC pipe and not sturdy. The deck itself has many nails exposed and a hazard for walking. The beds are by far the worst part of the house, they are solid as a rock and it feels like you are sleeping on the box spring. The property management company/owner should immediately seek better mattresses - they were utterly horrible and not one person in our group could sleep on them. We even went and bought air mattresses because the beds were so bad. Overall, the location is perfect however, I will not stay here because the house is not adequate. There are so many other options in OBX to rent - if you want a good night sleep and a functional house, please don't stay here.
This house is very well appointed with all the essentials required for a relaxing stay. There is plenty of space to accommodate a large group and we were all very impressed with the functionality of the place. The tables and chairs are all comfortable and sturdy and there were many places for the group to gather. We gathered in the kitchen, living room, sitting room and all over the deck. The AC and other appliances (dishwasher, washer dryer and stove) work great. Sure, we'd rather cook on a gas stove but we're at the beach so electric is a small sacrifice. The carpet upstairs is extremely comfortable and a welcomed cozy addition after spending the day on the beach. The outdoor shower was AMAZING, just like the beach and ocean at this location. The deck will need some attention soon but that is to be expected as mother nature is very strong in this location. My only hope would be a little more deck maintenance before our next visit, we will be back!
Great little house in a wonderful section of Nags Head. Would love to rent again next year. Would hope the owners would do a few upgrades; i.e. a new hose on the deck, fix cabinet door handle and doors to the washer/dryer. Also, review the cleaning process. Bathrooms were not clean.
Always a good experience with VRBO and your app makes everything so convenient. We only use VRBO now because we like to take mini vacations and there is so much to choose from for a 3 or 4 night stay in the OBX. We also like working with parmount destinations. They were very helpful.

Good Location
Overall we enjoyed our stay. This is an older house, which is not a problem for us. It is in a good location. Our only complaint is that it was not as clean as it could be. The kitchen garbage can looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in quite some time and there was dried liquid and trash in it, under the liner bag. The floors were dirty and the tub had a film. The linens, sinks and toilets were very clean. We probably would not return to this house.

Ocean front and GREAT weather
We loved the location and the house accommodated us just fine. This cottage is dated just like the photos show, but we didn't care. We don't rent for the decor, but the ocean frontage. And it gets 5 stars for that! Great location. Happy that the owners shared their little piece of heaven with us! We had a wonderful vacation!!
