Riverwood Lodge & Guest House

Discover a picturesque escape at the foot of Mt. Adams at this four-bedroom Trout Lake property, a beautiful lodge and adjacent guest house with a gorgeous private deck, nearby access to hundreds of miles of muti-use trails for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and mountain biking in the summer, and an incredible piece of property on the shores of the White Salmon River.

Stunningly situated on a six-acre parcel of land with 625 feet of riverfront access, this upscale retreat is secluded, elegant, and surrounded by open countryside. Here in the pine trees, you'll be just one mile north of the town of Trout Lake, three miles south of cross-country skiing and snowmobiling at the Pineside Sno-Park, and 26 miles north of Hood River on the banks of the Columbia.

No matter the season of your vacation, you'll also have access to a bounty of local hiking trails, snowshoe trails, and river rafting excursions in the surrounding Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mt. Adams Recreation Area.

Step inside the three-level main house to find a living space that seamlessly blends comfort, luxury, and charming alpine atmosphere. Gather with your loved ones amid exposed brick and natural wood beams, cool off on summer days in the central AC, or curl up by the fireplace on snow-filled winter evenings.

Begin each morning in the beautifully appointed gourmet kitchen, an open space that overlooks the river and the backyard. Heat up the waffle iron, grind some fresh local coffee beans, and blend some fresh fruit for homemade smoothies. You'll also have a stainless steel gas stove, plenty of island seating for your sous chefs, an eat-in breakfast table, and a dining room with space for 12.

Stack the plates in the dishwasher and head outdoors to enjoy your breathtaking natural surroundings. Read a book at the table on the deck as the river rushes beneath you, entertain family and friends in the covered pavilion, or light the gas grill for an al fresco lunch around the picnic table in the grass.

Watch your children squeal with delight as they play games of tag on the grass. As the sun begins to set, take that as your cue to grab a seat by the firepit on the covered porch, or recline in an Adirondack chair by the stone fireplace in the pavilion.

On summer and winter nights, the whole group can retreat to the media room downstairs, where you'll find a 70-inch cable TV (basic cable only), a DVD player with a small collection of films, and surround sound that is wired both inside and outside of the home. Throw a few logs in the wood-burning stove and challenge your kids to a few friendly games of pool, foosball, or poker.

The main house features three bedrooms and three bathrooms that will accommodate as many as six guests. The bedrooms offer one king-size bed, one queen-size bed, and a set of twin beds, respectively, as well as two queen-size pull-out beds. The fourth bedroom and bathroom are located in the guest lodge above the garage, which provides the perfect amount of privacy for four more guests. The maximum occupancy for the whole house is 10. The one guest house bedroom has a king-size bed and a futon. There's even a small living room, a convenient kitchenette for preparing midnight snacks, and a gas-powered fireplace to add warmth and character.

Additional amenities at the Riverwood Lodge & Guest House include WiFi and a private washer/dryer, which will help you research and prepare for every possible outdoor adventure. Event use available for an extra fee. Please ask reservationists via telephone for more information.

Although this home is a spectacular destination in its own right, you'll also be within minutes of fantastic recreation in winter, spring, summer, and fall. Come winter, heavy snow conditions can provide guests with ski-in/ski-out access to the nearby Pineside Sno-Park, where you'll find groomed cross-country ski trails and snowmobiling opportunities at the foot of Mt. Adams.

Come summer, join River Drifters, Wet Planet Whitewater, Zoller's Outdoor Odysseys, or one of the other local outfitters on the rapids of the White Salmon River. Windsurfers will be a short drive from world-class conditions on the shores of Hood River, while hikers will find countless trails in the Columbia River Gorge and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. You can even hop on your mountain bike and find miles of traffic-free roads just outside your front door.

Come and discover the privacy, luxury, and beauty of this Trout Lake escape - book your Washington vacation today!

The property is just awesome.
There's so much to do and definitely not enough time to make use of it all. Multiple outdoor fire pit options, a table that sits right over the river, a large downstairs rec room, a comfy main floor living room... The list goes on. If you have a large group and you're doing activities in/around Hood River this is the place to stay. The only negative I can think of is that the kitchen organization is a bit confusing but it has all the pots and pans you'll need once you do find them.

Saying good bye to Dad, returning him home
We came from all corners of the United States to say goodbye to an amazing man. We brought him home and spread his ashes in the White Salmon. What a tranquil property to pay tribute to an amazing man.

Family Fun
We had a great stay and lots of fun. The property is beautiful with lots of room to roam. The beds are comfortable and the house is well equipped with lots of space. The outdoor space is ample with many grassy areas to play and a great outdoor pavilion and deck on the river. The White Salmon river runs right next to the house and is a risk for small toddlers or young children. I highly recommend this place for adults

Everything we'd hoped for
Each spring, our friends rent a house to get out of the city for a long weekend. We look for a place that offers immediate access to nature but also comfortable indoor spaces with room for a big group. Riverwood Lodge has it all. And the fireplace by the river—calling it a fireplace doesn't do it justice—is amazing. I'd bet that we wind up going back.

Riverwood was the perfect place for our all women retreat. The kitchen is big with a center island for talking while cooking. Lots of space, and bedrooms. It is a beautiful setting with a river running through it. We spent a couple of hours in the hot tub -- just because it was such a great setting. Thanks for having such a wonderful place and sharing it.

We spent a lovely weekend at Riverwood in January, celebrating two birthdays. The spacious warm log home accommodated 7 of us with no problems. The large but cozy well stocked kitchen provided everything we needed to create delicious birthday fare. The river view from the kitchen only added to the fun of group cooking. Our last morning, while cooking breakfast, it snowed, which only added to the charm of our experience. We didn’t want to leave!!! Can’t say enough good things about this beautifully maintained property.

Nice vacation spot with family!
The house is very nice with a kitchen that is great for visiting while cooking. Beautiful setting with the small river in the backyard. We all loved the Pavilion with its big fireplace. I have nothing bad to say about our stay.

WOW!
All our guests could say was “WOW!” What a gorgeous location for a get together. The outdoor fireplace down by the river was a popular spot to mingle and talk story. The main house looks and feels like a vintage hunting cabin only with all the modern conveniences. As always the kitchen, became the meeting spot to have a coffee...or a beer, with the view of the river outside the windows beckoning. Trout Lake offers all sorts of diversions including hiking, biking, skiing in the winter always with Mt Adams watching over us. We can’t wait to return to this idyllic homestead.

We came to Riverwood for a small company retreat. The house was immaculate and spacious. Everyone had room to find their own quiet spot to read or reflect, and the gathering spaces were large enough for everyone to come together for a meal, cocktails around the fire, or a soak in the hot tub-all with the sound of the river rushing by. This place has to be seen to be appreciated. So much attention to detail-truly everything has been thought out for making your stay comfortable. The location is an outdoor fan’s paradise. Some of us hiked, some road biked, and several explored gravel roads by mountain bike. Endless terrain to explore literally right out of the driveway. Seriously-you could spend weeks here and not ride the same trail/road twice. The hiking nearby has epic views and the river has everything from wild to mild. The little village of Trout Lake has everything you need-general store, coffee/pastry/wood fired pizza shop, and outstanding food and beverage at the Trout Lake Inn. Can’t wait to come back and spend more time in this area!

Beautiful property but we had several issues during our stay
Beautiful home and well furnished. However, we experienced several issues during our stay. 1. The lower level reeked of smoke and was unusable; 2) The outside hot tub jets did not work. What good is a hot tub without jets!?! 3) Shower/tub in twin bedroom did not work and probably never did. There was fancy wallpaper around the shower and no shower curtain. So they advertised a full bath in every bedroom, but one couple had to go to someone else's room to shower. 4) There was no air conditioning in the guest house. We were there during a heat wave and really needed it. This should have been spelled out in the listing and at least have some fans available for the guest house. 5) There was a bat in the master bedroom that only showed itself at night. We reported it to the management company (Vacasa) but got no help or even a response. 6) There was only one hair dryer for a house with four bedrooms, one of which is located outside and over the garage. They should have a hair dryer in every bedroom. Having said this, I would probably return if I were visiting this area again. There were very few options for a group (4 couples). The home and property are drop dead gorgeous. We especially enjoyed the deck by the rushing stream. Wonderful outdoor porch, too.

Heavenly
We reserved this place for my girlfriend's surprise birthday party!! The property is isolated, clean, serene... It has all the amenities one can ask for a beautiful getaway and fun time with friends and family. Close to a lot of good hikes. Beautiful, fast river flowing right next to this house is the biggest highlight. Got ourselves a beer or a glass of wine, and sat outside listening to the flowing water and we forgot all our troubles. Definitely looking forward to booking this house soon again. Summer has just begun.

Family get together
The house was perfect for a gathering of our family. The kids could play downstairs and the adults relaxed upstairs. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The well-stocked kitchen was used to prepare all of our meals. We also enjoyed visiting the general store and cafe! Good food and drinks at reasonable prices. We usually took a day hike in the nearby national forest; so many easy hikes to beautiful waterfalls!

OH MY GOD - What a fantastic place!!! Beautiful home in a beautiful setting right on the White Salmon River. Multiple fireplaces, great outdoor hot tub just steps away from the river. The home is luxurious and well-appointed with a very modern kitchen including 2 ovens and top shelf appliances. Lower level rec room has pool table, Foosball table and big screen TV. This was a great get-away. Stay here - you won't be disappointed!

Ultimate Relaxed Retreat
We had an opportunity to stay at Riverwood this winter, right as the first snow of the year began to fall, and am already looking forward to returning. Riverwood is an amazing home and retreat located on the banks of the White Salmon River just outside the amazing town of Trout Lake, Washington. The layout of the house is perfect for big groups and families that are looking for the ultimate relaxed retreat that you will never want to leave. The only real reason to the leave the house is visit the outdoor hot tub, one of the multiple outdoor fireplaces, or to ski just across the street and access some great cross country ski trails with sweeping views of Mount Adams.

I highly recommend this lodge.
Six of us stayed here for TH to MN to be able to enjoy Trout Lake/Mt. Adams bike ride. The house easily held all of us (3 nice bedrooms upstairs and a futon downstairs). The kitchen had all the necessary cookware, utensils, coffee maker, etc. to allow us to make a nice family feast. It was wonderful to sit and relax next to the White Salmon River. I highly recommend this lodge.
