About this property

Stay Central, Bang For Buck, Zone 1

London’s official centre! We’re located between two completely contrasting neighbourhoods: The busy Edgware Road, where you can get the freshest, best kebabs at any time of night or shop for bargain fruit and veg, at a real London street Market and sample real street food (as opposed to expensive Hipster Street food). Walk in the opposite direction and you’ll find: Little Venice prettily perched on Regents Canal (and part of a wonderful canal walk). Little Venice is home to London’s chattering classes. As well as being very pretty you’ll find the best, most exotic fruit and veg shop I’ve ever seen, one of London’s oldest (and finest) wine merchants as wells as cafes, organic butchers & grocers and little boutiques. This place is a wonderful crossroads and a great place to explore London from for the curious.

Landing in London
This place is pretty convenient from wherever you land in London. Paddington is a twenty minute walk away, or super quick bus ride. So perfect is you arrive from Heathrow or have been visiting Bristol, Oxford, Cornwall (etc). If you come from Stansted or Luton get off at Marble Arch or Baker street, and it’s a very very short bus/underground ride. King’s Cross/St. Pancreas also a short ride away on the underground (Eurostar) as is Victoria (Gatwick).

Underground, Bus or even Bike!
I think a real plus point is that there is an Oysterbike stand literally 2 minutes from the flat, which means you can travel for free by bike round central London! (Oyster bike stands are only found in the centre). 3 mins away are a couple of bus stops with many, many bus routes, also a cheap way to travel though not free! But if you want to spend top dollar on your transport, but admittedly get there faster then there are 3 tube station nearby the nearest is 8 mins walk away the furthest 15, and you have 4 lines to take far and wide.

For Iconic London?
There are so many ‘must see/must do things’ - but just to get your bearings... Regents Park is 15 minutes walk away and Hyde Park/Marble Arch are a good 25 mins by foot. You could be in Baker Street in about 15-20 mins and the same for Notting Hill, home of the movie, the carnival and Portobello Road. For most of the major galleries I think you’d be there is 20-30 minutes and if you want to explore East London it will take a bit Longer. Considering London is such a great vast city (with 6 travel Zones) - you have everything on your doorstep.

About me?
I’m a Londoner born and bred and I still love exploring this city: Coffee, food, cocktails and a fancy glass of wine are my weaknesses. So if that is your thing, I am truly and oasis of information!

Great Place for first timers!!

Flat has everything you need and is perfect for a family of 4. The heat and hot water worked perfectly and the flat was very clean. The building was very quiet. We never heard any noises from the surrounding flats. A short walk to the underground and close to some fantastic restaurants. Ewa was very attentive and checked in on us often. She also gave us some wonderful advise on places to eat, transportation and parking. Thank you for making our first trip to London so special. We can not wait to come back!

Basic but functional.

Host super friendly and informative about local area. Property was basic, minor things that need repair would help improve the overall stay - such as toilet flush button being broken in half, blinds lopsided and too small for windows. Cupboards could use a clean out - several empty jars in kitchen and opened personal items in bathroom. Black mould on bedroom window frame triggered my asthma. Overall the property is handy for Edgware Road underground station and has all you need for a short stay.

Great downtown location!

Ewa was a fantastic host and gave us a ton of info on places to eat. The flat was a great location for exploring downtown London with kids but still was quiet and peaceful at the end of a long busy day and had lots of space to spread out in. Thank you for being so accommodating to our needs, we will be back!

Very nice host, but the place needs a lot of work

This place would be ok in a pinch, for a long stay or if you have children I would look elsewhere. Very nice host, but the place is really run down and about 30-50 minutes from attractions. Definitely not recommended if you plan to sleep in given the noise. This is the review I wish I had seen when considering my three-day stay here: Positives: The host was very nice and kind, she took the time to compose several emails with helpful check in and tourism information. The host let us check in early even though she did not have to. Clean toilet, tub, and floors Washing machine available (it is supposed to dry too but we still had to hang everything on the radiators to finish drying) Negatives: Awful mattress, similar to a camping bag, but worse: it has plugs sticking up on the top that dig into ribs. We removed sheets when leaving, and discovered blood stains on mattress. At 8am construction next door begins with power and drilling tools. However, not before the neighbors wake up at 6am. The walls are so thin that you can hear the child running, the cabinets opening and closing, and the faucets running; after they use the faucets, you get the most annoying drip sound in the bedroom. The money we saved in hotels we spent on Uber rides/transit getting to the main attractions. It would have been smarter to book a more expensive place closer to the central locations we were going to. Rust on bathroom tub, right around the faucet. Tetanus risk there. Flush button on bathroom toilet is broken, also a hazard. Bed Sheets are stained, though we know they had been washed. Dirty toilet paper left on bathroom trash from previous guests. Cleaning supplies left out in bathroom Couch has sweat stains. Kitchen chair pads are also stained. Black dust around window panels, food in fridge, gunk in freezer, dirty microwave with red/brown food particles inside, smudges on fridge and microwave surfaces. Carpet on doorway is extremely dirty All blinds are too short for the windows, so they never fully close. The blinds boards themselves are misaligned. Missing a kitchen cabinet door which leaves contents exposed, looks like it was ripped off Living room table has bubbles from heat or water damage Bathroom cabinet door does not close all the way, same with closet doors. All other doors don’t open all the way and must be kept open with stoppers. Tried to make tea, appliances were old and not really clean, so we ended up not using the kitchen at all.

Central, value for money, reliable and helpful host

Ewa was very nice and sent us a lot of helpful information prior to our trip. The place was very well located, near the underground and main buses. The apartment is on the ground floor with easy access. The area felt secure and really near buses and underground. During our stay in London we visited the Harry Potter Studios in Watford, the apartment is also very near the overground metro so it was really convenient!! Great value for money!

Nice and quiet. Great host!

Really nice, quiet apartment. Very peaceful. The host Jasmin sent me tips on local eateries, which was like an insider's guide and was great. This place is close to the center and you can walk to Oxford Street and Hyde park in 20 minutes. Good public transport from here as well. Loved the neighborhood, food/restaurants very reasonably priced (for London!) Would come again for sure!

Walk to bus and tube, apartment in ambient neighborhood

My husband and I attended five plays in the West End and visited Tate Modern, Tate Brittain, the National Gallery, the British Museum plus visiting Harrods, Selfridges from this apartment. We shopped at the local Church street Market for supplies to eat late suppers in. We also entertained an overnight guest. Restaurants in the area are ethnically diverse and modestly priced. The apartment is in a vintage building and there are some ways that it is not up to Holiday Inn. The hostess was gracious and helpful. We would definitely return should we return to London.
