SHILOH COTTAGE - Sleeps 4+2 in the charming village of Ancrum
Overlooking the tree-lined village green with a cosy gastropub nearby, Shiloh offers all the trappings of country life. Brimming with charm and character, this period property is a real home-from-home where you can slip into a holiday mindset and relax.
A perfect base for walking and sightseeing with plenty of child friendly facilities nearby
Offering flexible accommodation for families or couples, the ground floor of the property features a living room with a toasty wood burning stove, its Scandi colour palette punctuated with pops of colour, sumptuous sheepskin rugs and lovely textures from local artist Moy Mackay. Double doors open out onto the patio and a large enclosed multi-level private garden which benefits from sunshine for most of the day.
A charming modern rustic kitchen with Lacanche range cooker and dining space leads into a large snug with TV and sofa and utility room with plenty of space for outdoor gear, wellies and walking boots.
Upstairs, the two double bedrooms offer flexible accommodation for families with the addition of a single bed and a separate truckle bed. Bedroom one and two is separated by a bathroom with a large walk-in shower.
The nearby Ancrum Cross Keys has bags of character with bar and fine craft ales on offer here along with some great local chat. Guests will find a well-stocked village shop and post office just an easy two minute stroll from the cottage.
Sitting in beautiful Borders countryside, there is excellent walking, fishing, golfing and cycling on the doorstep; nearby Harestanes Visitor Centre with plenty of family friendly activities; while the magnificent city of Edinburgh sits one hour's drive north on the A.68.
The pretty setting overlooking the village green is just a gentle stroll to the nearby Cross Keys Inn for some lovely chat and a fine craft ale.

Sitting room with one large sofa and one small sofa, wood burning stove with initial supply of logs. Smart TV (no DVD player). Double doors lead to a private patio and enclosed terraced garden.
Kitchen with Lacanche range cooker and five burner hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer with water machine, dishwasher, Nespresso machine. Dining area with seating for six. This leads into a large snug/utility room with sofa and TV and also a washing machine, heated clothes airer, sink and a side door into the garden.
Small cloakroom with WC.

Bedroom one with 5’2” king size bed, single 3' bed and separate 3' truckle bed, side tables, large in-built wardrobe with hanging and storage space.

OUTSIDE
Large enclosed garden to the rear of the property with double doors from the sitting room. This benefits from sunshine for most of the day and enjoys wonderful views from the top terrace. A gate to the rear of the garden gives direct access onto a private lane.
The garden is multi-level comprising a patio area, terrace and lawn. Summerhouse and trampoline.

Street parking directly to the front of the cottage.
BABIES & CHILDREN
A travel cot and high chair can be provided on request. The rear garden is fully enclosed but guests should note that there is a gate to the rear of the lawned garden which gives access to a private lane.
DOGS
One dog is welcome at a charge of £20. Your dog should be kept to the large utility/boot room until clean and dry, and thereafter must be kept to the ground floor of the property only, and not permitted on the furniture.
There is an outside tap to the front and also the rear of the property for cleaning. A side access allows direct entry into the boot room/utility area.

Fibre broadband is available. Mobile reception is generally good.
